le dijo el Señor a Moisés: «Adviértele a tu hermano Aarón que no puede entrar en cualquier momento al Lugar Santísimo, que está detrás de la cortina, donde se encuentra el cofre del pacto cubierto con el propiciatorio. El castigo por hacerlo es la muerte. Porque yo mismo estoy presente en la nube que está sobre el propiciatorio.
Y Jehová dijo á Moisés: Di á Aarón tu hermano, que no en todo tiempo entre en el santuario del velo adentro, delante de la cubierta que está sobre el arca, para que no muera: porque yo apareceré en la nube sobre la cubierta.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron thy brother, that he come not at all times into the holy place within the vail before the mercy seat, which is upon the ark; that he die not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat.

»Sólo cumpliendo estas condiciones podrá entrar: Deberá ofrecer un novillo como ofrenda por su pecado, y un carnero para el holocausto.
Con esto entrará Aarón en el santuario: con un becerro por expiación, y un carnero en holocausto.
Thus shall Aaron come into the holy place: with a young bullock for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering.

Se bañará y se pondrá las vestiduras sagradas, la túnica de lino, los calzones de lino, el cinturón de lino y el turbante de lino.
La túnica santa de lino se vestirá, y sobre su carne tendrá pañetes de lino, y ceñiráse el cinto de lino; y con la mitra de lino se cubrirá: son las santas vestiduras: con ellas, después de lavar su carne con agua, se ha de vestir.
He shall put on the holy linen coat, and he shall have the linen breeches upon his flesh, and shall be girded with a linen girdle, and with the linen mitre shall he be attired: these are holy garments; therefore shall he wash his flesh in water, and so put them on.
He shall put on the holy linen tunic. He shall have the linen trousers on his body, and shall put on the linen sash, and he shall be clothed with the linen turban. They are the holy garments. He shall bathe his body in water, and put them on.
»Entonces el pueblo de Israel le llevará dos machos cabríos para la ofrenda por el pecado y un carnero para el holocausto.
Y de la congregación de los hijos de Israel tomará dos machos de cabrío para expiación, y un carnero para holocausto.
And he shall take of the congregation of the children of Israel two kids of the goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering.

En primer lugar, ofrecerá al Señor el novillo como sacrificio expiatorio por su propio pecado y el pecado de su familia.

Mas el macho cabrío, sobre el cual cayere la suerte por Azazel, lo presentará vivo delante de Jehová, para hacer la reconciliación sobre él, para enviarlo á Azazel al desierto.

»Después de que Aarón haya sacrificado el novillo como ofrenda expiatoria por sí mismo y por su familia,
Y hará llegar Aarón el becerro que era suyo para expiación, y hará la reconciliación por sí y por su casa, y degollará en expiación el becerro que es suyo.

tomará un incensario lleno de brasas del altar, y dos puñados de incienso aromático, finamente molido, y entrará al recinto que está detrás de la cortina.
Después tomará el incensario lleno de brasas de fuego, del altar de delante de Jehová, y sus puños llenos del perfume aromático molido, y meterálo del velo adentro:
And he shall take a censer full of burning coals of fire from off the altar before the LORD, and his hands full of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the vail:

Allí, delante del Señor, pondrá incienso sobre las brasas, para que la nube de incienso cubra el propiciatorio que está sobre el cofre del pacto. De esta manera no morirá.

Llevará sangre del novillo y rociará siete veces con su dedo la parte oriental del propiciatorio, y siete veces delante del propiciatorio.

Then shall he kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the vail, and do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat:

Así purificará el santuario de los pecados de los hijos de Israel. Y lo mismo hará por el santuario que está en medio de ellos, rodeado de sus impurezas.
Y limpiará el santuario, de las inmundicias de los hijos de Israel, y de sus rebeliones, y de todos sus pecados: de la misma manera hará también al tabernáculo del testimonio, el cual reside entre ellos en medio de sus inmundicias.
And he shall make an atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins: and so shall he do for the tabernacle of the congregation, that remaineth among them in the midst of their uncleanness.

Ninguna otra persona entrará al santuario cuando Aarón entre allí a hacer la purificación. Nadie podrá entrar al santuario mientras Aarón esté haciendo expiación por sí mismo, por su familia, y por todo el pueblo de Israel.
Y ningún hombre estará en el tabernáculo del testimonio cuando él entrare á hacer la reconciliación en el santuario, hasta que él salga, y haya hecho la reconciliación por sí, y por su casa, y por toda la congregación de Israel.
And there shall be no man in the tabernacle of the congregation when he goeth in to make an atonement in the holy place, until he come out, and have made an atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the congregation of Israel.
No one shall be in the Tent of Meeting when he enters to make atonement in the Holy Place, until he comes out, and has made atonement for himself and for his household, and for all the assembly of Israel.
»Luego Aarón saldrá y hará expiación sobre el altar. Pondrá sangre del novillo y del macho cabrío sobre los cuernos del altar,
Y saldrá al altar que está delante de Jehová, y lo expiará; y tomará de la sangre del becerro, y de la sangre del macho cabrío, y pondrá sobre los cuernos del altar alrededor.
And he shall go out unto the altar that is before the LORD, and make an atonement for it; and shall take of the blood of the bullock, and of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about.

