1Da ließ der Herr mich schauen: Zwei Feigenkörbe standen da, bezeichnet, vor des Herren Tempel, nachdem Nebukadrezar, der Babelkönig, den Jechonias, Sohn des Jojakim, den Judakönig, und Judas Fürsten samt den Schmieden und den Schreinern fort von Jerusalem geführt und sie nach Babel hingebracht.
2Der eine Korb enthielt sehr gute Feigen, den frühen Feigen gleich; der andre Korb sehr schlechte Feigen, ganz ungenießbar, weil verdorben.
3Da sprach der Herr zu mir: "Was siehst du, Jeremias?" Ich sagte: "Feigen! Die guten Feigen sind sehr gut, die schlechten äußerst schlecht, ganz ungenießbar, weil verdorben."
4Darauf erging das Wort des Herrn an mich:
5"So spricht der Herr, Gott Israels: Wie diese guten Feigen hier, so will ich die Verschleppten Judas gutheißen, die ich von diesem Orte ins Chaldäerland geschickt.
6Auf diese richte ich mein Auge freundlich und bringe sie zurück in dieses Land. Denn bauen will ich, nicht vernichten, einpflanzen und nicht ausreißen.
7Ich schenke ihnen Einsicht, daß sie merken, daß ich der Herr bin. Sie dienen mir alsdann zum Volk und ich zum Schutzgott ihnen, wenn sie aus ganzem Herzen sich zu mir bekehren.
8Doch gleich den schlechten Feigen, die verdorben, ungenießbar sind", so spricht der Herr, "will ich den König Judas, Sedekias, seine Fürsten, sowie den Rest Jerusalems behandeln, die noch in diesem Lande übrig sind, samt denen im Ägypterland.
9Ich mache sie zu bösem Schreckensbild für alle Reiche auf der Erde. Dem Schimpf und Spott, dem Hohn und der Verwünschung geb ich preis sie überall, wohin ich sie verstoße.
10Ich sende unter sie das Schwert, den Hunger und die Seuche, bis sie vertilgt vom Boden, den ich ihnen wie ihren Vätern einst verliehen habe."

1MOSTRÓME Jehová, y he aquí dos cestas de higos puestas delante del templo de Jehová, después de haber trasportado Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia á Jechônías hijo de Joacim, rey de Judá, y á los príncipes de Judá, y á los oficiales y herreros de Jerusalem, y haberlos llevado á Babilonia.
2La una cesta tenía higos muy buenos, como brevas; y la otra cesta tenía higos muy malos, que no se podían comer de malos.
3Y díjome Jehová: ¿Qué ves tú, Jeremías? Y dije: Higos, higos buenos, muy buenos; y malos, muy malos, que de malos no se pueden comer.
4Y fué á mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:
5Así ha dicho Jehová Dios de Israel: Como á estos buenos higos, así conoceré la trasportación de Judá al cual eché de este lugar á tierra de Caldeos, para bien.
6Porque pondré mis ojos sobre ellos para bien, y volverélos á esta tierra; y los edificaré, y no los destruiré: plantarélos, y no los arrancaré.
7Y les daré corazón para que me conozcan, que yo soy Jehová: y me serán por pueblo, y yo les seré á ellos por Dios; porque se volverán á mí de todo su corazón.
8Y como los malos higos, que de malos no se pueden comer, así, ha dicho Jehová, daré á Sedechîas rey de Judá, y á sus príncipes, y al resto de Jerusalem que quedaron en esta tierra, y que moran en la tierra de Egipto.
9Y darélos por escarnio, por mal á todos los reinos de la tierra: por infamia, y por ejemplo, y por refrán, y por maldición á todos los lugares adonde yo los arrojaré.
10Y enviaré sobre ellos espada, hambre, y pestilencia, hasta que sean acabados de sobre la tierra que les dí á ellos y á sus padres.

1The LORD shewed me, and, behold, two baskets of figs were set before the temple of the LORD, after that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, and the princes of Judah, with the carpenters and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon.
2One basket had very good figs, even like the figs that are first ripe: and the other basket had very naughty figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad.
3Then said the LORD unto me, What seest thou, Jeremiah? And I said, Figs; the good figs, very good; and the evil, very evil, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil.
4Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
5Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for their good.
6For I will set mine eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up.
7And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the LORD: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.
8And as the evil figs, which cannot be eaten, they are so evil; surely thus saith the LORD, So will I give Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the residue of Jerusalem, that remain in this land, and them that dwell in the land of Egypt:
9And I will deliver them to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth for their hurt, to be a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places whither I shall drive them.
10And I will send the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, among them, till they be consumed from off the land that I gave unto them and to their fathers.

1The LORD showed me, and behold, two baskets of figs were set before the LORD’s temple, after Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and the princes of Judah, with the craftsmen and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon.
2One basket had very good figs, like the figs that are first-ripe; and the other basket had very bad figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad.
3Then the LORD asked me, “What do you see, Jeremiah?” I said, “Figs. The good figs are very good, and the bad are very bad, so bad that they can’t be eaten.”
4The LORD’s word came to me, saying,
5“The LORD, the God of Israel says: ‘Like these good figs, so I will regard the captives of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans, as good.
6For I will set my eyes on them for good, and I will bring them again to this land. I will build them, and not pull them down. I will plant them, and not pluck them up.
7I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the LORD. They will be my people, and I will be their God; for they will return to me with their whole heart.
8“‘As the bad figs, which can’t be eaten, they are so bad,’ surely the LORD says, ‘So I will give up Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the remnant of Jerusalem who remain in this land, and those who dwell in the land of Egypt.
9I will even give them up to be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth for evil, to be a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places where I will drive them.
