Levítico 1

Aquele que estiver fazendo a oferta colocará a mão sobre a cabeça do animal, para que seja aceito no seu lugar. Ou seja, o animal é sacrificado, sofrendo no lugar do homem o castigo dos seus pecados, e o homem fica livre do castigo desses pecados.

Y pondrá su mano sobre la cabeza del holocausto; y él lo aceptará para expiarle.

And he shall put his hand upon the head of the burnt offering; and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him.
