1Ai de Jerusalém, cidade impura e pecaminosa, cidade violenta e opressora!
2Ela é tão orgulhosa que nem sequer ouve a voz do Senhor. Ela não aceita conselhos de ninguém, não aceita correções. Ela não confia no Senhor nem procura o seu Deus.
3Seus líderes são como leões que rugem, caçando suas vítimas e destruindo tudo o que podem. Seus juízes são como lobos famintos ao cair da noite que ao chegar a madrugada já devoraram suas vítimas completamente.
4Seus profetas são mentirosos e enganadores. Seus sacerdotes profanam o templo, desobedecendo às leis de Deus.
5Apesar disso, o Senhor permanece na cidade e sempre faz o que é justo e jamais comete uma injustiça. A cada dia a sua justiça se torna mais visível, mas ninguém dá importância. Os perversos não se sentem envergonhados.
6“Eu destruí muitas nações, deixando-as arrasadas até as fronteiras mais distantes. Fiz suas ruas ficarem destruídas e desertas e deixei as cidades vazias, sem um sobrevivente sequer.
7E pensei: ‘Com certeza, agora eles me ouvirão; com certeza darão atenção aos meus avisos, e não vou precisar destruir sua terra’. Mas isso não aconteceu. Por mais que eu os castigue, eles continuam a andar em seus maus caminhos”.
8Mas o Senhor diz: “Sejam pacientes. Logo chegará o tempo em que eu me levantarei e acusarei essas nações perversas. Meu plano é reunir todos os reinos da terra e derramar todo o meu furor e toda a minha ira sobre eles. Toda a terra será devorada pelo fogo do meu zelo.
9“Então eu mudarei a língua dos povos para que todos invoquem o nome do Senhor e para que todos possam adorar juntos ao Senhor.
10O meu povo que vive espalhado além dos rios da Etiópia virá trazendo suas ofertas, pedindo para ser novamente o seu Deus.
11Quando chegar aquele dia, vocês não precisarão se envergonhar de si mesmos, porque já não serão mais rebeldes contra mim. Eu vou eliminar do seu meio todos os homens orgulhosos e arrogantes. Não haverá orgulho ou atrevimento no meu santo monte.
12Só ficarão os mansos e humildes, e eles confiarão no nome do Senhor.
13O remanescente do povo de Israel não cometerá injustiças, nem estará cheio de mentira e engano. Viverá tranquilamente, em paz, e se deitará em segurança. Ninguém o assustará”.
14Cante, ó filha de Sião. Grite de alegria, ó Israel. Alegre-se e vibre de felicidade de todo o coração, ó filha de Jerusalém.
15Pois o Senhor removeu as suas acusações contra vocês e fez debandar os exércitos de seu inimigo. O Senhor mesmo, o Rei de Israel, está no meio de vocês! Todas as suas tristezas acabarão — vocês não precisarão mais ter medo de coisa alguma.
16Naquele dia, o aviso que se dará a Jerusalém será: “Não tenha medo, ó Sião. Não fiquem fracos nem desanimados.
17Pois o Senhor, o seu Deus, está no meio de vocês. Ele é um Salvador poderoso. Ele lhes dará a vitória. Ele se alegrará em vocês com imensa alegria! Ele vai amar vocês e não os acusará. Ele se alegra em vocês com gritos de alegria”.
18“Eu ajuntarei os seus feridos e acabarei com tudo aquilo que os envergonhava.
19Castigarei duramente todos os que maltrataram vocês. Salvarei os fracos e indefesos e reunirei os que foram expulsos da terra onde viviam. Darei glória aos que, quando foram levados presos, receberam ofensas e zombarias.
20Naquele tempo, vou reunir todos vocês e os trarei de volta à sua terra. Darei a vocês um nome respeitado e honrado por todos os povos da terra. As nações os louvarão, quando eu mudar sua sorte diante de seus próprios olhos”, diz o Senhor.

