5Die Schiffer wurden voller Angst; ein jeder schrie zu seinem Gott. Sie warfen das Gepäck ins Meer aus ihrem Schiff, es dadurch zu erleichtern. Doch Jonas war ins Unterteil des Schiffs hinabgestiegen und hatte dort sich hingelegt und war fest eingeschlafen.

5Y los marineros tuvieron miedo, y cada uno llamaba á su dios: y echaron á la mar los enseres que había en la nave, para descargarla de ellos. Jonás empero se había bajado á los lados del buque, y se había echado á dormir.

5Then the mariners were afraid, and cried every man unto his god, and cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to lighten it of them. But Jonah was gone down into the sides of the ship; and he lay, and was fast asleep.

5Then the mariners were afraid, and every man cried to his god. They threw the cargo that was in the ship into the sea to lighten the ship. But Jonah had gone down into the innermost parts of the ship and he was laying down, and was fast asleep.
