MEIN Sohn, wenn du gebürgt hast für deinen Nächsten, / Handschlag geleistet hast für einen andern, / (a) Spr 11:15; 17:18; 20:16

HIJO mío, si salieres fiador por tu amigo, si tocaste tu mano por el extraño,

My son, if thou be surety for thy friend, if thou hast stricken thy hand with a stranger,

My son, if you have become collateral for your neighbor, if you have struck your hands in pledge for a stranger,
