18Então, o povo disse: "Vinde e façamos planos contra Jeremias, uma vez que a lei dos sacerdotes, ou o conselho dos sábios, ou as palavras dos profetas, nunca se acabarão. Vinde e o ataquemos com nossas palavras e não prestemos atenção em nada do que ele proclamar".

18Y dijeron: Venid, y tracemos maquinaciones contra Jeremías; porque la ley no faltará del sacerdote, ni consejo del sabio, ni palabra del profeta. Venid é hirámoslo de lengua, y no miremos á todas sus palabras.

18Then said they, Come, and let us devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us smite him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.