»Cuando haya terminado de purificar el santuario, la Tienda de reunión y el altar, tomará el macho cabrío vivo,
Y cuando hubiere acabado de expiar el santuario, y el tabernáculo del testimonio, y el altar, hará llegar el macho cabrío vivo:
And when he hath made an end of reconciling the holy place, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar, he shall bring the live goat:
“When he has finished atoning for the Holy Place, the Tent of Meeting, and the altar, he shall present the live goat.
pondrá las manos sobre la cabeza del animal y confesará sobre él los pecados del pueblo de Israel. Depositará todos los pecados sobre la cabeza del animal y lo enviará al desierto por medio de un hombre designado para eso.
Y pondrá Aarón ambas manos suyas sobre la cabeza del macho cabrío vivo, y confesará sobre él todas las iniquidades de los hijos de Israel, y todas sus rebeliones, y todos sus pecados, poniéndolos así sobre la cabeza del macho cabrío, y lo enviará al desierto por mano de un hombre destinado para esto.
And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness:

El hombre lo soltará en el desierto, y de este modo el macho cabrío llevará todos los pecados del pueblo a una tierra deshabitada.
Y aquel macho cabrío llevará sobre sí todas las iniquidades de ellos á tierra inhabitada: y dejará ir el macho cabrío por el desierto.
And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness.

»Aarón entrará en el santuario nuevamente; se quitará las vestiduras de lino con que entró al Lugar Santísimo, y las dejará en el santuario.
Después vendrá Aarón al tabernáculo del testimonio, y se desnudará las vestimentas de lino, que había vestido para entrar en el santuario, y pondrálas allí.
And Aaron shall come into the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall put off the linen garments, which he put on when he went into the holy place, and shall leave them there:

Se bañará en un lugar santo, se pondrá sus vestiduras y saldrá para ofrecer el holocausto por sí mismo y el holocausto por el pueblo, haciendo, así, expiación por él y por el pueblo.
Lavará luego su carne con agua en el lugar del santuario, y después de ponerse sus vestidos saldrá, y hará su holocausto, y el holocausto del pueblo, y hará la reconciliación por sí y por el pueblo.
And he shall wash his flesh with water in the holy place, and put on his garments, and come forth, and offer his burnt offering, and the burnt offering of the people, and make an atonement for himself, and for the people.
Then he shall bathe himself in water in a holy place, put on his garments, and come out and offer his burnt offering and the burnt offering of the people, and make atonement for himself and for the people.
También quemará sobre el altar la grasa de la ofrenda por el pecado.

»En cuanto al hombre que lleve el macho cabrío al desierto, lavará su ropa, se bañará y luego regresará al campamento.

»El novillo y el macho cabrío que son ofrecidos en sacrificio, cuya sangre será llevada por Aarón al Lugar Santo para hacer expiación, serán llevados fuera del campamento, donde se quemarán junto con la piel y los órganos internos.
Y sacará fuera del real el becerro del pecado, y el macho cabrío de la culpa, la sangre de los cuales fué metida para hacer la expiación en el santuario; y quemarán en el fuego sus pellejos, y sus carnes, y su estiércol.
And the bullock for the sin offering, and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the holy place, shall one carry forth without the camp; and they shall burn in the fire their skins, and their flesh, and their dung.

»Esta es una ley permanente: No trabajarán el décimo día del séptimo mes. Pasarán el día examinándose y humillándose. Esto se aplica a los nacidos en la tierra de Israel y a los extranjeros que vivan entre el pueblo. Es el día en que se celebrará la expiación para que sean limpios de todos sus pecados delante del Señor.
Y esto tendréis por estatuto perpetuo: En el mes séptimo, á los diez del mes, afligiréis vuestras almas, y ninguna obra haréis, ni el natural ni el extranjero que peregrina entre vosotros:
And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you:

Será un día solemne de completo descanso y ayuno. Esta es una ley perpetua.

»En las generaciones venideras, esta ceremonia será oficiada por el sacerdote que haya sido elegido y consagrado en lugar de su padre. Se pondrá las vestiduras sagradas de lino,
Y hará la reconciliación el sacerdote que fuere ungido, y cuya mano hubiere sido llena para ser sacerdote en lugar de su padre; y se vestirá las vestimentas de lino, las vestiduras sagradas:
And the priest, whom he shall anoint, and whom he shall consecrate to minister in the priest’s office in his father’s stead, shall make the atonement, and shall put on the linen clothes, even the holy garments:
The priest, who is anointed and who is consecrated to be priest in his father’s place, shall make the atonement, and shall put on the linen garments, even the holy garments.
y hará expiación por el Lugar Santísimo, por el santuario, es decir, la Tienda de reunión, por el altar, por los sacerdotes y por el pueblo.
Y expiará el santuario santo, y el tabernáculo del testimonio; expiará también el altar, y á los sacerdotes, y á todo el pueblo de la congregación.
And he shall make an atonement for the holy sanctuary, and he shall make an atonement for the tabernacle of the congregation, and for the altar, and he shall make an atonement for the priests, and for all the people of the congregation.

»Esta será una ley permanente para ustedes, para que hagan expiación por los pecados del pueblo de Israel una vez al año». Y todo se hizo conforme a las instrucciones que el Señor le había dado a Moisés.
Y esto tendréis por estatuto perpetuo, para expiar á los hijos de Israel de todos sus pecados una vez en el año. Y Moisés lo hizo como Jehová le mandó.
And this shall be an everlasting statute unto you, to make an atonement for the children of Israel for all their sins once a year. And he did as the LORD commanded Moses.
“This shall be an everlasting statute for you, to make atonement for the children of Israel once in the year because of all their sins.” It was done as the LORD commanded Moses.
