1Después de esto eligió el Señor otros setenta y dos discípulos, a los cuales envió delante de él, de dos en dos. Por todas las ciudades y lugares adonde había de venir él mismo.
2Y les decía: La mies de la verdad es mucha, mas los trabajadores pocos; rogad, pues, al dueño de la mies que envíe obreros a su mies.
3Id vosotros, he aquí que yo os envío a predicar como corderos entre lobos.
4No llevéis bolsillo ni alforja, ni zapatos, ni os paréis a saludar a nadie por el camino.
5Al entrar en cualquier casa, decid ante todas las cosas: La paz sea en esta casa;
6que si en ella hubiere algún hijo de la paz, descansará vuestra paz sobre él; donde no, se volverá a vosotros.
7Y perseverad, en aquella misma casa, comiendo y bebiendo de lo que tengan; pues el que trabaja, merece su recompensa. No andéis pasando de casa en casa.
8En cualquier ciudad que entrareis y os hospedaren, comed lo que os pusieren delante,
9y curad a los enfermos que en ella hubiere, y decidles: El reino de Dios está cerca de vosotros.
10Pero si en la ciudad donde hubiereis entrado, no quisieren recibiros, saliendo a las plazas, decid:
11Hasta el polvo que se nos ha pegado de vuestra ciudad, lo sacudimos contra vosotros; mas sabed que el reino de Dios está cerca.
12Yo os aseguro que Sodoma será tratada el día aquel, con menos rigor que tal ciudad.
13¡Ay de ti Corozaín!, ¡ay de ti Betsaida!, porque si en Tiro y en Sidón se hubiesen hecho los milagros que se han hecho en vosotras, hace tiempo que hubieran hecho penitencia cubiertas de cilicio, y yaciendo sobre la ceniza.
14Por eso Tiro y Sidón serán juzgadas con más clemencia que vosotras.
15Y tú, ¡oh Cafarnaúm!, que te has levantado hasta el cielo, serás abatida hasta el infierno.
16El que os escucha a vosotros, me escucha a mí; y el que os desprecia a vosotros, a mí me desprecia. Y quien a mí me desprecia, desprecia a aquel que me ha enviado.
17Regresaron los setenta y dos discípulos llenos de gozo, diciendo: Señor, hasta los demonios mismos se sujetan a nosotros por la virtud de tu nombre.
18A lo que les respondió: Yo estaba viendo a Satanás caer del cielo a manera de relámpagos.
19Vosotros veis que os he dado potestad de hollar serpientes, y escorpiones, y todo el poder del enemigo, de suerte que nada podrá hacer daño.
20Con todo eso, no tanto habéis de gozaros, porque se os rinden los espíritus, cuanto porque vuestros nombres están escritos en los cielos.
21En aquel mismo punto Jesús manifestó un extraordinario gozo, al impulso del Espíritu Santo, y dijo: Yo te alabo, Padre, Señor del cielo y de la tierra, porque has encubierto estas cosas a los sabios y prudentes del siglo, y las has descubierto a los humildes y pequeños. Así es, ¡oh Padre!, porque así fue tu beneplácito.
22El Padre ha puesto en mi mano todas las cosas. Y nadie conoce quién es el Hijo, sino el Padre; ni quién es el Padre, sino el Hijo, y aquel a quien el Hijo quisiera revelarlo.
23Y vuelto a sus discípulos, dijo: Bienaventurados los ojos que ven lo que vosotros veis;
24pues os aseguro que muchos profetas y reyes desearon ver lo que vosotros veis, y no lo vieron; como también oír las cosas que vosotros oís, y no las oyeron.
25Se levantó entonces un doctor de la ley, y le dijo con el fin de tentarle: Maestro, ¿qué debo yo hacer para conseguir la vida eterna?
26Le dijo Jesús : ¿Qué es lo que se halla escrito en la ley? ¿Qué es lo que en ella lees?
27Respondió él: Amarás al Señor Dios tuyo de todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma, y con todas tus fuerzas, y con toda tu mente, y al prójimo como a ti mismo.
28Le replicó Jesús : Bien has respondido, has eso y vivirás.
29Mas él queriendo dar a entender que era justo, preguntó a Jesús : ¿Y quién es mi prójimo?
30Entonces Jesús tomando la palabra, dijo: Bajaba un hombre de Jerusalén a Jericó , y cayó en manos de ladrones, que le despojaron de todo, le cubrieron de heridas, y se fueron, dejándolo medio muerto.
31Bajaba casualmente por el mismo camino un sacerdote, y aunque le vio pasó de largo.
32Igualmente un levita, a pesar de que se halló vecino al sitio, y le miró, tiró adelante.
33Pero un caminante samaritano, llegó adonde estaba, y viéndole se movió a compasión;
34y arrimándose, vendó sus heridas bañándolas con aceite y vino; y subiéndole en su cabalgadura, le condujo al mesón, y cuidó de él.
