A Idithun, cantico di David. Io dissi: Starò attento sopra di me per non peccare colla mia lingua. Posi un freno alla mia bocca, allorché veniva in campo contro di me il peccatore.
Salmo de David, para recordar. JEHOVÁ, no me reprendas en tu furor, ni me castigues en tu ira.
O LORD, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.

Ammutolii, e mi umiliai, e di cose anche buone io non parlai; e il dolor mio rincrudì.
Porque tus saetas descendieron á mí, y sobre mí ha caído tu mano.
For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore.
For your arrows have pierced me, your hand presses hard on me.
Si acceso dentro di me il cuor mio, e un fuoco divampò nelle mie considerazioni.
No hay sanidad en mi carne á causa de tu ira; ni hay paz en mis huesos á causa de mi pecado.
There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.

Dissi colla mia lingua: Signore, fammi conoscere il mio fine. E qual sia il numero de' giorni miei, affinchè io sappia quel, che mi avanza.
Porque mis iniquidades han pasado mi cabeza: como carga pesada se han agravado sobre mí.
For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.

Certo, che a corta misura tu hai ridotto i miei giorni, e la mia sussistenza è come un nulla dinanzi a te. Certamente mera vanità egli è ogni uomo vivente.
Pudriéronse, corrompiéronse mis llagas, á causa de mi locura.
My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness.

Certamente l'uomo passa come ombra: e di più si conturba senza fondamento. Tesoreggia, e non sa per chi egli metta da parte.
Estoy encorvado, estoy humillado en gran manera, ando enlutado todo el día.
I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.

E adesso la mia espettazione qual è, se non tu, o Signore, in cui è la mia sussistenza.
Porque mis lomos están llenos de irritación, y no hay sanidad en mi carne.
For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh.
For my waist is filled with burning. There is no soundness in my flesh.
Liberami da tutte le mie iniquità: tu mi hai renduto oggetto di scherno allo stolto.
Estoy debilitado y molido en gran manera; bramo á causa de la conmoción de mi corazón.
I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.
I am faint and severely bruised. I have groaned by reason of the anguish of my heart.
Ammutolii, e non apersi la mia bocca, perché opera tua ell'è questa:
Señor, delante de ti están todos mis deseos; y mi suspiro no te es oculto.
Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.

Rimuovi da me i tuoi flagelli.
Mi corazón está acongojado, hame dejado mi vigor; y aun la misma luz de mis ojos no está conmigo.
My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.
My heart throbs. My strength fails me. As for the light of my eyes, it has also left me.
Sotto la tua mano forte io venni meno quando mi correggesti: tu per ragion dell'iniquità gastigasti l'uomo. E l'anima di lui facesti, che a guisa di ragno si consumasse: certamente indarno l'uom si conturba.
Mis amigos y mis compañeros se quitaron de delante de mi plaga; y mis cercanos se pusieron lejos.
My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off.

Esaudisci la mia orazione, o Signore, e le mie suppliche: da udienza alle mie lagrime. Non istarti in silenzio, perocché forestiero, e pellegrino son io davanti te, come tutti i padri miei.
Y los que buscaban mi alma armaron lazos; y los que procuraban mi mal hablaban iniquidades, y meditaban fraudes todo el día.

Fa pausa con me, affinchè io abbia, refrigerio avanti ch'io me ne vada da un luogo, dove più non sarò. E' salmo profetico, col quale Cristo rende grazie al Padre, che lo ha esaudito: si offerisce a fare la volontà dello stesso Padre, gli domanda la continuazione delle sue grazie pel suo mistico corpo, che è la Chiesa. Può convenire a qualunque anima giusta, che a Dio ricorra nella afflizione.
Mas yo, como si fuera sordo, no oía; y estaba como un mudo, que no abre su boca.
But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.

Fuí pues como un hombre que no oye, y que en su boca no tiene reprensiones.

Porque dije: Que no se alegren de mí: cuando mi pie resbalaba, sobre mí se engrandecían.
For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.
For I said, “Don’t let them gloat over me, or exalt themselves over me when my foot slips.”

Empero yo estoy á pique de claudicar, y mi dolor está delante de mí continuamente.
For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me.

Por tanto denunciaré mi maldad; congojaréme por mi pecado.
For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.

Porque mis enemigos están vivos y fuertes: y hanse aumentado los que me aborrecen sin causa:

Y pagando mal por bien me son contrarios, por seguir yo lo bueno.

No me desampares, oh Jehová: Dios mío, no te alejes de mí.
Forsake me not, O LORD: O my God, be not far from me.
