1Après quelque temps, Jésus rentra à Capharnaüm, et l`on apprit qu`il était dans la maison.
2Il s`y rassembla tant de gens qu`il n`y avait plus de place, même aux abords de la porte; et il leur donnait l`enseignement.
3Et on vient amenant vers lui un paralytique, porté à quatre.
4Et, comme ils ne pouvaient l`amener jusqu`à lui à cause de la foule, ils découvrirent le toit à l`endroit où il était, et, ayant fait une ouverture, ils descendirent le grabat où le paralytique était étendu.
5Jésus, voyant leur foi, dit au paralytique : " Mon fils, tes péchés sont remis. "
6Or il y avait assis là quelques scribes, qui pensaient en eux-mêmes :
7" Comment celui-ci parle-t-il ainsi? Il blasphème. Qui peut remettre les péchés sinon Dieu seul? "
8Jésus, ayant aussitôt connu par son esprit qu`ils pensaient ainsi en eux-mêmes, leur dit : " Pourquoi avez-vous ces pensées en vous-mêmes?
9Lequel est le plus facile, de dire au paralytique : " Tes péchés sont remis, " ou de dire : " Lève-toi, prends ton grabat et marche? "
10Mais, pour que vous sachiez que le Fils de l`homme a, sur la terre, le pouvoir de remettre les péchés, - il dit au paralytique :
11Je te le dis : lève-toi, prends ton grabat et va dans ta maison. "
12Et il se dressa et, ayant aussitôt pris son grabat, il sortit devant tout le monde, si bien que tous étaient stupéfaits et rendaient gloire à Dieu, disant : " Jamais nous n`avons rien vu de semblable ! "
13Il sortit une autre fois le long de la mer; et toute la foule venait à lui, et il les enseignait.
14En passant, il vit Lévi, fils d`Alphée, assis au bureau du fisc, et il lui dit : " Suis-moi. " Lévi se leva et le
15Il arriva que Jésus étant à table dans la maison de cet homme, beaucoup de publicains et de pécheurs étaient à table avec lui et ses disciples, car ils étaient nombreux à l`avoir suivi.
16Les scribes (du parti) des Pharisiens, le voyant manger avec les pécheurs et les publicains, disaient à ses disciples : " Pourquoi mange-t-il et boit-il avec les publicains et les pécheurs? "
17Entendant cela, Jésus leur dit : " Ce ne sont pas les bien portants qui ont besoin de médecin, mais les malades. Je ne suis pas venu appeler les justes, mais les pécheurs. "
18Les disciples de Jean et les Pharisiens observaient le jeûne. Ils vinrent lui dire : " Pourquoi, tandis que les disciples de Jean et les disciples des Pharisiens observent le jeûne, vos disciples ne l`observent-ils pas? "
19Jésus leur dit : " Les amis de l`époux peuvent-ils observer le jeûne pendant que l`époux est avec eux? Aussi longtemps qu`ils ont avec eux l`époux, ils ne peuvent observer le jeûne.
20Mais des jours viendront où l`époux leur sera enlevé, et alors ils observeront le jeûne en ce jour-là.
21Personne ne coud une pièce d`étoffe écrue à un vieux vêtement : autrement le morceau rapporté en emporte quelque chose, le neuf du vieux, et la déchirure devient pire.
22Personne, non plus, ne met du vin nouveau dans des outres vieilles : autrement le vin fait éclater les outres, et le vin est perdu ainsi que les outres. Mais vin nouveau dans outres neuves ! "
23Il arriva, un jour de sabbat, qu`il traversait des moissons, et ses disciples, chemin faisant, se mirent à arracher les épis.
24Les Pharisiens lui dirent : " Voyez ! Pourquoi font-ils, le jour du sabbat, ce qui n`est pas permis? "
25Et il leur dit : " N`avez-vous jamais lu ce que fit David lorsqu`il fut dans le besoin et eut faim, lui et ceux qui étaient avec lui :
26comment il entra dans la maison de Dieu, au temps du grand prêtre Abiathar, et mangea les pains de proposition, qu`il n`est permis de manger qu`aux prêtres seuls, et en donna aussi à ceux qui étaient avec lui? "
27Et il leur disait : " Le sabbat a été fait pour l`homme, et non l`homme pour le sabbat;
28si bien que le Fils de l`homme est maître même du sabbat. "