35Al día siguiente sacó dos denarios, y se los dio al mesonero, diciéndole: Cuídame este hombre; y todo lo que gastares de más yo te lo abonaré a mi vuelta.
36¿Quién de estos tres te parece haber sido prójimo del que cayó en manos de los ladrones?
37Aquel, respondió el doctor, que usó con él de misericordia. Pues anda, le dijo Jesús , y haz tú otro tanto.
38Prosiguiendo Jesús su viaje a Jerusalén , entró en cierta aldea, donde una mujer, por nombre Marta, lo hospedó en su casa.
39Tenía ésta una hermana llamada María, la cual sentada también a los pies del Señor estaba escuchando su palabra.
40Mientras tanto Marta andaba muy afanada en disponer todo lo que era menester, por lo cual se presentó a Jesús y dijo: Señor, ¿no reparas que mi hermana me ha dejado sola en las faenas de la casa? Dile, pues, que me ayude.
41Pero el Señor le dio estas respuestas: Marta, Marta, tú te afanas y acongojas en muchísimas cosas;
42y a la verdad que una sola cosa es necesaria. María ha escogido la mejor suerte, de que jamás será privada.

1Y DESPUÉS de estas cosas, designó el Señor aun otros setenta, los cuales envió de dos en dos delante de sí, á toda ciudad y lugar á donde él había de venir.
2Y les decía: La mies á la verdad es mucha, mas los obreros pocos; por tanto, rogad al Señor de la mies que envíe obreros á su mies.
3Andad, he aquí yo os envío como corderos en medio de lobos.
4No llevéis bolsa, ni alforja, ni calzado; y á nadie saludéis en el camino.
5En cualquiera casa donde entrareis, primeramente decid: Paz sea á esta casa.
6Y si hubiere allí algún hijo de paz, vuestra paz reposará sobre él; y si no, se volverá á vosotros.
7Y posad en aquella misma casa, comiendo y bebiendo lo que os dieren; porque el obrero digno es de su salario. No os paséis de casa en casa.
8Y en cualquier ciudad donde entrareis, y os recibieren, comed lo que os pusieren delante;
9Y sanad los enfermos que en ella hubiere, y decidles: Se ha llegado á vosotros el reino de Dios.
10Mas en cualquier ciudad donde entrareis, y no os recibieren, saliendo por sus calles, decid:
11Aun el polvo que se nos ha pegado de vuestra ciudad á nuestros pies, sacudimos en vosotros: esto empero sabed, que el reino de los cielos se ha llegado á vosotros.
12Y os digo que los de Sodoma tendrán más remisión aquel día, que aquella ciudad.
13¡Ay de ti, Corazín! ¡Ay de ti, Bethsaida! que si en Tiro y en Sidón hubieran sido hechas las maravillas que se han hecho en vosotras, ya días ha que, sentados en cilicio y ceniza, se habrían arrepentido.
14Por tanto, Tiro y Sidón tendrán más remisión que vosotras en el juicio.
15Y tú, Capernaum, que hasta los cielos estás levantada, hasta los infiernos serás abajada.
16El que á vosotros oye, á mí oye; y el que á vosotros desecha, á mí desecha; y el que á mí desecha, desecha al que me envió.
17Y volvieron los setenta con gozo, diciendo: Señor, aun los demonios se nos sujetan en tu nombre.
18Y les dijo: Yo veía á Satanás, como un rayo, que caía del cielo.
19He aquí os doy potestad de hollar sobre las serpientes y sobre los escorpiones, y sobre toda fuerza del enemigo, y nada os dañará.
20Mas no os gocéis de esto, que los espíritus se os sujetan; antes gozaos de que vuestros nombres están escritos en los cielos.
21En aquella misma hora Jesús se alegró en espíritu, y dijo: Yo te alabo, oh Padre, Señor del cielo y de la tierra, que escondiste estas cosas á los sabios y entendidos, y las has revelado á los pequeños: así, Padre, porque así te agradó.
22Todas las cosas me son entregadas de mi Padre: y nadie sabe quién sea el Hijo sino el Padre; ni quién sea el Padre, sino el Hijo, y á quien el Hijo lo quisiere revelar.
23Y vuelto particularmente á los discípulos, dijo: Bienaventurados los ojos que ven lo que vosotros veis:
24Porque os digo que muchos profetas y reyes desearon ver lo que vosotros veis, y no lo vieron; y oir lo que oís, y no lo oyeron.
25Y he aquí, un doctor de la ley se levantó, tentándole y diciendo: Maestro, ¿haciendo qué cosa poseeré la vida eterna?
26Y él le dijo: ¿Qué está escrito en la ley? ¿cómo lees?
