1(Dies ist) das Wort, das an Jeremia über das ganze Volk Juda ergangen ist im vierten Regierungsjahre Jojakims, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs von Juda – es war dies das erste Regierungsjahr Nebukadnezars, des Königs von Babylon –;
2der Prophet Jeremia hat dies Wort an das ganze Volk von Juda und an alle Einwohner Jerusalems gerichtet, indem er sprach:
3»Seit dem dreizehnten Regierungsjahre Josias, des Sohnes Amons, des Königs von Juda, bis auf den heutigen Tag, nun schon dreiundzwanzig Jahre lang, ist das Wort des HERRN an mich ergangen, und ich habe unermüdlich früh und spät zu euch geredet, aber ihr habt nicht darauf gehört.
4Dazu hat der HERR alle seine Knechte, die Propheten, unermüdlich früh und spät zu euch gesandt, aber ihr habt ihnen nicht gehorcht und ihnen kein Gehör geschenkt, um euch warnen zu lassen,
5indem er euch sagen ließ: ›Kehrt doch um, ein jeder von seinem bösen Wandel und von seinem verwerflichen Tun, dann sollt ihr in dem Lande, das der HERR euch und euren Vätern gegeben hat, wohnen bleiben bis in alle Ewigkeit!
6Lauft also nicht anderen Göttern nach, um ihnen zu dienen und sie anzubeten, und reizt mich nicht zum Zorn durch die Machwerke eurer Hände, damit ich kein Unglück über euch verhänge!
7Aber ihr habt nicht auf mich gehört‹ – so lautet der Ausspruch des HERRN –, ›sondern habt mich geflissentlich zum Zorn gereizt durch die Machwerke eurer Hände, euch selbst zum Unheil.‹«
8Darum hat der HERR der Heerscharen so gesprochen: »Zur Strafe dafür, daß ihr auf meine Worte nicht gehört habt,
9will ich nunmehr alle Völkerschaften des Nordens herbeiholen« – so lautet der Ausspruch des HERRN – »und an meinen Knecht Nebukadnezar, den König von Babylon, Botschaft senden und sie gegen dies Land und seine Bewohner und gegen alle diese Völker ringsum hereinbrechen lassen; und ich will den Bann über sie verhängen und sie zum Gegenstand des Entsetzens und des Spottes und zu ewigen Einöden machen;
10und will unter ihnen jeder lauten Freude und Fröhlichkeit, jedem Bräutigamsjubel und jedem Brautgesang, dem Schall der Handmühlen und dem Licht der Lampen ein Ende machen.
11Dieses ganze Land soll zur Einöde, zur Wüste werden, und diese Völkerschaften sollen dem Könige von Babylon dienstbar sein siebzig Jahre lang.
12Wenn aber die siebzig Jahre um sind, dann will ich auch am König von Babylon und an jenem Volk« – so lautet der Ausspruch des HERRN – »das Strafgericht wegen ihrer Verschuldung vollziehen, auch am Lande der Chaldäer, und will es auf ewig zu Wüsteneien machen.
13Ich will dann an jenem Lande alle meine Drohungen, die ich gegen dasselbe ausgesprochen habe, in Erfüllung gehen lassen, alles, was in diesem Buche geschrieben steht, was Jeremia über alle Völker geweissagt hat.
14Denn sie sollen gleichfalls mächtigen Völkern und gewaltigen Königen dienstbar werden, und ich werde ihnen nach Verdienst und nach ihrem ganzen Tun vergelten.«
15Denn so hat der HERR, der Gott Israels, zu mir gesprochen: »Nimm diesen Becher voll Zornweins aus meiner Hand und laß alle Völker, zu denen ich dich senden werde, daraus trinken!
