24Eles responderam a Josué e disseram: “Porque foi certamente anunciado aos seus servos como o SENHOR seu Deus ordenou ao seu servo Moisés que lhes desse toda a terra, e que destruísse todos os habitantes da terra de diante de vocês. Portanto, tivemos muito medo por nossas vidas por causa de vocês, e fizemos esta coisa.

24Y ellos respondieron á Josué, y dijeron: Como fué dado á entender á tus siervos, que Jehová tu Dios había mandado á Moisés su siervo que os había de dar toda la tierra, y que había de destruir todos los moradores de la tierra delante de vosotros, por esto temimos en gran manera de vosotros por nuestras vidas, é hicimos esto.

24And they answered Joshua, and said, Because it was certainly told thy servants, how that the LORD thy God commanded his servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you, therefore we were sore afraid of our lives because of you, and have done this thing.
