HIJO mío, no te olvides de mi ley; y tu corazón guarde mis mandamientos:

Denn langes Leben und glückliche Jahre und Wohlfahrt werden sie dir in Fülle geben;
Porque largura de días, y años de vida y paz te aumentarán.
For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
for they will add to you length of days, years of life, and peace.
Liebe und Treue werden dich nimmermehr verlassen. Binde sie dir um den Hals, schreibe sie auf die Tafel deines Herzens,
Misericordia y verdad no te desamparen; átalas á tu cuello, escríbelas en la tabla de tu corazón:
Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
Don’t let kindness and truth forsake you. Bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart.
so wirst du Anmut und feine Klugheit gewinnen, die Gott und Menschen gefallen.
Y hallarás gracia y buena opinión en los ojos de Dios y de los hombres.
So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

Vertraue von ganzem Herzen auf Jahwe, aber auf deine Einsicht verlaß dich nicht.
Fíate de Jehová de todo tu corazón, y no estribes en tu prudencia.
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Auf allen deinen Wegen denke an ihn, so wird er deine Pfade ebnen.

Dünke dich nicht weise: fürchte Jahwe und halte dich fern vom Bösen;
No seas sabio en tu opinión: teme á Jehová, y apártate del mal;

das wird deinem Leibe gesund sein und deine Gebeine erquicken.
Porque será medicina á tu ombligo, y tuétano á tus huesos.
It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

Ehre Jahwe mit Gaben von deinem Gut und von den Erstlingen all' deines Einkommens,
Honra á Jehová de tu sustancia, y de las primicias de todos tus frutos;
Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:

so werden sich deine Speicher mit Überfluß füllen, und deine Kufen von Most überströmen.
Y serán llenas tus trojes con abundancia, y tus lagares rebosarán de mosto.
So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

Mein Sohn, verachte nicht die Zucht Jahwes und laß dich seine Strafe nicht verdrießen.
No deseches, hijo mío, el castigo de Jehová; ni te fatigues de su corrección:
My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:
My son, don’t despise the LORD’s discipline, neither be weary of his correction;
Denn wen Jahwe liebt, den straft er, und zwar wie ein Vater den Sohn, dem er wohlwill.
Porque al que ama castiga, como el padre al hijo á quien quiere.
For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
for whom the LORD loves, he corrects, even as a father reproves the son in whom he delights.
Wohl dem Menschen, der Weisheit erlangt, und dem Manne, der Einsicht gewinnt.
Bienaventurado el hombre que halla la sabiduría, y que obtiene la inteligencia:
Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

Denn ihr Erwerb ist besser als der von Silber, und wertvoller als Gold ihr Gewinn.

Mein Sohn, laß sie nicht von deinen Augen weichen, bewahre Verstand und Umsicht,
Hijo mío, no se aparten estas cosas de tus ojos; guarda la ley y el consejo;
My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:
My son, let them not depart from your eyes. Keep sound wisdom and discretion,
so werden sie Leben für dich sein und ein Schmuck voll Anmut für deinen Hals.
Y serán vida á tu alma, y gracia á tu cuello.
So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.

Alsdann wirst du auf deinem Wege sicher wandeln und mit deinem Fuße nicht anstoßen.
Entonces andarás por tu camino confiadamente, y tu pie no tropezará.
Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.
Then you shall walk in your way securely. Your foot won’t stumble.
Legst du dich nieder, so brauchst du nicht zu bangen, und liegst du, so wird dein Schlummer süß sein.
Cuando te acostares, no tendrás temor; antes te acostarás, y tu sueño será suave.
When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.
When you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet.
Du brauchst dich nicht zu fürchten vor plötzlichem Schrecknis, noch vor dem Verderben, wenn es über die Gottlosen hereinbricht.
No tendrás temor de pavor repentino, ni de la ruina de los impíos cuando viniere:
Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.

Denn Jahwe wird deine Zuversicht sein und deinen Fuß behüten, daß er nicht gefangen werde.
Porque Jehová será tu confianza, y él preservará tu pie de ser preso.
For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
for the LORD will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being taken.
Weigere dich nicht, dem Bedürftigen Gutes zu thun, wenn es in deiner Hände Macht steht, es zu thun.
No detengas el bien de sus dueños, cuando tuvieres poder para hacerlo.
Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.

Sprich nicht zu deinem Nächsten: Gehe hin und komme wieder! und: Morgen will ich dir geben! während du es doch hast.
No digas á tu prójimo: Ve, y vuelve, y mañana te daré; cuando tienes contigo qué darle.
Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.

Ersinne nicht Böses wider deinen Nächsten, während er arglos bei dir wohnt.
No intentes mal contra tu prójimo, estando él confiado de ti.
Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.
Don’t devise evil against your neighbor, since he dwells securely by you.
Hadere nicht mit jemand ohne Ursache, wenn er dir kein Leid angethan hat.
No pleitees con alguno sin razón, si él no te ha hecho agravio.
Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.

Sei nicht neidisch auf den Gewaltthätigen und laß dir keinen seiner Wege wohlgefallen.
No envidies al hombre injusto, ni escojas alguno de sus caminos.
Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.

Denn ein Greuel ist für Jahwe, wer Abwege geht; aber mit den Rechtschaffenen hält er vertraute Freundschaft.
Porque el perverso es abominado de Jehová: mas su secreto es con los rectos.
For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous.
For the perverse is an abomination to the LORD, but his friendship is with the upright.
Der Fluch Jahwes lastet auf dem Hause des Gottlosen; aber der Frommen Wohnstätte segnet er.
La maldición de Jehová está en la casa del impío; mas él bendecirá la morada de los justos.
The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.

Hat er's mit Spöttern zu thun, so spottet er, aber den Demütigen giebt er Gnade.
Ciertamente él escarnecerá á los escarnecedores, y á los humildes dará gracia.
Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.