16Sie sollen trinken, daß sie hin und her taumeln und in Tollheit rasen ob dem Schwert, das ich unter sie sende!«
17Da nahm ich den Becher aus der Hand des HERRN und ließ alle Völker daraus trinken, zu denen der HERR mich gesandt hatte:
18Jerusalem und die anderen Städte Judas, ihre Könige und ihre Fürsten, um sie zur Einöde, zum abschreckenden Beispiel, zum Gegenstand des Spottes und zum Fluchwort zu machen, wie es heutzutage der Fall ist;
19sodann den Pharao, den König von Ägypten, samt seinen Dienern und obersten Beamten und seinem ganzen Volk
20und das gesamte Völkergemisch dort; sodann alle Könige des Landes Uz und alle Könige des Philisterlandes, nämlich Askalon, Gaza, Ekron und den Überrest von Asdod;
21Edom, Moab und die Ammoniter;
22alle Könige von Tyrus, alle Könige von Sidon und die Könige der Küstenländer jenseits des Meeres;
23ferner Dedan, Thema, Bus und alle, die sich das Haar an den Schläfen stutzen;
24sodann alle Könige von Arabien und alle Könige der Mischvölker, die in der Wüste wohnen;
25ferner alle Könige von Simri und alle Könige von Elam und alle Könige von Medien;
26sodann alle Könige des Nordens, die nahen wie die fernen, einen nach dem andern, überhaupt alle Königreiche der Welt, soviele ihrer auf dem ganzen Erdboden sind; der König von Sesach aber muß nach ihnen trinken.
27»Du sollst dabei zu ihnen sagen: ›So hat der HERR der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels, gesprochen: Trinkt, bis ihr trunken seid und euch erbrecht! Stürzt hin, ohne wieder aufzustehen – ob dem Schwert, das ich unter euch sende!‹
28Sollten sie sich aber weigern, den Becher aus deiner Hand zu nehmen, um aus ihm zu trinken, so sollst du zu ihnen sagen: ›So hat der HERR der Heerscharen gesprochen: Trinken müßt ihr dennoch!
29Denn wisset wohl: Bei der Stadt, die nach meinem Namen genannt ist, habe ich mit dem Strafgericht den Anfang gemacht, und da solltet ihr frei ausgehen? Nein, ihr sollt nicht ungestraft bleiben; denn das Schwert biete ich gegen alle Bewohner der Erde auf!‹« – so lautet der Ausspruch des HERRN der Heerscharen.
30»Du aber sollst bei der Verkündigung aller dieser Drohworte zu ihnen sagen: ›Der HERR brüllt aus der Höhe und läßt seine Stimme erschallen aus seiner heiligen Wohnstätte! Laut brüllt er über seine Aue hin, läßt ein Jauchzen erschallen wie die Keltertreter gegen alle Bewohner der Erde.
31Bis ans Ende der Erde dringt der Schall; denn der HERR geht mit den Völkern ins Gericht; er bringt seine Sache mit der ganzen Menschheit zum Austrag: die Gottlosen gibt er dem Schwerte preis!‹« – so lautet der Ausspruch des HERRN.
32So hat der HERR der Heerscharen gesprochen: »Fürwahr, Unheil schreitet von Volk zu Volk, und ein gewaltiger Sturm zieht heran von den Enden der Erde!«
33An jenem Tage werden die vom HERRN Erschlagenen von einem Ende der Erde bis zum andern daliegen, unbetrauert und ohne aufgehoben und begraben zu werden: zu Dünger müssen sie auf offenem Felde werden.
34»Heult, ihr Völkerhirten, und schreit! Und wälzt euch (in der Asche), ihr Führer der Herde! Denn eure Zeit ist erfüllt, daß man euch schlachte, und ich zerschmettere euch, daß ihr zu Boden fallen sollt wie kostbares Geschirr!«
35Da gibt es kein Entfliehen mehr für die Hirten und kein Entrinnen für die Führer der Herde.
36Horch! Angstgeschrei der Hirten und Geheul der Führer der Herde! Denn der HERR verwüstet ihre Weide,
37und verheert werden die friedlichen Auen vor dem lodernden Zorn des HERRN!
38Wie ein Löwe hat er sein Dickicht verlassen: ach, ihr Land ist zur Wüste geworden vor dem verheerenden Schwert und vor seinem lodernden Zorn!

1PALABRA que fué á Jeremías acerca de todo el pueblo de Judá en el año cuarto de Joacim hijo de Josías, rey de Judá, el cual es el año primero de Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia;
2La cual habló Jeremías profeta á todo el pueblo de Judá, y á todos los moradores de Jerusalem, diciendo:
3Desde el año trece de Josías hijo de Amón, rey de Judá, hasta este día, que son veintitrés años, fué á mí palabra de Jehová, y os he hablado, madrugando y dando aviso; mas no oisteis.
4Y envió Jehová á vosotros todos sus siervos los profetas, madrugando y enviándolos; mas no oisteis, ni inclinasteis vuestro oído para escuchar,
5Cuando decían: Volveos ahora de vuestro mal camino y de la maldad de vuestras obras, y morad en la tierra que os dió Jehová, á vosotros y á vuestros padres para siempre;
6Y no vayáis en pos de dioses ajenos, sirviéndoles y encorvándoos á ellos, ni me provoquéis á ira con la obra de vuestras manos; y no os haré mal.