1¡AY de la ciudad ensuciada y contaminada y opresora!
2No escuchó la voz, ni recibió la disciplina: no se confió en Jehová, no se acercó á su Dios.
3Sus príncipes en medio de ella son leones bramadores: sus jueces, lobos de tarde que no dejan hueso para la mañana:
4Sus profetas, livianos, hombres prevaricadores: sus sacerdotes contaminaron el santuario, falsearon la ley.
5Jehová justo en medio de ella, no hará iniquidad: de mañana sacará á luz su juicio, nunca falta: mas el perverso no tiene vergüenza.
6Hice talar gentes; sus castillos están asolados; hice desiertas sus calles, hasta no quedar quien pase: sus ciudades están asoladas hasta no quedar hombre, hasta no quedar morador.
7Dije: Ciertamente me temerás, recibirás corrección; y no será su habitación derruída por todo aquello sobre que los visité. Mas ellos se levantaron de mañana, y corrompieron todas sus obras.
8Por tanto, esperadme, dice Jehová, al día que me levantaré al despojo: porque mi determinación es reunir las gentes, juntar los reinos, para derramar sobre ellos mi enojo, todo el furor de mi ira; porque del fuego de mi celo será consumida toda la tierra.
9Por entonces volveré yo á los pueblos el labio limpio, para que todos invoquen el nombre de Jehová, para que de un consentimiento le sirvan.
10De esa parte de los ríos de Etiopía, mis suplicantes, la hija de mis esparcidos, me traerán ofrenda.
11En aquel día no serás avergonzada por ninguna de tus obras con que te rebelaste contra mí; porque entonces quitaré de en medio de ti los que se alegran en tu soberbia, y nunca más te ensoberbecerás del monte de mi santidad.
12Y dejaré en medio de ti un pueblo humilde y pobre, los cuales esperarán en el nombre de Jehová.
13El resto de Israel no hará iniquidad, ni dirá mentira, ni en boca de ellos se hallará lengua engañosa: porque ellos serán apacentados y dormirán, y no habrá quien los espante.
14Canta, oh hija de Sión: da voces de júbilo, oh Israel; gózate y regocíjate de todo corazón, hija de Jerusalem.
15Jehová ha apartado tus juicios, ha echado fuera tus enemigos: Jehová es Rey de Israel en medio de ti; nunca más verás mal.
16En aquel tiempo se dirá á Jerusalem: No temas: Sión, no se debiliten tus manos.
17Jehová en medio de ti, poderoso, él salvará; gozaráse sobre ti con alegría, callará de amor, se regocijará sobre ti con cantar.
18Reuniré á los fastidiados por causa del largo tiempo; tuyos fueron; para quienes el oprobio de ella era una carga.
19He aquí, en aquel tiempo yo apremiaré á todos tus opresores; y salvaré la coja, y recogeré la descarriada; y pondrélos por alabanza y por renombre en todo país de confusión.
20En aquel tiempo yo os traeré, en aquel tiempo os reuniré yo; pues os daré por renombre y por alabanza entre todos los pueblos de la tierra, cuando tornaré vuestros cautivos delante de vuestros ojos, dice Jehová.

1Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city!
2She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her God.
3Her princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they gnaw not the bones till the morrow.
4Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.
5The just LORD is in the midst thereof; he will not do iniquity: every morning doth he bring his judgment to light, he faileth not; but the unjust knoweth no shame.
6I have cut off the nations: their towers are desolate; I made their streets waste, that none passeth by: their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, that there is none inhabitant.
7I said, Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt receive instruction; so their dwelling should not be cut off, howsoever I punished them: but they rose early, and corrupted all their doings.
8Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.
9For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.
10From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants, even the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine offering.
11In that day shalt thou not be ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me: for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of my holy mountain.
12I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the LORD.
13The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.
14Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.
15The LORD hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, even the LORD, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more.
16In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not: and to Zion, Let not thine hands be slack.
17The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.
18I will gather them that are sorrowful for the solemn assembly, who are of thee, to whom the reproach of it was a burden.
19Behold, at that time I will undo all that afflict thee: and I will save her that halteth, and gather her that was driven out; and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame.
20At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD.

1Woe to her who is rebellious and polluted, the oppressing city!
2She didn’t obey the voice. She didn’t receive correction. She didn’t trust in the LORD. She didn’t draw near to her God.
3Her princes within her are roaring lions. Her judges are evening wolves. They leave nothing until the next day.
4Her prophets are arrogant and treacherous people. Her priests have profaned the sanctuary. They have done violence to the law.
5The LORD, within her, is righteous. He will do no wrong. Every morning he brings his justice to light. He doesn’t fail, but the unjust know no shame.
6I have cut off nations. Their battlements are desolate. I have made their streets waste, so that no one passes by. Their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, so that there is no inhabitant.
7I said, “Just fear me. Receive correction,” so that her dwelling won’t be cut off, according to all that I have appointed concerning her. But they rose early and corrupted all their doings.
8“Therefore wait for me”, says the LORD, “until the day that I rise up to the prey, for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms to pour on them my indignation, even all my fierce anger, for all the earth will be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.
9For then I will purify the lips of the peoples, that they may all call on the LORD’s name, to serve him shoulder to shoulder.
10From beyond the rivers of Cush, my worshipers, even the daughter of my dispersed people, will bring my offering.
11In that day you will not be disappointed for all your doings in which you have transgressed against me; for then I will take away out from among you your proudly exulting ones, and you will no more be arrogant in my holy mountain.
12But I will leave among you an afflicted and poor people, and they will take refuge in the LORD’s name.
13The remnant of Israel will not do iniquity nor speak lies, neither will a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth, for they will feed and lie down, and no one will make them afraid.”
14Sing, daughter of Zion! Shout, Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, daughter of Jerusalem.
15The LORD has taken away your judgments. He has thrown out your enemy. The King of Israel, the LORD, is among you. You will not be afraid of evil any more.
16In that day, it will be said to Jerusalem, “Don’t be afraid, Zion. Don’t let your hands be weak.”
17The LORD, your God, is among you, a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with joy. He will calm you in his love. He will rejoice over you with singing.
18I will remove those who grieve about the appointed feasts from you. They are a burden and a reproach to you.
19Behold, at that time I will deal with all those who afflict you; and I will save those who are lame and gather those who were driven away. I will give them praise and honor, whose shame has been in all the earth.
20At that time I will bring you in, and at that time I will gather you; for I will give you honor and praise among all the peoples of the earth when I restore your fortunes before your eyes, says the LORD.
