Septante en francais
1Si tu t'assieds pour dîner à la table d'un prince, fais bien attention à ce qui te sera présenté
2puis étends la main, sachant qu'il convient qu'on te serve de tels mets ; toutefois, même si tu as grand appétit,
3ne convoite point leur repas ; car c'est là une vie factice.
4Si tu es pauvre, n'aspire pas à la richesse ; repousse-la même en pensée.
5Si tu fixes ton regard sur elle, tu la vois disparaître ; car elle a, comme l'aigle, des ailes prêtes à s'envoler, et retourne à la maison de son premier maître.
6Ne dîne pas avec un homme envieux ; ne désire rien de sa table ;
7car il mange et il boit comme on avalerait un cheveu. Ne l'introduis pas chez toi, et ne mange pas un morceau avec lui ;
8car il le vomirait et souillerait tes meilleures paroles.
9Ne dis rien à l'insensé, de peur que peut-être il ne tourne en dérision tes sages discours.
10Ne dépasse pas les bornes anciennes, et n'entre pas dans le champ de l'orphelin ;
11car il est fort celui que le Seigneur rachète ; et, si tu es en procès avec lui, Dieu plaidera sa cause.
12Livre ton cœur à la discipline, et prépare ton oreille aux paroles de la doctrine.
13Ne cesse de corriger un enfant ; car si tu le frappes de verges, il n'en mourra pas.
14Et si tu le frappes de verges, tu sauveras son âme de la mort.
15Mon fils, si ton cœur est sage, tu réjouiras aussi mon cœur ;
16et si tes lèvres sont droites, elles converseront avec mes lèvres.
17Que ton cœur ne porte point envie aux pécheurs ; mais sois toujours dans la crainte de Dieu.
18Car si tu observes ces choses, tu auras des descendants, et ton espérance ne sera pas trompée.
19Écoute, mon fils, et sois sage ; et maintiens droites les pensées de ton cœur.
20Ne sois pas buveur de vin ; évite les longs banquets et la profusion des viandes.
21Car l'ivrogne et le débauché mendieront ; le paresseux sera revêtu de haillons en lambeaux.
22Écoute, mon fils, le père qui t'a engendré, et ne méprise pas ta mère parce qu'elle a vieilli.

24Un père juste élève bien ses enfants, et la sagesse d'un fils réjouit son âme.
25Que ton père et ta mère se réjouissent en toi, et que celle qui t'a enfanté soit heureuse.
26Mon fils, donne-moi ton cœur ; que tes yeux gardent mes voies.
27La maison étrangère est comme un tonneau percé ; il est étroit le puits de l'étranger.
28Celui qui les recherche périra bientôt, et tout pécheur sera détruit.
29Pour qui les gémissements ? Pour qui le trouble ? Pour qui les contestations ? Pour qui les ennuis et les entretiens frivoles ? Pour qui les repentirs inutiles ? Pour qui les yeux livides ?
30N'est-ce pas pour ceux qui passent leur temps dans l'ivresse et qui hantent les lieux où l'on boit ?
31Ne vous enivrez pas ; mais faites votre société des hommes justes, et fréquentez-les publiquement. Car si vos yeux s'arrêtent sur les fioles et les coupes, plus tard vous marcherez plus nu qu'un pilon à mortier.
32L'homme ivre finit par s'étendre comme si un serpent l'avait mordu ; le venin se répand sur lui comme de la dent d'un reptile.
33Si tes yeux regardent une femme étrangère, la langue aussitôt divaguera,
34et tu seras gisant comme au sein de la mer, et comme un pilote au milieu de l'orage.
35Et tu diras : On m'a frappé, et je n'en ai pas souffert ; on s'est joué de moi, et je ne m'en suis pas douté ; quand viendra l'aurore, pour m'en aller encore chercher des hommes avec qui je puisse me retrouver ?

