1Rühmet Jah! Danket Jahwe, denn er ist gütig; denn ewig währt seine Gnade.
2Wer kann die Machtthaten Jahwes ausreden, all seinen Ruhm verkündigen?
3Wohl denen, die auf Recht halten, dem, der zu jeder Zeit Gerechtigkeit übt.
4Gedenke meiner, Jahwe, nach der Huld, die du deinem Volke verheißen; suche mich heim mit deiner Hilfe,
5daß ich am Glücke deiner Auserwählten meine Lust schaue, mich an der Freude deines Volkes freue, mit deinem Eigentum mich rühme!
6Wir haben gesündigt samt unsern Vätern, haben uns verschuldet, sind gottlos gewesen.
7Unsere Väter in Ägypten begriffen deine Wunder nicht, gedachten nicht an deine große Gnade und empörten sich wider den Höchsten am Schilfmeer.
8Aber er half ihnen um seines Namens willen, um seine Stärke kund zu thun.
9Er bedrohte das Schilfmeer, daß es vertrocknete, und führte sie durch die Fluten wie auf einer Trift.
10Er rettete sie aus der Gewalt dessen, der sie haßte, und befreite sie aus der Gewalt des Feindes.
11Die Gewässer bedeckten ihre Bedränger; kein einziger von ihnen blieb übrig.
12Da glaubten sie an seine Worte, sangen seinen Ruhm.
13Eilends vergaßen sie seine Thaten, warteten nicht auf seinen Entschluß.
14Sie verfielen in der Steppe auf ein Gelüst und versuchten Gott in der Einöde.
15Da gab er ihnen, was sie begehrten, und ließ die Darre in sie kommen.
16Und sie wurden eifersüchtig auf Mose im Lager, auf Aaron, den Heiligen Jahwes.
17Die Erde that sich auf und verschlang Dathan und bedeckte die Rotte Abirams.
18Und Feuer zündete unter ihrer Rotte, die Flamme verbrannte die Gottlosen.
19Sie machten ein Kalb am Horeb und warfen sich nieder vor einem Gußbild
20und vertauschten ihren Herrlichen mit dem Bild eines Stiers, der Gras frißt.
21Sie vergaßen Gottes, ihres Erretters, der Großes in Ägypten gethan hatte,
22Wunderbares im Lande Hams, Furchtbares am Schilfmeer.
23Da gedachte er, sie zu vertilgen, wenn nicht Mose, sein Auserwählter, vor ihm in die Bresche getreten wäre, um seinen Grimm vom Vertilgen wieder abzubringen.
24Sie verschmähten das wonnige Land und glaubten seinem Worte nicht.
25Sie murrten in ihren Zelten, hörten nicht auf die Stimme Jahwes.
26Da erhob er ihnen seine Hand und schwur, daß er sie in der Wüste fällen
27und ihre Nachkommen unter die Völker zerstreuen und in die Länder versprengen wolle.
28Sie hingen sich an Baal Peor und aßen von den Opfern der toten Götzen.
29Und sie erzürnten ihn durch ihre Thaten; da fuhr eine Plage unter sie.
30Pinehas aber trat auf und richtete, da ward der Plage Einhalt gethan.
31Und das wurde ihm als Gerechtigkeit zugerechnet durch alle folgenden Geschlechter bis in Ewigkeit.
32Sodann erzürnten sie Gott am Hader-Wasser, und es erging Mose um ihretwillen übel.
33Denn sie hatten seinem Geiste widerstrebt, und er redete unbedacht mit seinen Lippen.
34Sie vertilgten nicht die Völker, die zu vertilgen Jahwe ihnen befohlen hatte.
35Sie ließen sich mit den Heiden ein und lernten ihre Werke;
36sie dienten ihren Götzen, und sie wurden ihnen zum Fallstrick.
37Sie opferten Söhne und Töchter den Dämonen
38und vergossen unschuldiges Blut, das Blut ihrer Söhne und Töchter, die sie den Götzen Kanaans opferten, daß das Land durch Blutschuld entweiht ward.
39Sie verunreinigten sich durch ihre Werke und verübten Buhlerei mit ihren Thaten.
40Da entbrannte der Zorn Jahwes gegen sein Volk, und er verabscheute sein Eigentum.
41Er überlieferte sie in die Gewalt der Heiden, daß ihre Hasser über sie herrschten.
42Und ihre Feinde bedrückten sie, und sie wurden unter ihre Gewalt gebeugt.
43Viele Male errettete er sie; sie aber waren widerspenstig in ihrem Vorhaben und sanken durch ihre Verschuldung.
44Und er sah ihre Not an, als er ihr Flehen vernahm,
45und gedachte ihnen zu gut an seinen Bund und ließ sich's leid sein nach seiner großen Gnade.
46Er schaffte, daß sie Erbarmen fanden bei allen, die sie gefangen hielten.
47Hilf uns, Jahwe, unser Gott, und sammle uns aus den Heiden, daß wir deinem heiligen Namen danken, uns deines Lobpreises rühmen!
48Gepriesen sei Jahwe, der Gott Israels, von Ewigkeit bis zu Ewigkeit, und alles Volk spreche: Amen! Rühmet Jah!

