Ich schaue auf die Erde hin; nur Irr- und Wirrsal. Empor zum Himmel blicke ich: Fort Ist sein Licht.

Miré la tierra, y he aquí que estaba asolada y vacía; y los cielos, y no había en ellos luz.

I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.