1Y ENTRÓ otra vez en Capernaum después de algunos días, y se oyó que estaba en casa.
2Y luego se juntaron á él muchos, que ya no cabían ni aun á la puerta; y les predicaba la palabra.
3Entonces vinieron á él unos trayendo un paralítico, que era traído por cuatro.
4Y como no podían llegar á él á causa del gentío, descubrieron el techo de donde estaba, y haciendo abertura, bajaron el lecho en que yacía el paralítico.
5Y viendo Jesús la fe de ellos, dice al paralítico: Hijo, tus pecados te son perdonados.
6Y estaban allí sentados algunos de los escribas, los cuales pensando en sus corazones,
7Decían: ¿Por qué habla éste así? Blasfemias dice. ¿Quién puede perdonar pecados, sino solo Dios?
8Y conociendo luego Jesús en su espíritu que pensaban así dentro de sí mismos, les dijo: ¿Por qué pensáis estas cosas en vuestros corazones?
9¿Qué es más fácil, decir al paralítico: Tus pecados te son perdonados, ó decirle: Levántate, y toma tu lecho y anda?
10Pues para que sepáis que el Hijo del hombre tiene potestad en la tierra de perdonar los pecados, (dice al paralítico):
11A ti te digo: Levántate, y toma tu lecho, y vete á tu casa.
12Entonces él se levantó luego, y tomando su lecho, se salió delante de todos, de manera que todos se asombraron, y glorificaron á Dios, diciendo: Nunca tal hemos visto.
13Y volvió á salir á la mar, y toda la gente venía á él, y los enseñaba.
14Y pasando, vió á Leví, hijo de Alfeo, sentado al banco de los públicos tributos, y le dice: Sígueme. Y levantándose le siguió.
15Y aconteció que estando Jesús á la mesa en casa de él, muchos publicanos y pecadores estaban también á la mesa juntamente con Jesús y con sus discípulos: porque había muchos, y le habían seguido.
16Y los escribas y los Fariseos, viéndole comer con los publicanos y con los pecadores, dijeron á sus discípulos: ¿Qué es esto, que él come y bebe con los publicanos y con los pecadores?
17Y oyéndolo Jesús, les dice: Los sanos no tienen necesidad de médico, mas los que tienen mal. No he venido á llamar á los justos, sino á los pecadores.
18Y los discípulos de Juan, y de los Fariseos ayunaban; y vienen, y le dicen: ¿Por qué los discípulos de Juan y los de los Fariseos ayunan, y tus discípulos no ayunan?
19Y Jesús les dice: ¿Pueden ayunar los que están de bodas, cuando el esposo está con ellos? Entre tanto que tienen consigo al esposo no pueden ayunar.
20Mas vendrán días, cuando el esposo les será quitado, y entonces en aquellos días ayunarán.
21Nadie echa remiendo de paño recio en vestido viejo; de otra manera el mismo remiendo nuevo tira del viejo, y la rotura se hace peor.
22Ni nadie echa vino nuevo en odres viejos; de otra manera, el vino nuevo rompe los odres, y se derrama el vino, y los odres se pierden; mas el vino nuevo en odres nuevos se ha de echar.
23Y aconteció que pasando él por los sembrados en sábado, sus discípulos andando comenzaron á arrancar espigas.
24Entonces los Fariseos le dijeron: He aquí, ¿por qué hacen en sábado lo que no es lícito?
25Y él les dijo: ¿Nunca leísteis qué hizo David cuando tuvo necesidad, y tuvo hambre, él y los que con él estaban:
26Cómo entró en la casa de Dios, siendo Abiathar sumo pontífice, y comió los panes de la proposición, de los cuales no es lícito comer sino á los sacerdotes, y aun dió á los que con él estaban?
27También les dijo: El sábado por causa del hombre es hecho; no el hombre por causa del sábado.
28Así que el Hijo del hombre es Señor aun del sábado.

1And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house.
2And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them.
3And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.
4And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
5When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.
6But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,
7Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?
8And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?
9Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?
10But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)
11I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.
12And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.
13And he went forth again by the sea side; and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them.
14And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphæus sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.
15And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him.
16And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners?
17When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
18And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees used to fast: and they come and say unto him, Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not?
19And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
20But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.
21No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, and the rent is made worse.
22And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.
23And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn.
24And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful?
25And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him?
26How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him?
27And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
28Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

1When he entered again into Capernaum after some days, it was heard that he was at home.
2Immediately many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even around the door; and he spoke the word to them.
3Four people came, carrying a paralytic to him.
4When they could not come near to him for the crowd, they removed the roof where he was. When they had broken it up, they let down the mat that the paralytic was lying on.
5Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”
6But there were some of the scribes sitting there and reasoning in their hearts,
7“Why does this man speak blasphemies like that? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
8Immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, said to them, “Why do you reason these things in your hearts?
9Which is easier, to tell the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven;’ or to say, ‘Arise, and take up your bed, and walk’?
10But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he said to the paralytic—
11“I tell you, arise, take up your mat, and go to your house.”
12He arose, and immediately took up the mat and went out in front of them all, so that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”
13He went out again by the seaside. All the multitude came to him, and he taught them.
14As he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax office. He said to him, “Follow me.” And he arose and followed him.
15He was reclining at the table in his house, and many tax collectors and sinners sat down with Jesus and his disciples, for there were many, and they followed him.
16The scribes and the Pharisees, when they saw that he was eating with the sinners and tax collectors, said to his disciples, “Why is it that he eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?”
17When Jesus heard it, he said to them, “Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
18John’s disciples and the Pharisees were fasting, and they came and asked him, “Why do John’s disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples don’t fast?”
19Jesus said to them, “Can the groomsmen fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they can’t fast.
20But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast in that day.
21No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, or else the patch shrinks and the new tears away from the old, and a worse hole is made.
22No one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine will burst the skins, and the wine pours out, and the skins will be destroyed; but they put new wine into fresh wineskins.”
23He was going on the Sabbath day through the grain fields; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of grain.
24The Pharisees said to him, “Behold, why do they do that which is not lawful on the Sabbath day?”
25He said to them, “Did you never read what David did when he had need and was hungry—he, and those who were with him?
26How he entered into God’s house at the time of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the show bread, which is not lawful to eat except for the priests, and gave also to those who were with him?”
27He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.
28Therefore the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath.”