27Y él respondiendo, dijo: Amarás al Señor tu Dios de todo tu corazón, y de toda tu alma, y de todas tus fuerzas, y de todo tu entendimiento; y á tu prójimo como á ti mismo.
28Y díjole: Bien has respondido: haz esto, y vivirás.
29Mas él, queriéndose justificar á sí mismo, dijo á Jesús: ¿Y quién es mi prójimo?
30Y respondiendo Jesús, dijo: Un hombre descendía de Jerusalem á Jericó, y cayó en manos de ladrones, los cuales le despojaron; é hiriéndole, se fueron, dejándole medio muerto.
31Y aconteció, que descendió un sacerdote por aquel camino, y viéndole, se pasó de un lado.
32Y asimismo un Levita, llegando cerca de aquel lugar, y viéndole, se pasó de un lado.
33Mas un Samaritano que transitaba, viniendo cerca de él, y viéndole, fué movido á misericordia;
34Y llegándose, vendó sus heridas, echándoles aceite y vino; y poniéndole sobre su cabalgadura, llevóle al mesón, y cuidó de él.
35Y otro día al partir, sacó dos denarios, y diólos al huésped, y le dijo: Cuídamele; y todo lo que de más gastares, yo cuando vuelva te lo pagaré.
36¿Quién, pues, de estos tres te parece que fué el prójimo de aquél que cayó en manos de los ladrones?
37Y él dijo: El que usó con él de misericordia. Entonces Jesús le dijo: Ve, y haz tú lo mismo.
38Y aconteció que yendo, entró él en una aldea: y una mujer llamada Marta, le recibió en su casa.
39Y ésta tenía una hermana que se llamaba María, la cual sentándose á los pies de Jesús, oía su palabra.
40Empero Marta se distraía en muchos servicios; y sobreviniendo, dice: Señor, ¿no tienes cuidado que mi hermana me deja servir sola? Dile pues, que me ayude.
41Pero respondiendo Jesús, le dijo: Marta, Marta, cuidadosa estás, y con las muchas cosas estás turbada:
42Empero una cosa es necesaria; y María escogió la buena parte, la cual no le será quitada.

1After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.
2Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
3Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
4Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.
5And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.
6And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.
7And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.
8And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:
9And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
10But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,
11Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
12But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.
13Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
14But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.
15And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.
16He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.
17And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
18And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
19Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
20Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
21In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
22All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
23And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:
24For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
25And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
26He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
27And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
28And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
29But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?
30And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
31And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
32And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
33But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
34And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
35And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
36Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
37And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.
38Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
39And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.
40But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
41And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
42But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

1Now after these things, the Lord also appointed seventy others, and sent them two by two ahead of him into every city and place where he was about to come.
2Then he said to them, “The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that he may send out laborers into his harvest.
3Go your ways. Behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.
4Carry no purse, nor wallet, nor sandals. Greet no one on the way.
5Into whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house.’
6If a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you.
7Remain in that same house, eating and drinking the things they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Don’t go from house to house.
8Into whatever city you enter and they receive you, eat the things that are set before you.
9Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘God’s Kingdom has come near to you.’
10But into whatever city you enter and they don’t receive you, go out into its streets and say,
11‘Even the dust from your city that clings to us, we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that God’s Kingdom has come near to you.’
12I tell you, it will be more tolerable in that day for Sodom than for that city.
13“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
14But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you.
15You, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades.
16Whoever listens to you listens to me, and whoever rejects you rejects me. Whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me.”
17The seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!”
18He said to them, “I saw Satan having fallen like lightning from heaven.
19Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you.
20Nevertheless, don’t rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
21In that same hour, Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, “I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight.”
22Turning to the disciples, he said, “All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is, except the Father, and who the Father is, except the Son, and he to whomever the Son desires to reveal him.”
23Turning to the disciples, he said privately, “Blessed are the eyes which see the things that you see,
24for I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see the things which you see, and didn’t see them, and to hear the things which you hear, and didn’t hear them.”
25Behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
26He said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you read it?”
27He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
28He said to him, “You have answered correctly. Do this, and you will live.”
29But he, desiring to justify himself, asked Jesus, “Who is my neighbor?”
30Jesus answered, “A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who both stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
31By chance a certain priest was going down that way. When he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
32In the same way a Levite also, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.
33But a certain Samaritan, as he traveled, came where he was. When he saw him, he was moved with compassion,
34came to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. He set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
35On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the host, and said to him, ‘Take care of him. Whatever you spend beyond that, I will repay you when I return.’
36Now which of these three do you think seemed to be a neighbor to him who fell among the robbers?”
37He said, “He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”
38As they went on their way, he entered into a certain village, and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
39She had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard his word.
40But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she came up to him, and said, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister left me to serve alone? Ask her therefore to help me.”
41Jesus answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things,
42but one thing is needed. Mary has chosen the good part, which will not be taken away from her.”
