1Jesus aber trat zu ihnen, rührete sie an und sprach: Stehet auf und fürchtet euch nicht!
2Da sie aber ihre Augen aufhuben, sahen sie niemand denn Jesus alleine.
3Und da sie vom Berge herabgingen, gebot ihnen Jesus und sprach: Ihr sollt dies Gesicht niemand sagen, bis des Menschen Sohn von den Toten auferstanden ist.
4Und seine Jünger fragten ihn und sprachen: Was sagen denn die Schriftgelehrten, Elia müsse zuvor kommen?
5Jesus antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Elia soll ja zuvor kommen und alles zurechtbringen.
6Doch ich sage euch: Es ist Elia schon kommen, und sie haben ihn nicht erkannt, sondern haben an ihm getan, was sie wollten. Also wird auch des Menschen Sohn leiden müssen von ihnen.
7Da verstunden die Jünger, daß er von Johannes dem Täufer zu ihnen geredet hatte.
8Und da sie zu dem Volk kamen, trat zu ihm ein Mensch und fiel ihm zu Füßen
9und sprach: HERR, erbarme dich über meinen Sohn; denn er ist mondsüchtig und hat ein schweres Leiden; er fällt oft ins Feuer und oft ins Wasser.
10Und ich habe ihn zu deinen Jüngern gebracht, und sie konnten ihm nicht helfen.
11Jesus aber antwortete und sprach:O du ungläubige und verkehrte Art, wie lange soll ich bei euch sein? Wie lange soll ich euch dulden? Bringet mir ihn hieher!
12Und Jesus bedräuete ihn; und der Teufel fuhr aus von ihm, und der Knabe ward gesund zu derselbigen Stunde.
13Da traten zu ihm seine Jünger besonders und sprachen: Warum konnten wir ihn nicht austreiben?
14Jesus aber antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Um eures Unglaubens willen. Denn ich sage euch: Wahrlich, so ihr Glauben habt wie ein Senfkorn, so möget ihr sagen zu diesem Berge: Heb' dich von hinnen dorthin! so wird er sich heben, und euch wird nichts unmöglich sein.
15Aber diese Art fährt nicht aus denn durch Beten und Fasten.
16Da sie aber ihr Wesen hatten in Galiläa, sprach Jesus zu ihnen: Es ist zukünftig, daß des Menschen Sohn überantwortet werde in der Menschen Hände.
17Und sie werden ihn töten; und am dritten Tage wird er auferstehen. Und sie wurden sehr betrübt.
18Da sie nun gen Kapernaum kamen, gingen zu Petrus, die den Zinsgroschen einnahmen, und sprachen: Pflegt euer Meister nicht den Zinsgroschen zu geben?
19Er sprach: Ja. Und als er heimkam, kam ihm Jesus zuvor und sprach: Was dünkt dich, Simon? Von wem nehmen die Könige auf Erden den Zoll oder Zins, MT 17:von ihren Kindern oder von den Fremden?
20Da sprach zu ihm Petrus: Von den Fremden. Jesus sprach zu ihm: So sind die Kinder frei.
21Auf daß aber wir sie nicht ärgern, so gehe hin an das Meer und wirf die Angel, und den ersten Fisch, der herauffährt, den nimm; und wenn du seinen Mund auftust, wirst du einen Stater finden. Denselbigen nimm und gib ihn für mich und dich.
22Zu derselbigen Stunde traten die Jünger zu Jesus und sprachen: Wer ist doch der Größte im Himmelreich?
23Jesus rief ein Kind zu sich und stellete das mitten unter sie
24und sprach: Wahrlich, ich sage euch, es sei denn, daß ihr euch umkehret und werdet wie die Kinder, so werdet ihr nicht ins Himmelreich kommen.
25Wer nun sich selbst niedriget wie dies Kind, der ist der Größte im Himmelreich.
26Und wer ein solches Kind aufnimmt in meinem Namen, der nimmt mich auf.
27Wer aber ärgert dieser Geringsten einen, die an mich glauben, dem wäre besser, daß ein Mühlstein an seinen Hals gehänget, und er ersäuft würde im Meer, da es am tiefsten ist.