7Empero no me habéis oído, dice Jehová, para provocarme á ira con la obra de vuestras manos para mal vuestro.
8Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: Por cuanto no habéis oído mis palabras,
9He aquí enviaré yo, y tomaré todos los linajes del aquilón, dice Jehová, y á Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, mi siervo, y traerélos contra esta tierra, y contra sus moradores, y contra todas estas naciones en derredor; y los destruiré, y pondrélos por escarnio, y por silbo, y en soledades perpetuas.
10Y haré que perezca de entre ellos voz de gozo y voz de alegría, voz de desposado y voz de desposada, ruido de muelas, y luz de lámpara.
11Y toda esta tierra será puesta en soledad, en espanto; y servirán estas gentes al rey de Babilonia setenta años.
12Y será que, cuando fueren cumplidos los setenta años, visitaré sobre el rey de Babilonia y sobre aquella gente su maldad, ha dicho Jehová, y sobre la tierra de los Caldeos; y pondréla en desiertos para siempre.
13Y traeré sobre aquella tierra todas mis palabras que he hablado contra ella, con todo lo que está escrito en este libro, profetizado por Jeremías contra todas gentes.
14Porque se servirán también de ellos muchas gentes, y reyes grandes; y yo les pagaré conforme á sus hechos, y conforme á la obra de sus manos.
15Porque así me dijo Jehová Dios de Israel: Toma de mi mano el vaso del vino de este furor, y da á beber de él á todas las gentes á las cuales yo te envío.
16Y beberán, y temblarán, y enloquecerán delante del cuchillo que yo envío entre ellos.
17Y tomé el vaso de la mano de Jehová, y dí de beber á todas las gentes á las cuales me envió Jehová:
18A Jerusalem, á las ciudades de Judá, y á sus reyes, y á sus príncipes, para ponerlos en soledad, en escarnio, y en silbo, y en maldición, como este día;
19A Faraón rey de Egipto, y á sus siervos, á sus príncipes, y á todo su pueblo;
20Y á toda la mezcla de gente, y á todos los reyes de tierra de Hus, y á todos los reyes de tierra de Palestina, y á Ascalón, y Gaza, y Ecrón, y al residuo de Asdod;
21A Edom, y Moab, y á los hijos de Ammón;
22Y á todos los reyes de Tiro, y á todos los reyes de Sidón, y á los reyes de las islas que están de ese lado de la mar;
23Y á Dedán, y Tema, y Buz, y á todos los que están al cabo del mundo;
24Y á todos los reyes de Arabia, y á todos los reyes de pueblos mezclados que habitan en el desierto;
25Y á todos los reyes de Zimri, y á todos los reyes de Elam, y á todos los reyes de Media;
26Y á todos los reyes del aquilón, los de cerca y los de lejos, los unos con los otros; y á todos los reinos de la tierra que están sobre la haz de la tierra: y el rey de Sesach beberá después de ellos.
27Les dirás, pues: Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: Bebed, y embriagaos, y vomitad, y caed, y no os levantéis delante del cuchillo que yo envío entre vosotros.
28Y será que, si no quieren tomar el vaso de tu mano para beber, les dirás tú: Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: Habéis de beber.
29Porque he aquí, que á la ciudad sobre la cual es invocado mi nombre yo comienzo á hacer mal; ¿y vosotros seréis absueltos? No seréis absueltos: porque espada traigo sobre todos los moradores de la tierra, dice Jehová de los ejércitos.
30Tú pues, profetizarás á ellos todas estas palabras, y les dirás: Jehová bramará desde lo alto, y desde la morada de su santidad dará su voz: enfurecido bramará sobre su morada; canción de lagareros cantará contra todos los moradores de la tierra.
31Llegó el estruendo hasta el cabo de la tierra; porque juicio de Jehová con las gentes: él es el Juez de toda carne; entregará los impíos á cuchillo, dice Jehová.
32Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: He aquí que el mal sale de gente en gente, y grande tempestad se levantará de los fines de la tierra.
33Y serán muertos de Jehová en aquel día desde el un cabo de la tierra hasta el otro cabo; no se endecharán, ni se recogerán, ni serán enterrados; como estiércol serán sobre la haz de la tierra.