1ALELUYA. Alabad á Jehová, porque es bueno; porque para siempre es su misericordia.
2¿Quién expresará las valentías de Jehová? ¿quién contará sus alabanzas?
3Dichosos los que guardan juicio, los que hacen justicia en todo tiempo.
4Acuérdate de mí, oh Jehová, según tu benevolencia para con tu pueblo: visítame con tu salud;
5Para que yo vea el bien de tus escogidos, para que me goce en la alegría de tu gente, y me gloríe con tu heredad.
6Pecamos con nuestros padres, hicimos iniquidad, hicimos impiedad.
7Nuestros padres en Egipto no entendieron tus maravillas; no se acordaron de la muchedumbre de tus misericordias; sino que se rebelaron junto á la mar, en el mar Bermejo.
8Salvólos empero por amor de su nombre, para hacer notoria su fortaleza.
9Y reprendió al mar Bermejo, y secólo; é hízoles ir por el abismo, como por un desierto.
10Y salvólos de mano del enemigo, y rescatólos de mano del adversario.
11Y cubrieron las aguas á sus enemigos: no quedó uno de ellos.
12Entonces creyeron á sus palabras, y cantaron su alabanza.
13Apresuráronse, olvidáronse de sus obras; no esperaron en su consejo.
14Y desearon con ansia en el desierto; y tentaron á Dios en la soledad.
15Y él les dió lo que pidieron; mas envió flaqueza en sus almas.
16Tomaron después celo contra Moisés en el campo, y contra Aarón el santo de Jehová.
17Abrióse la tierra, y tragó á Dathán, y cubrió la compañía de Abiram.
18Y encendióse el fuego en su junta; la llama quemó los impíos.
19Hicieron becerro en Horeb, y encorváronse á un vaciadizo.
20Así trocaron su gloria por la imagen de un buey que come hierba.
21Olvidaron al Dios de su salud, que había hecho grandezas en Egipto;
22Maravillas en la tierra de Châm, cosas formidables sobre el mar Bermejo.
23Y trató de destruirlos, á no haberse puesto Moisés su escogido al portillo delante de él, á fin de apartar su ira, para que no los destruyese.
24Empero aborrecieron la tierra deseable: no creyeron á su palabra;
25Antes murmuraron en sus tiendas, y no oyeron la voz de Jehová.
26Por lo que alzó su mano á ellos, en orden á postrarlos en el desierto,
27Y humillar su simiente entre las gentes, y esparcirlos por las tierras.
28Allegáronse asimismo á Baal-peor, y comieron los sacrificios de los muertos.
29Y ensañaron á Dios con sus obras, y desarrollóse la mortandad en ellos.
30Entonces se levantó Phinees, é hizo juicio; y se detuvo la plaga.
31Y fuéle contado á justicia de generación en generación para siempre.
32También le irritaron en las aguas de Meriba: é hizo mal á Moisés por causa de ellos;
33Porque hicieron se rebelase su espíritu, como lo expresó con sus labios.
34No destruyeron los pueblos que Jehová les dijo;
35Antes se mezclaron con las gentes, y aprendieron sus obras,
36Y sirvieron á sus ídolos; los cuales les fueron por ruina.
37Y sacrificaron sus hijos y sus hijas á los demonios;
38Y derramaron la sangre inocente, la sangre de sus hijos y de sus hijas, que sacrificaron á los ídolos de Canaán: y la tierra fué contaminada con sangre.
39Contamináronse así con sus obras, y fornicaron con sus hechos.
40Encendióse por tanto el furor de Jehová sobre su pueblo, y abominó su heredad:
41Y entrególos en poder de las gentes, y enseñoreáronse de ellos los que los aborrecían.
42Y sus enemigos los oprimieron, y fueron quebrantados debajo de su mano.
43Muchas veces los libró; mas ellos se rebelaron á su consejo, y fueron humillados por su maldad.
44El con todo, miraba cuando estaban en angustia, y oía su clamor:
45Y acordábase de su pacto con ellos, y arrepentíase conforme á la muchedumbre de sus miseraciones.
46Hizo asimismo tuviesen de ellos misericordia todos los que los tenían cautivos.
47Sálvanos, Jehová Dios nuestro, y júntanos de entre las gentes, para que loemos tu santo nombre, para que nos gloriemos en tus alabanzas.
48Bendito Jehová Dios de Israel, desde el siglo y hasta el siglo: y diga todo el pueblo, Amén. Aleluya.

1Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
2Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? who can shew forth all his praise?
3Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.
4Remember me, O LORD, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;
5That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.
6We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.
7Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea.
8Nevertheless he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.
9He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.
10And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
11And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.
12Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.
13They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:
14But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.
15And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.
16They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the saint of the LORD.
17The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.
18And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.
19They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.
20Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass.
21They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt;
22Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea.
23Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.
24Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word:
25But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD.
26Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:
27To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands.
28They joined themselves also unto Baal-peor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.
29Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them.
30Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plague was stayed.
31And that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore.
32They angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:
33Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.
34They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them:
35But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.
36And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.
37Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,
38And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.
39Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions.
40Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.
41And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.
42Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.
43Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.
44Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:
45And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.
46He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives.
47Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise.
48Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the LORD.
