The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.
The words of King Lemuel—the revelation which his mother taught him:
Que te dirai-je, mon fils ? que te dirai-je, fils de mes entrailles ? que te dirai-je, fils qui as mes vœux ?
¿Qué, hijo mío? ¿y qué, hijo de mi vientre? ¿y qué, hijo de mis deseos?
What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?
“Oh, my son! Oh, son of my womb! Oh, son of my vows!
Ne livre pas aux femmes ta vigueur, et ne suis pas la voie qui perd les rois !
No des á las mujeres tu fuerza, ni tus caminos á lo que es para destruir los reyes.
Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.
Don’t give your strength to women, nor your ways to that which destroys kings.
Ce n'est pas aux rois, Lémuel, ce n'est pas aux rois de boire du vin, ni aux princes de boire de la cervoise ;
No es de los reyes, oh Lemuel, no es de los reyes beber vino, ni de los príncipes la cerveza.
It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:
It is not for kings, Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, nor for princes to say, ‘Where is strong drink?’
de peur que, s'ils boivent, ils n'oublient la Loi, et n'attentent aux droits de tous les fils du malheur.
No sea que bebiendo olviden la ley, y perviertan el derecho de todos los hijos afligidos.
Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.

Donnez de la cervoise à qui va périr, et du vin à qui a l'amertume dans le cœur ;
Dad la cerveza al desfallecido, y el vino á los de amargo ánimo:
Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.
Give strong drink to him who is ready to perish, and wine to the bitter in soul.
qu'il boive et oublie sa misère, et de ses peines perde le souvenir !
Beban, y olvídense de su necesidad, y de su miseria no más se acuerden.

Ouvre la bouche en faveur du muet. et pour défendre tous les enfants délaissés.
Abre tu boca por el mudo, en el juicio de todos los hijos de muerte.
Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

Une femme forte ! qui pourra la trouver ? Elle a plus de valeur que les perles.
Mujer fuerte, ¿quién la hallará? porque su estima sobrepuja largamente á la de piedras preciosas.
Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
Who can find a worthy woman? For her value is far above rubies.
En elle s'assure le cœur de son mari, et les profits ne lui manqueront pas.
El corazón de su marido está en ella confiado, y no tendrá necesidad de despojo.
The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

Elle lui fait du bien, et jamais de mal, tous les jours de sa vie.
Darále ella bien y no mal, todos los días de su vida.
She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

Elle met en œuvre la laine et le lin, et fait avec plaisir le travail de ses mains.
Buscó lana y lino, y con voluntad labró de sus manos.
She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

Semblable aux navires des marchands, elle fait venir de loin ses denrées.
Fué como navío de mercader: trae su pan de lejos.
She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

Elle se lève, quand il est nuit encore ; et distribue la nourriture à sa maison, et une tâche à ses servantes.
Levantóse aun de noche, y dió comida á su familia, y ración á sus criadas.
She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
She rises also while it is yet night, gives food to her household, and portions for her servant girls.
Elle pense à un champ, et elle l'acquiert ; du fruit de son travail elle plante une vigne.
Consideró la heredad, y compróla; y plantó viña del fruto de sus manos.
She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
She considers a field, and buys it. With the fruit of her hands, she plants a vineyard.
Elle met à ses reins une ceinture de force, et fortifie ses bras.
Ciñó sus lomos de fortaleza, y esforzó sus brazos.
She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
She arms her waist with strength, and makes her arms strong.
Elle goûte les bons effets de son industrie ! la nuit sa lampe ne s'éteint point.
Gustó que era buena su granjería: su candela no se apagó de noche.
She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp doesn’t go out by night.
Elle porte la main à la quenouille, et ses doigts prennent le fuseau.
Aplicó sus manos al huso, y sus manos tomaron la rueca.
She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
She lays her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.
Elle ouvre sa main au pauvre, et tend la main au misérable.
Alargó su mano al pobre, y extendió sus manos al menesteroso.
She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
She opens her arms to the poor; yes, she extends her hands to the needy.
Pour sa maison elle ne redoute point la neige ; car toute sa maison est pourvue d'étoffes précieuses ;
No tendrá temor de la nieve por su familia, porque toda su familia está vestida de ropas dobles.

Elle fait des tuniques, et les vend, et livre des ceintures au Cananéen.
Hizo telas, y vendió; y dió cintas al mercader.
She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
She makes linen garments and sells them, and delivers sashes to the merchant.
Elle est revêtue de force et de dignité, et elle se rit du lendemain.
Fortaleza y honor son su vestidura; y en el día postrero reirá.
Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
Strength and dignity are her clothing. She laughs at the time to come.
Elle ouvre la bouche avec sagesse, et sa langue instruit avec grâce.
Abrió su boca con sabiduría: y la ley de clemencia está en su lengua.
She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

Elle observe le mouvement de sa maison, et ne mange pas le pain d'oisiveté.
Considera los caminos de su casa, y no come el pan de balde.

Ses fils se lèvent, et la disent heureuse, son mari {}se lève{}, et lui donne des louanges :
Levantáronse sus hijos, y llamáronla bienaventurada; y su marido también la alabó.
Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

Muchas mujeres hicieron el bien; mas tú las sobrepujaste á todas.
Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

La grâce est illusion, et la beauté, vanité ; c'est la femme craignant Dieu qu'on doit louer.
Engañosa es la gracia, y vana la hermosura: la mujer que teme á Jehová, ésa será alabada.
Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

Faites-la jouir du fruit de son travail ! Qu'aux Portes ses œuvres la louent !
Dadle el fruto de sus manos, y alábenla en las puertas sus hechos.
