HIJO mío, si tomares mis palabras, y mis mandamientos guardares dentro de ti,
My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;

sodass du dein Ohr der Weisheit leihst / dein Herz der Vernunft zuneigst, /
Haciendo estar atento tu oído á la sabiduría; si inclinares tu corazón á la prudencia;
So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;
so as to turn your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding;
ja, wenn du der Einsicht rufst, / nach der Vernunft die Stimme erhebst, /
Si clamares á la inteligencia, y á la prudencia dieres tu voz;
Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;
yes, if you call out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding;
wenn du nach ihr suchst wie nach Silber / und ihr nachspürst wie verborgenen Schätzen - /
Si como á la plata la buscares, y la escudriñares como á tesoros;
If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures;
alsdann wirst du verstehen, was Furcht des Herrn ist, / und Gotteserkenntnis finden; /
Entonces entenderás el temor de Jehová, y hallarás el conocimiento de Dios.
Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

denn der Herr gibt Weisheit, / aus seinem Munde kommt Vernunft und Erkenntnis, / (a) Hio 32:8
Porque Jehová da la sabiduría, y de su boca viene el conocimiento y la inteligencia.
For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

er spart den Rechtschaffenen Heil auf, / er beschirmt die, welche unsträflich wandeln, /
El provee de sólida sabiduría á los rectos: es escudo á los que caminan rectamente.
He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.
He lays up sound wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity,
indem er die Pfade des Rechtes behütet / und über dem Weg seiner Frommen wacht - /
Es el que guarda las veredas del juicio, y preserva el camino de sus santos.
He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.

alsdann wirst du verstehen, was Recht und Gerechtigkeit, / was Geradheit ist, jegliche Bahn des Guten; /
Entonces entenderás justicia, juicio, y equidad, y todo buen camino.
Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.
Then you will understand righteousness and justice, equity and every good path.
denn die Weisheit wird in dein Herz kommen / und die Erkenntnis die Lust deiner Seele sein; /
Cuando la sabiduría entrare en tu corazón, y la ciencia fuere dulce á tu alma,
When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;
For wisdom will enter into your heart. Knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
die Besonnenheit wird über dir wachen, / die Vernunft dich behüten, /
El consejo te guardará, te preservará la inteligencia:
Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:

indem sie dich vor dem Wege des Bösen bewahrt, / vor dem, der Verkehrtes redet, /
Para librarte del mal camino, de los hombres que hablan perversidades;
To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;
to deliver you from the way of evil, from the men who speak perverse things,
vor denen, die die rechte Strasse verlassen, / um auf finstern Wegen zu wandeln, /
Que dejan las veredas derechas, por andar en caminos tenebrosos;
Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
who forsake the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness,
die sich freuen, Böses zu tun, / über böse Ränke frohlocken, /
Que se alegran haciendo mal, que se huelgan en las perversidades del vicio;
Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;

die krumme Pfade einschlagen / und Irrwege gehen auf ihren Bahnen - / (a) Ps 125:5
Cuyas veredas son torcidas, y torcidos sus caminos.
Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:

Para librarte de la mujer extraña, de la ajena que halaga con sus palabras;
To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;
to deliver you from the strange woman, even from the foreigner who flatters with her words,
die den Genossen ihrer Jugend verlässt, / sich nicht kümmert um das Gesetz ihres Gottes; /
Que desampara el príncipe de su mocedad, y se olvida del pacto de su Dios.
Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.

denn zum Tode senkt sich ihr Pfad / und ihre Bahnen zu den Schatten; / (a) Spr 5:5; 7:27; 9:18; 21:16
Por lo cual su casa está inclinada á la muerte, y sus veredas hacia los muertos:
For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead.

alle, die zu ihr eingehen, kehren nicht wieder, / gelangen nicht zu den Pfaden des Lebens - /
Todos los que á ella entraren, no volverán, ni tomarán las veredas de la vida.
None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.
None who go to her return again, neither do they attain to the paths of life.
damit du wandlest auf dem Wege der Guten / und auf dem Pfad der Gerechten verharrest; /
Para que andes por el camino de los buenos, y guardes las veredas de los justos.

Mas los impíos serán cortados de la tierra, y los prevaricadores serán de ella desarraigados.
But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.