1CUANDO te sentares á comer con algún señor, considera bien lo que estuviere delante de ti;
2Y pon cuchillo á tu garganta, si tienes gran apetito.
3No codicies sus manjares delicados, porque es pan engañoso.
4No trabajes por ser rico; pon coto á tu prudencia.
5¿Has de poner tus ojos en las riquezas, siendo ningunas? porque hacerse han alas, como alas de águila, y volarán al cielo.
6No comas pan de hombre de mal ojo, ni codicies sus manjares:
7Porque cual es su pensamiento en su alma, tal es él. Come y bebe, te dirá; mas su corazón no está contigo.
8Vomitarás la parte que tú comiste, y perderás tus suaves palabras.
9No hables á oídos del necio; porque menospreciará la prudencia de tus razones.
10No traspases el término antiguo, ni entres en la heredad de los huérfanos:
11Porque el defensor de ellos es el Fuerte, el cual juzgará la causa de ellos contra ti.
12Aplica tu corazón á la enseñanza, y tus oídos á las palabras de sabiduría.
13No rehuses la corrección del muchacho: porque si lo hirieres con vara, no morirá.
14Tú lo herirás con vara, y librarás su alma del infierno.
15Hijo mío, si tu corazón fuere sabio, también á mí se me alegrará el corazón;
16Mis entrañas también se alegrarán, cuando tus labios hablaren cosas rectas.
17No tenga tu corazón envidia de los pecadores, antes persevera en el temor de Jehová todo tiempo:
18Porque ciertamente hay fin, y tu esperanza no será cortada.
19Oye tú, hijo mío, y sé sabio, y endereza tu corazón al camino.
20No estés con los bebedores de vino, ni con los comedores de carne:
21Porque el bebedor y el comilón empobrecerán: y el sueño hará vestir vestidos rotos.
22Oye á tu padre, á aquel que te engendró; y cuando tu madre envejeciere, no la menosprecies.
23Compra la verdad, y no la vendas; la sabiduría, la enseñanza, y la inteligencia.
24Mucho se alegrará el padre del justo: y el que engendró sabio se gozará con él.
25Alégrense tu padre y tu madre, y gócese la que te engendró.
26Dame, hijo mío, tu corazón, y miren tus ojos por mis caminos.
27Porque sima profunda es la ramera, y pozo angosto la extraña.
28También ella, como robador, acecha, y multiplica entre los hombres los prevaricadores.
29¿Para quién será el ay? ¿para quién el ay? ¿para quién las rencillas? ¿para quién las quejas? ¿para quién las heridas en balde? ¿para quién lo amoratado de los ojos?
30Para los que se detienen mucho en el vino, para los que van buscando la mistura.
31No mires al vino cuando rojea, cuando resplandece su color en el vaso: éntrase suavemente;
32Mas al fin como serpiente morderá, y como basilisco dará dolor:
33Tus ojos mirarán las extrañas, y tu corazón hablará perversidades.
34Y serás como el que yace en medio de la mar, ó como el que está en la punta de un mastelero.
35Y dirás: Hiriéronme, mas no me dolió; azotáronme, mas no lo sentí; cuando despertare, aun lo tornaré á buscar.

1When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before thee:
2And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite.
3Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat.
4Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.
5Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.
6Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats:
7For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.
8The morsel which thou hast eaten shalt thou vomit up, and lose thy sweet words.
9Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.
10Remove not the old landmark; and enter not into the fields of the fatherless:
11For their redeemer is mighty; he shall plead their cause with thee.
12Apply thine heart unto instruction, and thine ears to the words of knowledge.
13Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.
14Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.
15My son, if thine heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine.
16Yea, my reins shall rejoice, when thy lips speak right things.
17Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long.
18For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.

23Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.
24The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him.
25Thy father and thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall rejoice.
26My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.
27For a whore is a deep ditch; and a strange woman is a narrow pit.
28She also lieth in wait as for a prey, and increaseth the transgressors among men.
29Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes?
30They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine.
31Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright.
32At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.
33Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things.
34Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast.
35They have stricken me, shalt thou say, and I was not sick; they have beaten me, and I felt it not: when shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.

1When you sit to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before you;
2put a knife to your throat if you are a man given to appetite.
3Don’t be desirous of his dainties, since they are deceitful food.
4Don’t weary yourself to be rich. In your wisdom, show restraint.
5Why do you set your eyes on that which is not? For it certainly sprouts wings like an eagle and flies in the sky.
6Don’t eat the food of him who has a stingy eye, and don’t crave his delicacies,
7for as he thinks about the cost, so he is. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, but his heart is not with you.
8You will vomit up the morsel which you have eaten and waste your pleasant words.
9Don’t speak in the ears of a fool, for he will despise the wisdom of your words.
10Don’t move the ancient boundary stone. Don’t encroach on the fields of the fatherless,
11for their Defender is strong. He will plead their case against you.
12Apply your heart to instruction, and your ears to the words of knowledge.
13Don’t withhold correction from a child. If you punish him with the rod, he will not die.
14Punish him with the rod, and save his soul from Sheol.
15My son, if your heart is wise, then my heart will be glad, even mine.
16Yes, my heart will rejoice when your lips speak what is right.
17Don’t let your heart envy sinners, but rather fear the LORD all day long.
18Indeed surely there is a future hope, and your hope will not be cut off.
19Listen, my son, and be wise, and keep your heart on the right path!
20Don’t be among ones drinking too much wine, or those who gorge themselves on meat;
21for the drunkard and the glutton shall become poor; and drowsiness clothes them in rags.
22Listen to your father who gave you life, and don’t despise your mother when she is old.
23Buy the truth, and don’t sell it. Get wisdom, discipline, and understanding.
24The father of the righteous has great joy. Whoever fathers a wise child delights in him.
25Let your father and your mother be glad! Let her who bore you rejoice!
26My son, give me your heart; and let your eyes keep in my ways.
27For a prostitute is a deep pit; and a wayward wife is a narrow well.
28Yes, she lies in wait like a robber, and increases the unfaithful among men.
29Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has strife? Who has complaints? Who has needless bruises? Who has bloodshot eyes?
30Those who stay long at the wine; those who go to seek out mixed wine.
31Don’t look at the wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it goes down smoothly.
32In the end, it bites like a snake, and poisons like a viper.
33Your eyes will see strange things, and your mind will imagine confusing things.
34Yes, you will be as he who lies down in the middle of the sea, or as he who lies on top of the rigging:
35“They hit me, and I was not hurt! They beat me, and I don’t feel it! When will I wake up? I can do it again. I will look for more.”