1Y DESPUÉS de seis días, Jesús toma á Pedro, y á Jacobo, y á Juan su hermano, y los lleva aparte á un monte alto:
2Y se transfiguró delante de ellos; y resplandeció su rostro como el sol, y sus vestidos fueron blancos como la luz.
3Y he aquí les aparecieron Moisés y Elías, hablando con él.
4Y respondiendo Pedro, dijo á Jesús: Señor, bien es que nos quedemos aquí: si quieres, hagamos aquí tres pabellones: para ti uno, y para Moisés otro, y otro para Elías.
5Y estando aún él hablando, he aquí una nube de luz que los cubrió; y he aquí una voz de la nube, que dijo: Este es mi Hijo amado, en el cual tomo contentamiento: á él oid.
6Y oyendo esto los discípulos, cayeron sobre sus rostros, y temieron en gran manera.
7Entonces Jesús llegando, los tocó, y dijo: Levantaos, y no temáis.
8Y alzando ellos sus ojos, á nadie vieron, sino á solo Jesús.
9Y como descendieron del monte, les mandó Jesús, diciendo: No digáis á nadie la visión, hasta que el Hijo del hombre resucite de los muertos.
10Entonces sus discípulos le preguntaron, diciendo: ¿Por qué dicen pues los escribas que es menester que Elías venga primero?
11Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: A la verdad, Elías vendrá primero, y restituirá todas las cosas.
12Mas os digo, que ya vino Elías, y no le conocieron; antes hicieron en él todo lo que quisieron: así también el Hijo del hombre padecerá de ellos.
13Los discípulos entonces entendieron, que les habló de Juan el Bautista.
14Y como ellos llegaron al gentío, vino á él un hombre hincándosele de rodillas,
15Y diciendo: Señor, ten misericordia de mi hijo, que es lunático, y padece malamente; porque muchas veces cae en el fuego, y muchas en el agua.
16Y le he presentado á tus discípulos, y no le han podido sanar.
17Y respondiendo Jesús, dijo: ¡Oh generación infiel y torcida! ¿hasta cuándo tengo de estar con vosotros? ¿hasta cuándo os tengo de sufrir? traédmele acá.
18Y Jesús le reprendió, y salió el demonio de él; y el mozo fué sano desde aquella hora.
19Entonces, llegándose los discípulos á Jesús, aparte, dijeron: ¿Por qué nosotros no lo pudimos echar fuera?
20Y Jesús les dijo: Por vuestra incredulidad; porque de cierto os digo, que si tuviereis fe como un grano de mostaza, diréis á este monte: Pásate de aquí allá: y se pasará: y nada os será imposible.
21Mas este linaje no sale sino por oración y ayuno.
22Y estando ellos en Galilea, Jesús les dijo: El Hijo del hombre será entregado en manos de hombres,
23Y le matarán; mas al tercer día resucitará. Y ellos se entristecieron en gran manera.
24Y como llegaron á Capernaum, vinieron á Pedro los que cobraban las dos dracmas, y dijeron: ¿Vuestro Maestro no paga las dos dracmas?
25El dice: Sí. Y entrando él en casa, Jesús le habló antes, diciendo: ¿Qué te parece, Simón? Los reyes de la tierra, ¿de quién cobran los tributos ó el censo? ¿de sus hijos ó de los extraños?
26Pedro le dice: De los extraños. Jesús le dijo: Luego los hijos son francos.
27Mas porque no los escandalicemos, ve á la mar, y echa el anzuelo, y el primer pez que viniere, tómalo, y abierta su boca, hallarás un estatero: tómalo, y dáselo por mí y por ti.

1And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
2And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
3And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.
4Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
5While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
6And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.
7And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.
8And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.
9And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.
10And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come?
11And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.
12But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.
13Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.
14And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying,
15Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.
16And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.
17Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.
18And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.
19Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
20And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
21Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
22And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men:
23And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry.
24And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute?
25He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers?
26Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free.
27Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.

1After six days, Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John his brother, and brought them up into a high mountain by themselves.
2He was changed before them. His face shone like the sun, and his garments became as white as the light.
3Behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them talking with him.
4Peter answered and said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you want, let’s make three tents here: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
5While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. Behold, a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.”
6When the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces, and were very afraid.
7Jesus came and touched them and said, “Get up, and don’t be afraid.”
8Lifting up their eyes, they saw no one, except Jesus alone.
9As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, “Don’t tell anyone what you saw, until the Son of Man has risen from the dead.”
10His disciples asked him, saying, “Then why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”
11Jesus answered them, “Elijah indeed comes first, and will restore all things;
12but I tell you that Elijah has come already, and they didn’t recognize him, but did to him whatever they wanted to. Even so the Son of Man will also suffer by them.”
13Then the disciples understood that he spoke to them of John the Baptizer.
14When they came to the multitude, a man came to him, kneeling down to him and saying,
15“Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is epileptic and suffers grievously; for he often falls into the fire, and often into the water.
16So I brought him to your disciples, and they could not cure him.”
17Jesus answered, “Faithless and perverse generation! How long will I be with you? How long will I bear with you? Bring him here to me.”
18Jesus rebuked the demon, and it went out of him, and the boy was cured from that hour.
19Then the disciples came to Jesus privately, and said, “Why weren’t we able to cast it out?”
20He said to them, “Because of your unbelief. For most certainly I tell you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
21But this kind doesn’t go out except by prayer and fasting.”
22While they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is about to be delivered up into the hands of men,
23and they will kill him, and the third day he will be raised up.” They were exceedingly sorry.
24When they had come to Capernaum, those who collected the didrachma coins came to Peter, and said, “Doesn’t your teacher pay the didrachma?”
25He said, “Yes.” When he came into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth receive toll or tribute? From their children, or from strangers?”
26Peter said to him, “From strangers.” Jesus said to him, “Therefore the children are exempt.
27But, lest we cause them to stumble, go to the sea, cast a hook, and take up the first fish that comes up. When you have opened its mouth, you will find a stater coin. Take that, and give it to them for me and you.”
