Josué 24

Depois Josué convocou todo o povo de Israel para comparecer diante dele em Siquém. O povo e todos os líderes, os chefes, os juízes e os oficiais foram convocados, e eles se apresentaram diante de Deus.

Y JUNTANDO Josué todas las tribus de Israel en Sichêm, llamó á los ancianos de Israel, y á sus príncipes, á sus jueces, y á sus oficiales; y presentáronse delante de Dios.

Israel clamou a mim, e eu pus escuridão entre os israelitas e os egípcios e lancei o mar sobre eles, que os cobriu. Vocês viram o que eu fiz! Então, vocês viveram muito tempo no deserto.

Y os introduje en la tierra de los Amorrheos, que habitaban de la otra parte del Jordán, los cuales pelearon contra vosotros; mas yo los entregué en vuestras manos, y poseísteis su tierra, y los destruí de delante de vosotros.

And I brought you into the land of the Amorites, which dwelt on the other side Jordan; and they fought with you: and I gave them into your hand, that ye might possess their land; and I destroyed them from before you.

Então Balaque, filho de Zipor, rei de Moabe, se preparou para guerrear contra Israel, e pediu a Balaão, filho de Beor, que amaldiçoasse vocês.

Y levantóse después Balac hijo de Sephor, rey de los Moabitas, y peleó contra Israel; y envió á llamar á Balaam hijo de Beor, para que os maldijese.

Mas eu não quis dar ouvidos a Balaão. Em vez disso, fiz com que ele abençoasse vocês! Dessa forma, livrei Israel das mãos dele.

Eu causei pânico a eles para expulsarem os amorreus com seus dois reis. Não foram a espada e o arco de vocês que lhes deram a vitória!

Y envié tábanos delante de vosotros, los cuales los echaron de delante de vosotros, á saber, á los dos reyes de los Amorrheos; no con tu espada, ni con tu arco.

And I sent the hornet before you, which drave them out from before you, even the two kings of the Amorites; but not with thy sword, nor with thy bow.

Dei terras em que vocês não trabalharam e cidades que não foram construídas por vocês. E vocês moram nelas e se alimentam das uvas, azeite e azeitonas que vocês não plantaram!’

And I have given you a land for which ye did not labour, and cities which ye built not, and ye dwell in them; of the vineyards and oliveyards which ye planted not do ye eat.

“Agora temam ao Senhor e sirvam a ele com sinceridade e fidelidade. Joguem fora os deuses que seus pais adoravam quando eles viviam para lá do rio Eufrates e no Egito, e sirvam somente ao Senhor!

Ahora pues, temed á Jehová, y servidle con integridad y en verdad; y quitad de en medio los dioses á los cuales sirvieron vuestros padres de esotra parte del río, y en Egipto; y servid á Jehová.

Se, porém, vocês não desejam obedecer ao Senhor, escolham hoje a quem irão servir, se aos deuses falsos dos seus pais do leste do Eufrates, ou aos deuses falsos dos amorreus em cuja terra hoje habitam. Quanto a mim, ouçam bem: Eu e a minha casa serviremos ao Senhor!”

Y si mal os parece servir á Jehová, escogeos hoy á quién sirváis; si á los dioses á quienes sirvieron vuestros padres, cuando estuvieron de esotra parte del río, ó á los dioses de los Amorrheos en cuya tierra habitáis: que yo y mi casa serviremos á Jehová.

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Então o povo respondeu: “Nunca abandonaremos o Senhor! Nunca serviremos a outros deuses!

Entonces el pueblo respondió, y dijo: Nunca tal acontezca, que dejemos á Jehová por servir á otros dioses:

And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods;

Foi o próprio Senhor, o nosso Deus, que libertou os nossos pais da escravidão do Egito. Foi ele que realizou grandes milagres diante dos olhos de Israel. Foi ele que nos protegeu durante a nossa viagem pelo deserto e que nos guardou quando passamos pelas terras dos nossos inimigos.

Porque Jehová nuestro Dios es el que nos sacó á nosotros y á nuestros padres de la tierra de Egipto, de la casa de servidumbre; el cual delante de nuestros ojos ha hecho estas grandes señales, y nos ha guardado por todo el camino por donde hemos andado, y en todos los pueblos por entre los cuales pasamos.

For the LORD our God, he it is that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed:

Foi o Senhor que expulsou os amorreus e os outros povos que viviam nestas terras. Sim! Nós também escolhemos servir ao Senhor! Somente ele é o nosso Deus!”

Y Jehová echó de delante de nosotros á todos los pueblos, y al Amorrheo que habitaba en la tierra: nosotros, pues, también serviremos á Jehová, porque él es nuestro Dios.

