Masquil de Asaph. ¿POR qué, oh Dios, nos has desechado para siempre? ¿por qué ha humeado tu furor contra las ovejas de tu dehesa?
O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?
God, why have you rejected us forever? Why does your anger smolder against the sheep of your pasture?
Gedenke deiner Gemeinde, die du vor alters erworben, / die du erlöst hast, dass sie dein Volk sei, / des Berges Zion, auf dem du Wohnung genommen. /
Acuérdate de tu congregación, que adquiriste de antiguo, cuando redimiste la vara de tu heredad; este monte de Sión, donde has habitado.
Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.
Remember your congregation, which you purchased of old, which you have redeemed to be the tribe of your inheritance: Mount Zion, in which you have lived.
Erhebe deine Schritte zu den uralten Trümmern; / alles hat der Feind im Heiligtum verheert. /
Levanta tus pies á los asolamientos eternos: á todo enemigo que ha hecho mal en el santuario.
Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual desolations; even all that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary.
Lift up your feet to the perpetual ruins, all the evil that the enemy has done in the sanctuary.
Deine Widersacher brüllten inmitten deiner heiligen Stätte, / stellten ihre Paniere als Zeichen auf. /
Tus enemigos han bramado en medio de tus sinagogas: han puesto sus divisas por señas.
Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set up their ensigns for signs.
Your adversaries have roared in the middle of your assembly. They have set up their standards as signs.
Es war anzusehen, wie wenn man die Axt / hochschwingt im Dickicht des Waldes; /
Cualquiera se hacía famoso según que había levantado el hacha sobre los gruesos maderos.
A man was famous according as he had lifted up axes upon the thick trees.
They behaved like men wielding axes, cutting through a thicket of trees.
und dann zerschlugen sie das Schnitzwerk / allzumal mit Beilen und Hämmern. /
Y ahora con hachas y martillos han quebrado todas sus entalladuras.
But now they break down the carved work thereof at once with axes and hammers.
Now they break all its carved work down with hatchet and hammers.
Sie haben dein Heiligtum in Brand gesteckt, / bis auf den Grund entweiht die Wohnstatt deines Namens. /
Han puesto á fuego tus santuarios, han profanado el tabernáculo de tu nombre echándolo á tierra.
They have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of thy name to the ground.
They have burned your sanctuary to the ground. They have profaned the dwelling place of your Name.
Sie dachten bei sich: "Wir vertilgen sie allzumal!" / sie verbrannten alle Gottesstätten im Lande. /
Dijeron en su corazón: Destruyámoslos de una vez; han quemado todas las sinagogas de Dios en la tierra.
They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land.
They said in their heart, “We will crush them completely.” They have burned up all the places in the land where God was worshiped.
Unsre Zeichen sehen wir nimmer, kein Prophet ist mehr da; / niemand unter uns weiss, bis wie lange. /
No vemos ya nuestras señales: no hay más profeta; ni con nosotros hay quien sepa hasta cuándo.
We see not our signs: there is no more any prophet: neither is there among us any that knoweth how long.

Wie lange, o Gott, soll der Widersacher noch schmähen, / soll der Feind deinen Namen immerfort lästern? /
¿Hasta cuándo, oh Dios, el angustiador nos afrentará? ¿ha de blasfemar el enemigo perpetuamente tu nombre?
O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever?

Warum ziehst du die Hand zurück, / hältst deine Rechte im Busen verborgen? /

Why withdrawest thou thy hand, even thy right hand? pluck it out of thy bosom.

Du hast zerschlagen die Köpfe des Leviathan, / dem Volke der Wüstentiere ihn zum Frass gegeben. /
Tú magullaste las cabezas del leviathán; dístelo por comida al pueblo de los desiertos.
Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.

O deliver not the soul of thy turtledove unto the multitude of the wicked: forget not the congregation of thy poor for ever.

Vergiss nicht des Geschreis deiner Feinde, / des Tobens deiner Widersacher, das allzeit emporsteigt.
No olvides las voces de tus enemigos: el alboroto de los que se levantan contra ti sube continuamente.
Forget not the voice of thine enemies: the tumult of those that rise up against thee increaseth continually.
Don’t forget the voice of your adversaries. The tumult of those who rise up against you ascends continually.
