Jeremías 21

1Das Wort, das von seiten Jahwes an Jeremia erging, als der König Zedekia Pashur, den Sohn Malkijas, und den Priester Zephanja, den Sohn Maasejas, mit dem Verlangen an ihn sandte:
2Befrage doch Jahwe für uns, denn Nebukadrezar, der König von Babel, belagert uns: ob wohl Jahwe allen seinen wunderbaren Thaten gemäß an uns handeln wird, daß er wieder von uns abzieht?
3Jeremia aber sprach zu ihnen: Also sollt ihr zu Zedekia sagen:
4So spricht Jahwe, der Gott Israels: Fürwahr, ich will die Kriegswaffen in eurer Hand, mit denen ihr den König von Babel und die Chaldäer, die euch bedrängen, außerhalb der Stadtmauer bekämpft, umwenden und ins Innere dieser Stadt zusammenziehen,
5und ich selbst will mit euch kämpfen, mit ausgereckter Hand und starkem Arm und im Zorn und im Grimm und in gewaltiger Wut,
6und will die Bewohner dieser Stadt, die Menschen wie das Vieh, niederschlagen: durch eine gewaltige Pest sollen sie umkommen!
7Darnach aber - ist der Spruch Jahwes -, will ich Zedekia, den König von Juda, mit seinen Dienern und den Leuten, die in dieser Stadt von der Pest, dem Schwert und dem Hunger übrig gelassen sind, in die Gewalt Nebukadrezars, des Königs von Babel, und in die Gewalt ihrer Feinde und in die Gewalt derer, die ihnen nach dem Leben trachten, überliefern, daß er sie mit dem Schwerte niedermetzle, ohne Mitleid mit ihnen und ohne Schonung und ohne Erbarmen.
8Zu diesem Volk aber sollst du sagen: So spricht Jahwe: Fürwahr, ich stelle euch zur Wahl: den Weg, der zum Leben, und den, der zum Tode führt!
9Wer in dieser Stadt bleibt, wird durchs Schwert und durch den Hunger und durch die Pest umkommen; wer aber hinausgeht und sich den Chaldäern, die euch bedrängen, ergiebt, wird leben bleiben und sein Leben zur Beute haben.
10Denn ich habe mein Antlitz wider diese Stadt gerichtet zum Unheil und nicht zum Heil - ist der Spruch Jahwes; in die Gewalt des Königs von Babel soll sie überliefert werden, daß er sie niederbrenne.
11Denen vom Hause des Königs von Juda: Hört das Wort Jahwes,
12ihr vom Hause Davids! So spricht Jahwe: Haltet alle Morgen gerechtes Gericht und rettet den Beraubten aus der Gewalt des Bedrückers, daß nicht wie Feuer meine Zornglut hervorbreche und unauslöschlich brenne - ob der Bösartigkeit eurer Thaten!
13Fürwahr, an dich will ich, du Bewohnerin des Thals, des Felsens der Ebene - ist der Spruch Jahwes -, an euch, die ihr sprecht: Wer sollte über uns herabkommen und wer sollte in unsere Wohnungen eindringen?
14Und ich will euch den Früchten eurer Thaten gemäß heim suchen - ist der Spruch Jahwes - und Feuer an ihren Wald legen, daß es alles, was rings um sie her ist, verzehre.

