1Bittet Jahwe um Regen! Er schafft zu rechter Zeit Spätregen und Frühregen; Wetterstrahlen und Gußregen spendet er ihnen, einem jeden Kraut auf dem Felde.
2Denn die Teraphim gaben nichtige Sprüche, und die Wahrsager hatten Lügengesichte. Sie reden nur eitle Träumereien und spenden nur windigen Trost. Darum sind sie weitergezogen wie eine Herde, sind nun im Elend, weil niemand sie weidet.
3Über die Hirten ist mein Zorn entbrannt, und an den Leithämmeln will ich Heimsuchung üben. Denn Jahwe der Heerscharen hat nach seiner Herde, dem Hause Juda, geschaut und hat sie zu seinem Prachtroß im Kriege gemacht.
4Aus ihnen geht der Eckstein hervor, aus ihnen der Zeltpflock; aus ihnen geht auch der Kriegsbogen hervor, aus ihnen stammen alle Anführer insgesamt.
5Sie werden im Kampfe Helden gleichen, die den Kot der Gassen zerstampfen, und werden tapfer kämpfen, denn Jahwe ist mit ihnen, daß die feindlichen Reiter zu Schanden werden.
6Ich mache das Haus Juda stark und dem Hause Joseph bringe ich Hilfe. Ich führe sie zurück, denn ich habe Erbarmen mit ihnen, und sie werden sein, als hätte ich sie niemals verworfen. Denn ich bin Jahwe, ihr Gott, und will sie erhören.
7Dann werden die Ephraimiten zu Helden werden und fröhlichen Mutes sein wie von Wein. Ihre Kinder werden es sehen und sich freuen, jubeln soll ihr Herz über Jahwe!
8Ich will sie herbeilocken und sie versammeln, denn ich habe sie erlöst; und sie sollen so zahlreich werden, wie sie es einstmals waren.
9Ich säe sie aus unter die Völker; aber in den fernsten Landen werden sie meiner gedenken und werden dort ihre Kinder aufziehen und dann heimkehren.
10Ich werde sie heimführen aus Ägypten und werde sie aus Assur sammeln. Ich lasse sie einziehen in das Land Gilead und den Bezirk des Libanon, und es wird an Raum für sie mangeln.
11Sie durchziehen das ägyptische Meer, und er schlägt das Meer der Wogen und trocknet aus alle Strudel des Nils. Das hochmütige Assur wird gestürzt, und das Königsscepter weicht von Ägypten.
12Ich will machen, daß sie stark seien durch Jahwe, und seines Namens sollen sie sich rühmen, ist der Spruch Jahwes.

1PEDID á Jehová lluvia en la sazón tardía: Jehová hará relámpagos, y os dará lluvia abundante, y hierba en el campo á cada uno.
2Porque las imágenes han hablado vanidad, y los adivinos han visto mentira, y han hablado sueños vanos, en vano consuelan: por lo cual se fueron ellos como ovejas, fueron humillados porque no tuvieron pastor.
3Contra los pastores se ha encendido mi enojo, y castigaré los machos de cabrío: mas Jehová de los ejércitos visitará su rebaño, la casa de Judá, y tornarálos como su caballo de honor en la guerra.
4De él saldrá el ángulo, de él la clavija, de él el arco de la guerra, de él también todo apremiador.
5Y serán como valientes, que en la batalla pisan al enemigo en el lodo de las calles; y pelearán, porque Jehová será con ellos; y los que cabalgan en caballos serán avergonzados.
6Porque yo fortificaré la casa de Judá, y guardaré la casa de José; y harélos volver, porque de ellos tendré piedad; y serán como si no los hubiera desechado; porque yo soy Jehová su Dios, que los oiré.
7Y será Ephraim como valiente, y alegraráse su corazón como de vino: sus hijos también verán y se alegrarán; su corazón se gozará en Jehová.
8Yo les silbaré y los juntaré, porque los he redimido; y serán multiplicados como fueron multiplicados.
9Bien que los sembraré entre los pueblos, aun en lejanos países se acordarán de mí; y vivirán con sus hijos, y tornarán.
10Porque yo los tornaré de la tierra de Egipto, y los recogeré de la Asiria; y traerélos á la tierra de Galaad y del Líbano, y no les bastará.
11Y la tribulación pasará por la mar, y en la mar herirá las ondas, y se secarán todas las honduras del río: y la soberbia del Assur será derribada, y se perderá el cetro de Egipto.
12Y yo los fortificaré en Jehová, y caminarán en su nombre, dice Jehová.

1Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.
2For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd.
3Mine anger was kindled against the shepherds, and I punished the goats: for the LORD of hosts hath visited his flock the house of Judah, and hath made them as his goodly horse in the battle.
4Out of him came forth the corner, out of him the nail, out of him the battle bow, out of him every oppressor together.
5And they shall be as mighty men, which tread down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle: and they shall fight, because the LORD is with them, and the riders on horses shall be confounded.
6And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them again to place them; for I have mercy upon them: and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am the LORD their God, and will hear them.
7And they of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as through wine: yea, their children shall see it, and be glad; their heart shall rejoice in the LORD.
8I will hiss for them, and gather them; for I have redeemed them: and they shall increase as they have increased.
9And I will sow them among the people: and they shall remember me in far countries; and they shall live with their children, and turn again.
10I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and place shall not be found for them.
11And he shall pass through the sea with affliction, and shall smite the waves in the sea, and all the deeps of the river shall dry up: and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the sceptre of Egypt shall depart away.
12And I will strengthen them in the LORD; and they shall walk up and down in his name, saith the LORD.

1Ask of the LORD rain in the spring time, the LORD who makes storm clouds, and he gives rain showers to everyone for the plants in the field.
2For the teraphim have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie; and they have told false dreams. They comfort in vain. Therefore they go their way like sheep. They are oppressed, because there is no shepherd.
3My anger is kindled against the shepherds, and I will punish the male goats, for the LORD of Armies has visited his flock, the house of Judah, and will make them as his majestic horse in the battle.
4From him will come the cornerstone, from him the tent peg, from him the battle bow, from him every ruler together.
5They will be as mighty men, treading down muddy streets in the battle. They will fight, because the LORD is with them. The riders on horses will be confounded.
6“I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph. I will bring them back, for I have mercy on them. They will be as though I had not cast them off, for I am the LORD their God, and I will hear them.
7Ephraim will be like a mighty man, and their heart will rejoice as through wine. Yes, their children will see it and rejoice. Their heart will be glad in the LORD.
8I will signal for them and gather them, for I have redeemed them. They will increase as they were before.
9I will sow them among the peoples. They will remember me in far countries. They will live with their children and will return.
10I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria. I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and there won’t be room enough for them.
11He will pass through the sea of affliction, and will strike the waves in the sea, and all the depths of the Nile will dry up; and the pride of Assyria will be brought down, and the scepter of Egypt will depart.
12I will strengthen them in the LORD. They will walk up and down in his name,” says the LORD.
