Proverbios 4

1Hört, ihr Kinder, die väterliche Unterweisung und merkt wohl auf, um Einsicht zu lernen!
2Denn treffliche Lehre gebe ich euch: laßt meine Weisungen nicht unbeachtet!
3Denn als ich noch als Sohn bei meinem Vater war, als zartes und einziges Kind unter der Obhut meiner Mutter,
4da belehrte er mich und sagte zu mir: »Laß dein Herz meine Worte festhalten! Beobachte meine Weisungen, so wirst du leben.
5Erwirb dir Weisheit, erwirb dir Einsicht, vergiß sie nicht und weiche nicht ab von den Worten meines Mundes!
6Laß sie nicht außer acht, so wird sie dich behüten; gewinne sie lieb, so wird sie dich beschirmen.
7Mit dem besten Teil deiner Habe erwirb dir Weisheit, und um den Preis deines ganzen Vermögens verschaffe dir Einsicht!
8Halte sie hoch, so wird sie dir Ansehen verleihen, wird dich zu Ehren bringen, wenn du sie mit Liebe umfängst;
9sie wird dir einen schönen Kranz aufs Haupt setzen, eine herrliche Krone dir bescheren.«
10Höre, mein Sohn, und nimm meine Worte an, so werden dir viele Lebensjahre zuteil werden.
11Über den Weg der Weisheit will ich dich belehren, will dich auf rechten Bahnen einhergehen lassen;
12wenn du (auf ihnen) wandelst, wird dein Schritt nicht gehemmt sein, und wenn du läufst, wirst du nicht zu Fall kommen.
13Halte an der Zucht fest, laß sie nicht fahren! Bewahre sie, denn sie ist dein Leben.
14Begib dich nicht auf den Pfad der Gottlosen und schreite nicht einher auf dem Wege der Bösen!
15Meide ihn, gehe nicht auf ihn hinüber! Wende dich von ihm ab und gehe daran vorüber!
16Denn sie können nicht schlafen, wenn sie nicht Böses (zuvor) getan haben; und der Schlaf ist ihnen geraubt, wenn sie nicht jemand verführt haben;
17denn das Brot, das sie essen, ist Gottlosigkeit, und der Wein, den sie trinken, ist Gewalttätigkeit.
18Aber der Pfad der Gerechten gleicht dem Glanz des Morgenlichts, das immer heller leuchtet bis zur vollen Tageshöhe.
19Der Weg der Gottlosen ist wie dunkle Nacht; sie gewahren nicht, worüber sie straucheln.
20Mein Sohn, merke auf meine Worte, leihe meinen Reden dein Ohr!
21Laß sie deinen Augen nie entschwinden, bewahre sie im Innersten deines Herzens!
22Denn Leben sind sie für jeden, der sie erfaßt, und heilsame Arznei für seinen ganzen Leib.
23Mehr als alles, was man zu bewachen hat, behüte dein Herz; denn von ihm hängt das Leben ab.
24Tu Falschheit des Mundes von dir ab und laß Lug und Trug fern von deinen Lippen sein!
25Dann können deine Augen geradeaus schauen und deine Augenlider frei vor dich hinblicken.
26Laß deinen Fuß auf gerader Bahn gehen und alle deine Wege fest gerichtet sein!
27Weiche nicht nach rechts noch nach links ab; halte deinen Fuß vom Bösen fern!

