1Ein guter Name ist köstlicher als viel Reichtum, / und Gunst ist besser als Silber und Gold. / (a) Pre 7:2
2Reich und arm begegnen einander, / sie sind alle das Werk des Herrn. / (a) Spr 29:13
3Der Kluge sieht das Unglück kommen und birgt sich; / die Einfältigen gehen fürbass und müssen es büssen. / (a) Spr 27:12
4Der Lohn der Demut und Gottesfurcht / ist Reichtum und Ehre und Leben. /
5Angeln und Schlingen sind auf dem Wege des Falschen; / wer sein Leben erhalten will, bleibt ihnen fern. /
6Gewöhne den Knaben nach dem, was sein Weg erheischt, / so geht er auch im Alter nicht davon ab. /
7Der Reiche hat die Armen in seiner Gewalt, / und der Schuldner ist des Gläubigers Knecht. /
8Wer Unrecht sät, der erntet Unheil, / und der Stecken seines Übermutes bricht entzwei. / (a) Hio 4:8
9Wer gütig blickt, wird gesegnet werden; / denn er gibt dem Armen von seiner Speise. /
10Jage den Spötter hinaus, so geht auch der Zank, / und Hadern und Schmähen hört auf. /
11Wer reines Herzens ist, den liebt der Herr; / wes Lippen voll Anmut sind, des Freund ist der König. /
12Die Augen des Herrn bewahren, was sie gesehen, / und so bringt er des Treulosen Worte zu Fall. /

14Eine tiefe Grube ist der Buhlerinnen Mund; / wem der Herr zürnt, der fällt hinein. / (a) Spr 23:27
15Die Torheit steckt dem Knaben im Herzen; / aber die Rute der Zucht vertreibt sie daraus. / (a) Spr 29:15
16Wenn man den Armen bedrückt, so hilft's ihm zum Reichtum; / wenn man dem Reichen gibt, so hilft's ihm nur zur Verarmung. /
17WORTE von Weisen. Neige dein Ohr und höre auf meine Worte; / sei darauf bedacht, zu erkennen, wie lieblich sie sind. /
18Wenn du sie in deinem Innern bewahrst, / so werden sie allzumal auf deinen Lippen bereit sein. /
19Damit du dein Vertrauen auf den Herrn setzest, / belehre ich dich heute über deinen Weg. /
20Schon gestern habe ich dir geschrieben, / schon ehegestern, mit kundigen Ratschlägen, /
21dich Wahrheit zu lehren, zuverlässige Worte, / dass du dem, der dich fragt, richtig antworten kannst.
22Beraube nicht den Geringen, weil er gering ist, / und zertritt nicht den Elenden vor Gericht; / (a) 2Mo 22:23 24
23denn der Herr wird ihre Sache führen / und, die sie berauben, des Lebens berauben. /
24Mache nicht Freundschaft mit dem Zornmütigen, / mit dem Jähzornigen gehe nicht um, /
25dass du dich nicht an seine Pfade gewöhnest / und dir einen Fallstrick für dein Leben holest. /
26Sei nicht unter denen, die sich durch Handschlag verpflichten, / unter denen, die sich für Schulden verbürgen; / (a) Spr 6:1-5
27wenn du dann nicht zu zahlen vermagst, / so wird man dir das Bett unter dem Leib wegnehmen. /
28Verrücke nicht die uralte Grenze, / die deine Väter gesetzt haben. / (a) Spr 23:10; 5Mo 19:14
29Siehst du einen Mann geschickt in seinem Berufe - / in Königsdienst darf er treten, / Niedrigen wird er nicht dienen. /

