Biblia Torres Amat
1Tomando entonces la palabra Baldad de Suhá, dijo:
2¿Hasta cuándo has de hablar de ese modo, y han de ser como un torbellino las palabras de tu boca?
3¿Por ventura tuerce Dios el juicio? ¿O el Omnipotente trastorna la justicia?
4Aunque tus hijos hayan pecado contra él, y los haya abandonado al poder de su iniquidad, y castigado severamente;
5esto no obstante, si tú recurres solícito a Dios, y humilde ruegas al Todopoderoso;
6si procedes con inocencia y rectitud, al punto volverá a ti los ojos para socorrerte, y restituirá la paz y felicidad a la morada de tu inocencia;
7en tanto grado que tus principios habrán sido pequeños en comparación del último estado de grandeza a que te ensalzará.
8Pregunta si no a las generaciones pasadas, y escudriña atentamente las memorias de nuestros padres;
9(porque nosotros nacimos ayer, y somos unos ignorantes, pasándose nuestros días sobre la tierra como una sombra),
10y ellos te instruirán; hablarán contigo, y de dentro de su corazón sacarán sentencias.
11¿Por ventura puede el junco conservarse verde sin humedad? ¿O crecer sin agua un carrizo?
12Estando todavía en flor, y sin que mano ninguna lo toque, se seca primero que todas las hierbas.
13Tal es la suerte de todos los que se olvidan de Dios; y así pasará en humo la esperanza del hipócrita.
14A él mismo no le contentará ya su impiedad; y toda su confianza en las criaturas se desvanecerá como telaraña.
15Querrá apoyarse sobre su casa, y se hundirá; pondrá puntales, mas no se mantendrá.
16Pero el justo es una planta que se muestra fresca y lozana antes de venir el sol, y naciendo arroja su retoño.
17Sus raíces se multiplican, y se abren camino aun por entre los pedregales, y ella vive en medio de peñascos.
18Si alguno la arrancare de su sitio, ella renunciará a él, y dirá: Nada tengo que hacer contigo.
19Pues la naturaleza de esta planta es de tan feliz condición, que brotarán nuevamente otros renuevos de la misma tierra.
20Dios no abandona al hombre de bien, ni alarga su mano a los malvados.
21Algún día tu boca rebosará de risa, y tus labios de júbilo.
22Entonces los que te aborrecen, serán cubiertos de confusión; y no quedará en pie la casa de los impíos.

1Y RESPONDIÓ Bildad Suhita, y dijo:
2¿Hasta cuándo hablarás tales cosas, y las palabras de tu boca serán como un viento fuerte?
3¿Acaso pervertirá Dios el derecho, ó el Todopoderoso pervertirá la justicia?
4Si tus hijos pecaron contra él, él los echó en el lugar de su pecado.
5Si tú de mañana buscares á Dios, y rogares al Todopoderoso;
6Si fueres limpio y derecho, cierto luego se despertará sobre ti, y hará próspera la morada de tu justicia.
7Y tu principio habrá sido pequeño, y tu postrimería acrecerá en gran manera.
8Porque pregunta ahora á la edad pasada, y disponte para inquirir de sus padres de ellos;
9Pues nosotros somos de ayer, y no sabemos, siendo nuestros días sobre la tierra como sombra.
10¿No te enseñarán ellos, te dirán, y de su corazón sacarán palabras?
11¿Crece el junco sin lodo? ¿crece el prado sin agua?
12Aun él en su verdor no será cortado, y antes de toda hierba se secará.
13Tales son los caminos de todos los que olvidan á Dios: y la esperanza del impío perecerá:
14Porque su esperanza será cortada, y su confianza es casa de araña.
15Apoyaráse él sobre su casa, mas no permanecerá en pie; atendráse á ella, mas no se afirmará.
16A manera de un árbol, está verde delante del sol, y sus renuevos salen sobre su huerto;
17Vanse entretejiendo sus raíces junto á una fuente, y enlazándose hasta un lugar pedregoso.
18Si le arrancaren de su lugar, éste negarále entonces, diciendo: Nunca te vi.
19Ciertamente éste será el gozo de su camino; y de la tierra de donde se traspusiere, nacerán otros.
20He aquí, Dios no aborrece al perfecto, ni toma la mano de los malignos.
21Aun henchirá tu boca de risa, y tus labios de júbilo.
22Los que te aborrecen, serán vestidos de confusión; y la habitación de los impíos perecerá.
King James Version
1Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,
2How long wilt thou speak these things? and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind?
3Doth God pervert judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice?
4If thy children have sinned against him, and he have cast them away for their transgression;
5If thou wouldest seek unto God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;
6If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.
7Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.
8For enquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers:
9(For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow:)
10Shall not they teach thee, and tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?
11Can the rush grow up without mire? can the flag grow without water?
12Whilst it is yet in his greenness, and not cut down, it withereth before any other herb.
13So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite’s hope shall perish:
14Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a spider’s web.
15He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure.
16He is green before the sun, and his branch shooteth forth in his garden.
17His roots are wrapped about the heap, and seeth the place of stones.
18If he destroy him from his place, then it shall deny him, saying, I have not seen thee.
19Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the earth shall others grow.
20Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers:
21Till he fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing.
22They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.
World English Bible
1Then Bildad the Shuhite answered,
2“How long will you speak these things? Shall the words of your mouth be a mighty wind?
3Does God pervert justice? Or does the Almighty pervert righteousness?
4If your children have sinned against him, he has delivered them into the hand of their disobedience.
5If you want to seek God diligently, make your supplication to the Almighty.
6If you were pure and upright, surely now he would awaken for you, and make the habitation of your righteousness prosperous.
7Though your beginning was small, yet your latter end would greatly increase.
8“Please inquire of past generations. Find out about the learning of their fathers.
9(For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days on earth are a shadow.)
10Shall they not teach you, tell you, and utter words out of their heart?
11“Can the papyrus grow up without mire? Can the rushes grow without water?
12While it is yet in its greenness, not cut down, it withers before any other reed.
13So are the paths of all who forget God. The hope of the godless man will perish,
14whose confidence will break apart, whose trust is a spider’s web.
15He will lean on his house, but it will not stand. He will cling to it, but it will not endure.
16He is green before the sun. His shoots go out along his garden.
17His roots are wrapped around the rock pile. He sees the place of stones.
18If he is destroyed from his place, then it will deny him, saying, ‘I have not seen you.’
19Behold, this is the joy of his way. Out of the earth, others will spring.
20“Behold, God will not cast away a blameless man, neither will he uphold the evildoers.
21He will still fill your mouth with laughter, your lips with shouting.
22Those who hate you will be clothed with shame. The tent of the wicked will be no more.”
