33Ensuite, Eléazar, fils d'Aaron le grand prêtre, mourut, et il fut enseveli en Gabaar, qu'il avait donnée à Phinées, dans la montagne d'Ephraïm. Ce jour-là, les fils d'Israël, ayant pris l'arche de Dieu, la transportèrent dans leurs rangs. Et Phinées fut prêtre à la place de son père Eléazar, jusqu'à ce que lui-même mourut et fut inhumé dans sa terre de Gabaar. Et les fils d'Israël retournèrent chacun en son lieu et dans sa ville, et ils adorèrent Astarté, Astaroth et les dieux des nations qui les entouraient. Et le Seigneur les livra aux mains d'Eglom, roi de Moab, qui les tyrannisa pendant dix-huit ans.
