Nehemías 5

Es erhob sich aber ein großes Geschrei seitens der gewöhnlichen Leute und ihrer Weiber gegen ihre jüdischen Brüder.

ENTONCES fué grande el clamor del pueblo y de sus mujeres contra los Judíos sus hermanos.

And there was a great cry of the people and of their wives against their brethren the Jews.

Da sagten welche: Unsere Söhne und Töchter müssen wir verpfänden; möge man uns doch Getreide zukommen lassen, damit wir zu essen haben und am Leben bleiben!

Y había quien decía: Nosotros, nuestros hijos y nuestras hijas, somos muchos: hemos por tanto tomado grano para comer y vivir.

For there were that said, We, our sons, and our daughters, are many: therefore we take up corn for them, that we may eat, and live.

For there were some who said, “We, our sons and our daughters, are many. Let us get grain, that we may eat and live.”

Und andere sagten: Unsere Felder und Weinberge und Häuser müssen wir verpfänden; möge man uns doch Getreide zukommen lassen in der Teuerung!

Y había quienes decían: Hemos empeñado nuestras tierras, y nuestras viñas, y nuestras casas, para comprar grano en el hambre.

Some also there were that said, We have mortgaged our lands, vineyards, and houses, that we might buy corn, because of the dearth.

There were also some who said, “We are mortgaging our fields, our vineyards, and our houses. Let us get grain, because of the famine.”

Und wieder andere sagten: Wir haben zur Beschaffung der königlichen Steuer auf unsere Felder und Weinberge Geld geliehen.

Y había quienes decían: Hemos tomado prestado dinero para el tributo del rey, sobre nuestras tierras y viñas.

There were also that said, We have borrowed money for the king’s tribute, and that upon our lands and vineyards.

Und nun, obwohl unser Leib schließlich ebenso viel wert ist wie unserer Brüder Leib, unsere Kinder wie ihre Kinder, so müssen wir doch unsere Söhne und unsere Töchter zu leibeigenen Knechten machen; auch einige von unseren Töchtern sind bereits leibeigen geworden. Und wir können nichts dagegen thun, da doch unsere Felder und unsere Weinberge anderen gehören.

Ahora bien, nuestra carne es como la carne de nuestros hermanos, nuestros hijos como sus hijos: y he aquí que nosotros sujetamos nuestros hijos y nuestras hijas á servidumbre, y hay algunas de nuestras hijas sujetas: mas no hay facultad en nuestras manos para rescatarlas, porque nuestras tierras y nuestras viñas son de otros.

Yet now our flesh is as the flesh of our brethren, our children as their children: and, lo, we bring into bondage our sons and our daughters to be servants, and some of our daughters are brought unto bondage already: neither is it in our power to redeem them; for other men have our lands and vineyards.

und sprach zu ihnen: Wir haben unsere jüdischen Brüder, die an die Heiden verkauft waren, losgekauft, so oft es uns möglich war. Ihr aber wollt gar eure Brüder verkaufen, daß sie an uns verkauft werden? Da schwiegen sie still und wußten nichts zu antworten.

And I said unto them, We after our ability have redeemed our brethren the Jews, which were sold unto the heathen; and will ye even sell your brethren? or shall they be sold unto us? Then held they their peace, and found nothing to answer.

I said to them, “We, after our ability, have redeemed our brothers the Jews that were sold to the nations; and would you even sell your brothers, and should they be sold to us?” Then they held their peace, and found not a word to say.

Und ich sprach: es ist nicht schön, daß ihr so handelt! Solltet ihr nicht vielmehr in der Furcht unseres Gottes wandeln, schon um der Schmähung der Heiden, unserer Feinde, willen?

Y dije: No es bien lo que hacéis, ¿no andaréis en temor de nuestro Dios, por no ser el oprobio de las gentes enemigas nuestras?

Also I said, It is not good that ye do: ought ye not to walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the heathen our enemies?

Auch ich, sowie meine Brüder und meine Leute haben ihnen Geld und Getreide dargeliehen; so wollen wir doch diese Schuldforderung fallen lassen!

También yo, y mis hermanos, y mis criados, les hemos prestado dinero y grano: relevémosles ahora de este gravamen.

I likewise, and my brethren, and my servants, might exact of them money and corn: I pray you, let us leave off this usury.

Restore, I pray you, to them, even this day, their lands, their vineyards, their oliveyards, and their houses, also the hundredth part of the money, and of the corn, the wine, and the oil, that ye exact of them.

Da sprachen sie: Wir wollen sie zurückgeben und nichts von ihnen zurückverlangen; wir wollen thun, wie du wünschest. Da ließ ich die Priester rufen und ließ ihnen einen Eid abnehmen, daß sie demgemäß verfahren wollten.

Then said they, We will restore them, and will require nothing of them; so will we do as thou sayest. Then I called the priests, and took an oath of them, that they should do according to this promise.

Auch schüttelte ich meinen Busen aus und sprach: So möge Gott einen jeden, der diesem seinem Versprechen untreu wird, aus seinem Hause und seinem Eigentum ausschütteln, und so soll er ausgeschüttelt und ausgeleert sein! Da sprach die ganze Versammlung: Amen! und pries Jahwe. Und das Volk verfuhr demgemäß.

Además sacudí mi vestido, y dije: Así sacuda Dios de su casa y de su trabajo á todo hombre que no cumpliere esto, y así sea sacudido y vacío. Y respondió toda la congregación: ¡Amén! Y alabaron á Jehová. Y el pueblo hizo conforme á esto.

Also I shook my lap, and said, So God shake out every man from his house, and from his labour, that performeth not this promise, even thus be he shaken out, and emptied. And all the congregation said, Amen, and praised the LORD. And the people did according to this promise.

Übrigens habe ich von dem Tage an, an dem er mich beorderte, ihr Statthalter im Lande Juda zu sein - vom zwanzigsten Jahre bis zum zweiunddreißigsten Jahre des Königs Arthahsastha, also zwölf Jahre lang -, samt meinen Brüdern die dem Statthalter gebührende Kost nicht bezogen,

También desde el día que me mandó el rey que fuese gobernador de ellos en la tierra de Judá, desde el año veinte del rey Artajerjes hasta el año treinta y dos, doce años, ni yo ni mis hermanos comimos el pan del gobernador.

Moreover from the time that I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year even unto the two and thirtieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that is, twelve years, I and my brethren have not eaten the bread of the governor.

También en la obra de este muro instauré mi parte, y no compramos heredad: y todos mis criados juntos estaban allí á la obra.

Die Juden aber, sowohl die Vorsteher, hundertundfünfzig an der Zahl, als auch die, welche aus den rings um uns befindlichen Heidenländern zu uns kamen, aßen an meinem Tisch;

und was für jeden einzelnen Tag zugerichtet zu werden pflegte - ein Stier, sechs auserlesene Schafe und Geflügel -, das wurde auf meine Kosten zugerichtet, und überdies je innerhalb zehn Tagen ein großes Quantum von allerlei Wein. Bei alledem habe ich die dem Statthalter gebührende Kost nicht beansprucht, denn die Fronpflicht lastete schwer auf diesem Volke.

Acuérdate de mí para bien, Dios mío, y de todo lo que hice á este pueblo.

Think upon me, my God, for good, according to all that I have done for this people.