34Aullad, pastores, y clamad; y revolcaos en el polvo, mayorales del rebaño; porque cumplidos son vuestros días para ser vosotros degollados y esparcidos, y caeréis como vaso de codicia.
35Y acabaráse la huída de los pastores, y el escape de los mayorales del rebaño.
36¡Voz de la grita de los pastores, y aullido de los mayorales del rebaño! porque Jehová asoló sus majadas.
37Y las majadas quietas serán taladas por el furor de la ira de Jehová.
38Dejó cual leoncillo su guarida; pues asolada fué la tierra de ellos por la ira del opresor, y por el furor de su saña.

1The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that was the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon;
2The which Jeremiah the prophet spake unto all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying,
3From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even unto this day, that is the three and twentieth year, the word of the LORD hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened.
4And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.
5They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever:
6And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt.
7Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the LORD; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.
8Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Because ye have not heard my words,
9Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.
10Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle.
11And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
12And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.
13And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations.
14For many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of them also: and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their own hands.
15For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.
16And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.
17Then took I the cup at the LORD’s hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me:
18To wit, Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse; as it is this day;
19Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people;
20And all the mingled people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod,
21Edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon,
22And all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isles which are beyond the sea,
23Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that are in the utmost corners,
24And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the desert,

26And all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.
27Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.
28And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink.
29For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts.
30Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.
31A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.
32Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.
33And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.
34Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel.
35And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape.
36A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and an howling of the principal of the flock, shall be heard: for the LORD hath spoiled their pasture.
37And the peaceable habitations are cut down because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
38He hath forsaken his covert, as the lion: for their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger.

1The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah (this was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon),
2which Jeremiah the prophet spoke to all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem:
3From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, even to this day, these twenty-three years, the LORD’s word has come to me, and I have spoken to you, rising up early and speaking; but you have not listened.
4The LORD has sent to you all his servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them (but you have not listened or inclined your ear to hear),
5saying, “Return now everyone from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD has given to you and to your fathers, from of old and even forever more.
6Don’t go after other gods to serve them or worship them, and don’t provoke me to anger with the work of your hands; then I will do you no harm.”
7“Yet you have not listened to me,” says the LORD, “that you may provoke me to anger with the work of your hands to your own hurt.”
8Therefore the LORD of Armies says: “Because you have not heard my words,
9behold, I will send and take all the families of the north,” says the LORD, “and I will send to Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against its inhabitants, and against all these nations around. I will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and a hissing, and perpetual desolations.
10Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the lamp.
11This whole land will be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy years.

16They will drink, and reel back and forth, and be insane, because of the sword that I will send among them.”
17Then I took the cup at the LORD’s hand, and made all the nations to drink, to whom the LORD had sent me:
18Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, with its kings and its princes, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, a hissing, and a curse, as it is today;
19Pharaoh king of Egypt, with his servants, his princes, and all his people;
20and all the mixed people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, all the kings of the Philistines, Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod;

27“You shall tell them, ‘The LORD of Armies, the God of Israel says: “Drink, and be drunk, vomit, fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.”’
28It shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at your hand to drink, then you shall tell them, ‘The LORD of Armies says: “You shall surely drink.
29For, behold, I begin to work evil at the city which is called by my name; and should you be utterly unpunished? You will not be unpunished; for I will call for a sword on all the inhabitants of the earth, says the LORD of Armies.”’
30“Therefore prophesy against them all these words, and tell them, “‘The LORD will roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation. He will mightily roar against his fold. He will give a shout, as those who tread grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.
31A noise will come even to the end of the earth; for the LORD has a controversy with the nations. He will enter into judgment with all flesh. As for the wicked, he will give them to the sword,”’ says the LORD.”
32The LORD of Armies says, “Behold, evil will go out from nation to nation, and a great storm will be raised up from the uttermost parts of the earth.”
33The slain of the LORD will be at that day from one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth. They won’t be lamented. They won’t be gathered or buried. They will be dung on the surface of the ground.
34Wail, you shepherds, and cry. Wallow in dust, you leader of the flock; for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions have fully come, and you will fall like fine pottery.
35The shepherds will have no way to flee. The leader of the flock will have no escape.
36A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and the wailing of the leader of the flock, for the LORD destroys their pasture.
37The peaceful folds are brought to silence because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
38He has left his covert, as the lion; for their land has become an astonishment because of the fierceness of the oppression, and because of his fierce anger.