1PALABRA que fué á Jeremías de Jehová, cuando el rey Sedechîas envió á él á Pashur hijo de Malchîas, y á Sephanías sacerdote, hijo de Maasías, que le dijesen:
2Pregunta ahora por nosotros á Jehová; porque Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia hace guerra contra nosotros: quizá Jehová hará con nosotros según todas sus maravillas, y aquél se irá de sobre nosotros.
3Y Jeremías les dijo: Diréis así á Sedechîas:
4Así ha dicho Jehová Dios de Israel: He aquí yo vuelvo las armas de guerra que están en vuestras manos, y con que vosotros peleáis con el rey de Babilonia; y los Caldeos que os tienen cercados fuera de la muralla, yo los juntaré en medio de esta ciudad.
5Y pelearé contra vosotros con mano alzada y con brazo fuerte, y con furor, y enojo, é ira grande:
6Y heriré los moradores de esta ciudad; y los hombres y las bestias morirán de pestilencia grande.
7Y después, así dice Jehová, entregaré á Sedechîas rey de Judá, y á sus criados, y al pueblo, y á los que quedaren en la ciudad de la pestilencia, y del cuchillo, y del hambre, en mano de Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, y en mano de sus enemigos, y en mano de los que buscan sus almas; y él los herirá á filo de espada; no los perdonará, ni los recibirá á merced, ni tendrá de ellos misericordia.
8Y á este pueblo dirás: Así ha dicho Jehová: He aquí pongo delante de vosotros camino de vida y camino de muerte.
9El que se quedare en esta ciudad, morirá á cuchillo, ó de hambre, ó pestilencia: mas el que saliere, y se pasare á los Caldeos que os tienen cercados, vivirá, y su vida le será por despojo.
10Porque mi rostro he puesto contra esta ciudad para mal, y no para bien, dice Jehová: en mano del rey de Babilonia será entregada, y quemarála á fuego.
11Y á la casa del rey de Judá dirás: Oid palabra de Jehová.
12Casa de David, así dijo Jehová: Juzgad de mañana juicio, y librad al oprimido de mano del opresor; porque mi ira no salga como fuego, y se encienda, y no haya quien apague, por la maldad de vuestras obras.
13He aquí yo contra ti, moradora del valle de la piedra de la llanura, dice Jehová: los que decís: ¿Quién subirá contra nosotros? ¿y quién entrará en nuestras moradas?
14Yo os visitaré conforme al fruto de vuestras obras, dice Jehová, y haré encender fuego en su breña, y consumirá todo lo que está alrededor de ella.

1The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, when king Zedekiah sent unto him Pashur the son of Melchiah, and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest, saying,
2Enquire, I pray thee, of the LORD for us; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon maketh war against us; if so be that the LORD will deal with us according to all his wondrous works, that he may go up from us.
3Then said Jeremiah unto them, Thus shall ye say to Zedekiah:
4Thus saith the LORD God of Israel; Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, wherewith ye fight against the king of Babylon, and against the Chaldeans, which besiege you without the walls, and I will assemble them into the midst of this city.
5And I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm, even in anger, and in fury, and in great wrath.
6And I will smite the inhabitants of this city, both man and beast: they shall die of a great pestilence.
7And afterward, saith the LORD, I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, and his servants, and the people, and such as are left in this city from the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those that seek their life: and he shall smite them with the edge of the sword; he shall not spare them, neither have pity, nor have mercy.
8And unto this people thou shalt say, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death.
9He that abideth in this city shall die by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he that goeth out, and falleth to the Chaldeans that besiege you, he shall live, and his life shall be unto him for a prey.
10For I have set my face against this city for evil, and not for good, saith the LORD: it shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.
11And touching the house of the king of Judah, say, Hear ye the word of the LORD;
12O house of David, thus saith the LORD; Execute judgment in the morning, and deliver him that is spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my fury go out like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.
13Behold, I am against thee, O inhabitant of the valley, and rock of the plain, saith the LORD; which say, Who shall come down against us? or who shall enter into our habitations?
14But I will punish you according to the fruit of your doings, saith the LORD: and I will kindle a fire in the forest thereof, and it shall devour all things round about it.

1The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, when King Zedekiah sent to him Pashhur the son of Malchijah, and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah, the priest, saying,
2“Please inquire of the LORD for us; for Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon makes war against us. Perhaps the LORD will deal with us according to all his wondrous works, that he may withdraw from us.”
3Then Jeremiah said to them, “Tell Zedekiah:
4‘The LORD, the God of Israel says, “Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, with which you fight against the king of Babylon, and against the Chaldeans who besiege you outside the walls; and I will gather them into the middle of this city.
5I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm, even in anger, in wrath, and in great indignation.
6I will strike the inhabitants of this city, both man and animal. They will die of a great pestilence.
7Afterward,” says the LORD, “I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, his servants, and the people, even those who are left in this city from the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those who seek their life. He will strike them with the edge of the sword. He will not spare them, have pity, or have mercy.”’
8“You shall say to this people, ‘The LORD says: “Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death.
9He who remains in this city will die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, but he who goes out and passes over to the Chaldeans who besiege you, he will live, and he will escape with his life.
10For I have set my face on this city for evil, and not for good,” says the LORD. “It will be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will burn it with fire.”’
11“Concerning the house of the king of Judah, hear the LORD’s word:
12House of David, the LORD says, ‘Execute justice in the morning, and deliver him who is robbed out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my wrath go out like fire, and burn so that no one can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.
13Behold, I am against you, O inhabitant of the valley, and of the rock of the plain,’ says the LORD. ‘You that say, “Who would come down against us?” or, “Who would enter into our homes?”
14I will punish you according to the fruit of your doings,’ says the LORD; ‘and I will kindle a fire in her forest, and it will devour all that is around her.’”
