14Diese kamen und sprachen zu ihm: Meister, wir wissen, daß du wahrhaftig bist und dich um niemand kümmerst; denn du siehst die Person der Menschen nicht an, sondern lehrst den Weg Gottes der Wahrheit gemäß. Ist es erlaubt, dem Kaiser die Steuer zu geben, oder nicht? Sollen wir sie geben oder nicht?

14And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Cæsar, or not?

14When they had come, they asked him, “Teacher, we know that you are honest, and don’t defer to anyone; for you aren’t partial to anyone, but truly teach the way of God. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?