And the LORD drave out from before us all the people, even the Amorites which dwelt in the land: therefore will we also serve the LORD; for he is our God.

Então Josué disse ao povo: “Vocês não têm condições de servir ao Senhor, pois ele é Deus santo e zeloso! Ele não perdoará a rebeldia e os pecados de vocês.

Entonces Josué dijo al pueblo: No podréis servir á Jehová, porque él es Dios santo, y Dios celoso; no sufrirá vuestras rebeliones y vuestros pecados.

And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the LORD: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.

Se vocês abandonarem o Senhor e servirem a deuses estranhos, ele se voltará contra vocês e os destruirá, apesar de todo bem que tem feito a vocês!”

Si dejareis á Jehová y sirviereis á dioses ajenos, se volverá, y os maltratará, y os consumirá, después que os ha hecho bien.

If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.

If you forsake the LORD, and serve foreign gods, then he will turn and do you evil, and consume you, after he has done you good.”

Mas o povo respondeu a Josué: “Nós escolhemos servir ao Senhor!”

El pueblo entonces dijo á Josué: No, antes á Jehová serviremos.

And the people said unto Joshua, Nay; but we will serve the LORD.

The people said to Joshua, “No, but we will serve the LORD.”

Disse então Josué: “Vocês são testemunhas do que vocês mesmos disseram. A escolha é de vocês. Vocês resolveram obedecer ao Senhor”. “Sim”, afirmaram eles. “Somos testemunhas”.

Y Josué respondió al pueblo: Vosotros sois testigos contra vosotros mismos, de que os habéis elegido á Jehová para servirle. Y ellos respondieron: Testigos somos.

And Joshua said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you the LORD, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses.

Josué disse: “Então, joguem fora os deuses estranhos que há no meio de vocês, e obedeçam de coração ao Senhor, o Deus de Israel”.

Quitad, pues, ahora los dioses ajenos que están entre vosotros, é inclinad vuestro corazón á Jehová Dios de Israel.

Now therefore put away, said he, the strange gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto the LORD God of Israel.

O povo respondeu a Josué: “Sim, nós vamos servir e obedecer ao Senhor, o nosso Deus”.

Y el pueblo respondió á Josué: A Jehová nuestro Dios serviremos, y á su voz obedeceremos.

And the people said unto Joshua, The LORD our God will we serve, and his voice will we obey.

The people said to Joshua, “We will serve the LORD our God, and we will listen to his voice.”

Josué fez um acordo com o povo naquele dia, em Siquém, levando o povo a assumir um compromisso e a manter um contrato permanente e obrigatório com Deus.

Entonces Josué hizo alianza con el pueblo el mismo día, y púsole ordenanzas y leyes en Sichêm.

Josué registrou a resposta do povo no Livro da Lei de Deus. Depois tomou uma grande pedra, e a ergueu debaixo do carvalho que havia ao lado do Tabernáculo do Senhor.

Y escribió Josué estas palabras en el libro de la ley de Dios; y tomando una grande piedra, levantóla allí debajo de un alcornoque que estaba junto al santuario de Jehová.

Então Josué disse a todo o povo: “Esta pedra nos será por testemunho. Ela ouviu todas as palavras que o Senhor nos disse. Portanto, ela será testemunha para depor contra vocês, caso não cumpram a palavra!”

And Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us; for it hath heard all the words of the LORD which he spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness unto you, lest ye deny your God.

Josué mandou então o povo para casa — cada um para a terra que havia recebido.

So Joshua let the people depart, every man unto his inheritance.

Passado algum tempo, Josué, filho de Num, servo do Senhor, morreu — aos cento e dez anos de idade.

Y después de estas cosas murió Josué, hijo de Nun, siervo de Jehová, siendo de ciento y diez años.

E o enterraram na propriedade que tinha recebido por herança, em Timnate-Sera, na região montanhosa de Efraim, no lado norte das montanhas de Gaás.

Y enterráronlo en el término de su posesión en Timnath-sera, que está en el monte de Ephraim, al norte del monte de Gaas.

And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnath-serah, which is in mount Ephraim, on the north side of the hill of Gaash.

Israel foi obediente ao Senhor durante toda a vida de Josué e dos anciãos que ainda viveram muito tempo depois da morte de Josué, e que tinham sido testemunhas pessoais dos maravilhosos feitos do Senhor em favor de Israel.

Os ossos de José, que os israelitas haviam trazido do Egito, foram enterrados no lugar que Jacó tinha comprado dos filhos de Hamor, pai de Siquém, por cem peças de prata. Aquele terreno ficava dentro do território dado às tribos de José.