1OID, hijos, la doctrina de un padre, y estad atentos para que conozcáis cordura.
2Porque os doy buena enseñanza; no desamparéis mi ley.
3Porque yo fuí hijo de mi padre, delicado y único delante de mi madre.
4Y él me enseñaba, y me decía: Mantenga tu corazón mis razones, guarda mis mandamientos, y vivirás:
5Adquiere sabiduría, adquiere inteligencia; no te olvides ni te apartes de las razones de mi boca;
6No la dejes, y ella te guardará; ámala, y te conservará.
7Sabiduría ante todo: adquiere sabiduría: y ante toda tu posesión adquiere inteligencia.
8Engrandécela, y ella te engrandecerá: ella te honrará, cuando tú la hubieres abrazado.
9Adorno de gracia dará á tu cabeza: corona de hermosura te entregará.
10Oye, hijo mío, y recibe mis razones; y se te multiplicarán años de vida.
11Por el camino de la sabiduría te he encaminado, y por veredas derechas te he hecho andar.
12Cuando anduvieres no se estrecharán tus pasos; y si corrieres, no tropezarás.
13Ten el consejo, no lo dejes; guárdalo, porque eso es tu vida.
14No entres por la vereda de los impíos, ni vayas por el camino de los malos.
15Desampárala, no pases por ella; apártate de ella, pasa.
16Porque no duermen ellos, si no hicieren mal; y pierden su sueño, si no han hecho caer.
17Porque comen pan de maldad, y beben vino de robos.
18Mas la senda de los justos es como la luz de la aurora, que va en aumento hasta que el día es perfecto.
19El camino de los impíos es como la oscuridad: no saben en qué tropiezan.
20Hijo mío, está atento á mis palabras; inclina tu oído á mis razones.
21No se aparten de tus ojos; guárdalas en medio de tu corazón.
22Porque son vida á los que las hallan, y medicina á toda su carne.
23Sobre toda cosa guardada guarda tu corazón; porque de él mana la vida.
24Aparta de ti la perversidad de la boca, y aleja de ti la iniquidad de labios.
25Tus ojos miren lo recto, y tus párpados en derechura delante de ti.
26Examina la senda de tus pies, y todos tus caminos sean ordenados.
27No te apartes á diestra, ni á siniestra: aparta tu pie del mal.

1Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.
2For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.
3For I was my father’s son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.
4He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.
5Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.
6Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.
7Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
8Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.
9She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.
10Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.
11I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.
12When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.
13Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.
14Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.
15Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.
16For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.
17For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.
18But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
19The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.
20My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
21Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
22For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
23Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
24Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.
25Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.
26Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
27Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.
World English Bible
1Listen, sons, to a father’s instruction. Pay attention and know understanding;
2for I give you sound learning. Don’t forsake my law.
3For I was a son to my father, tender and an only child in the sight of my mother.
4He taught me, and said to me: “Let your heart retain my words. Keep my commandments, and live.
5Get wisdom. Get understanding. Don’t forget, and don’t deviate from the words of my mouth.
6Don’t forsake her, and she will preserve you. Love her, and she will keep you.
7Wisdom is supreme. Get wisdom. Yes, though it costs all your possessions, get understanding.
8Esteem her, and she will exalt you. She will bring you to honor when you embrace her.
9She will give to your head a garland of grace. She will deliver a crown of splendor to you.”
10Listen, my son, and receive my sayings. The years of your life will be many.
11I have taught you in the way of wisdom. I have led you in straight paths.
12When you go, your steps will not be hampered. When you run, you will not stumble.
13Take firm hold of instruction. Don’t let her go. Keep her, for she is your life.
14Don’t enter into the path of the wicked. Don’t walk in the way of evil men.
15Avoid it, and don’t pass by it. Turn from it, and pass on.
16For they don’t sleep unless they do evil. Their sleep is taken away, unless they make someone fall.
17For they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence.
18But the path of the righteous is like the dawning light that shines more and more until the perfect day.
19The way of the wicked is like darkness. They don’t know what they stumble over.
20My son, attend to my words. Turn your ear to my sayings.
21Let them not depart from your eyes. Keep them in the center of your heart.
22For they are life to those who find them, and health to their whole body.
23Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life.
24Put away from yourself a perverse mouth. Put corrupt lips far from you.
25Let your eyes look straight ahead. Fix your gaze directly before you.
26Make the path of your feet level. Let all of your ways be established.
27Don’t turn to the right hand nor to the left. Remove your foot from evil.