1DE más estima es la buena fama que las muchas riquezas; y la buena gracia más que la plata y el oro.
2El rico y el pobre se encontraron: á todos ellos hizo Jehová.
3El avisado ve el mal, y escóndese: mas los simples pasan, y reciben el daño.
4Riquezas, y honra, y vida, son la remuneración de la humildad y del temor de Jehová.
5Espinas y lazos hay en el camino del perverso: el que guarda su alma se alejará de ellos.
6Instruye al niño en su carrera: aun cuando fuere viejo no se apartará de ella.
7El rico se enseñoreará de los pobres; y el que toma prestado, siervo es del que empresta.
8El que sembrare iniquidad, iniquidad segará: y consumiráse la vara de su ira.
9El ojo misericordioso será bendito, porque dió de su pan al indigente.
10Echa fuera al escarnecedor, y saldrá la contienda, y cesará el pleito y la afrenta.
11El que ama la limpieza de corazón, por la gracia de sus labios su amigo será el rey.
12Los ojos de Jehová miran por la ciencia; mas él trastorna las cosas de los prevaricadores.
13Dice el perezoso: El león está fuera; en mitad de las calles seré muerto.
14Sima profunda es la boca de las extrañas: aquel contra el cual estuviere Jehová airado, caerá en ella.
15La necedad está ligada en el corazón del muchacho; mas la vara de la corrección la hará alejar de él.
16El que oprime al pobre para aumentarse él, y que da al rico, ciertamente será pobre.
17Inclina tu oído, y oye las palabras de los sabios, y pon tu corazón á mi sabiduría:
18Porque es cosa deleitable, si las guardares en tus entrañas; y que juntamente sean ordenadas en tus labios.
19Para que tu confianza sea en Jehová, te las he hecho saber hoy á ti también.
20¿No te he escrito tres veces en consejos y ciencia,
21Para hacerte saber la certidumbre de las razones verdaderas, para que puedas responder razones de verdad á los que á ti enviaren?
22No robes al pobre, porque es pobre, ni quebrantes en la puerta al afligido:
23Porque Jehová juzgará la causa de ellos, y despojará el alma de aquellos que los despojaren.
24No te entrometas con el iracundo, ni te acompañes con el hombre de enojos;
25Porque no aprendas sus maneras, y tomes lazo para tu alma.
26No estés entre los que tocan la mano, entre los que fían por deudas.
27Si no tuvieres para pagar, ¿por qué han de quitar tu cama de debajo de ti?
28No traspases el término antiguo que pusieron tus padres.
29¿Has visto hombre solícito en su obra? delante de los reyes estará; no estará delante de los de baja suerte.

1A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.
2The rich and poor meet together: the LORD is the maker of them all.
3A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.
4By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life.
5Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward: he that doth keep his soul shall be far from them.
6Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
7The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.
8He that soweth iniquity shall reap vanity: and the rod of his anger shall fail.
9He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.
10Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease.
11He that loveth pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend.
12The eyes of the LORD preserve knowledge, and he overthroweth the words of the transgressor.
13The slothful man saith, There is a lion without, I shall be slain in the streets.
14The mouth of strange women is a deep pit: he that is abhorred of the LORD shall fall therein.
15Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.
16He that oppresseth the poor to increase his riches, and he that giveth to the rich, shall surely come to want.
17Bow down thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thine heart unto my knowledge.
18For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee; they shall withal be fitted in thy lips.
19That thy trust may be in the LORD, I have made known to thee this day, even to thee.
20Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge,
21That I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee?
22Rob not the poor, because he is poor: neither oppress the afflicted in the gate:
23For the LORD will plead their cause, and spoil the soul of those that spoiled them.
24Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go:
25Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.
26Be not thou one of them that strike hands, or of them that are sureties for debts.
27If thou hast nothing to pay, why should he take away thy bed from under thee?
28Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.
29Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.

4The result of humility and the fear of the LORD is wealth, honor, and life.
5Thorns and snares are in the path of the wicked; whoever guards his soul stays far from them.
6Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
7The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender.
8He who sows wickedness reaps trouble, and the rod of his fury will be destroyed.
9He who has a generous eye will be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor.
10Drive out the mocker, and strife will go out; yes, quarrels and insults will stop.
11He who loves purity of heart and speaks gracefully is the king’s friend.
12The LORD’s eyes watch over knowledge, but he frustrates the words of the unfaithful.
13The sluggard says, “There is a lion outside! I will be killed in the streets!”
14The mouth of an adulteress is a deep pit. He who is under the LORD’s wrath will fall into it.
15Folly is bound up in the heart of a child; the rod of discipline drives it far from him.
16Whoever oppresses the poor for his own increase and whoever gives to the rich, both come to poverty.
17Turn your ear, and listen to the words of the wise. Apply your heart to my teaching.
18For it is a pleasant thing if you keep them within you, if all of them are ready on your lips.
19I teach you today, even you, so that your trust may be in the LORD.
20Haven’t I written to you thirty excellent things of counsel and knowledge,
21To teach you truth, reliable words, to give sound answers to the ones who sent you?
22Don’t exploit the poor because he is poor; and don’t crush the needy in court;
23for the LORD will plead their case, and plunder the life of those who plunder them.
24Don’t befriend a hot-tempered man. Don’t associate with one who harbors anger,
25lest you learn his ways and ensnare your soul.
26Don’t you be one of those who strike hands, of those who are collateral for debts.
27If you don’t have means to pay, why should he take away your bed from under you?
28Don’t move the ancient boundary stone which your fathers have set up.
29Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will serve kings. He won’t serve obscure men.
