Jeremías 17

1Le péché de Juda est inscrit avec un burin de fer, avec une pointe de diamant; il est gravé sur la table de leur coeur, aux angles de vos autels,
2de telle sorte que leurs fils gardent le souvenir de leurs autels, de leurs statues d'Achéra près des arbres verdoyants, sur les hautes collines.
3O ma montagne qui te dresses dans la plaine, tes richesses, tous tes trésors, je les livrerai au pillage, ainsi que tes hauts-lieux, à cause des péchés commis sur tout ton territoire.
4Tu seras dépouilléet par ta fautede l'héritage que je t'avais donné, et je te forcerai de servir tes ennemis dans un pays que tu ne connais point; car vous avez allumé un feu dans mes narines, qui brûlera à jamais.
5Ainsi parle I'Eternel: Maudit soit l'homme qui met sa confiance en un mortel, prend pour appui un être de chair, et dont le coeur s'éloigne de Dieu!
6Pareil à la bruyère dans les landes, il ne verra point venir de jour propice; il aura pour demeure les régions calcinées du désert, une terre couverte de sel et inhabitable.
7Béni soit l'homme qui Se confie en l'Eternel, et dont l'Eternel est l'espoir!
8II sera tel qu'un arbre planté au bord de l'eau et qui étend ses racines près d'une rivière: vienne la saison chaude, il ne s'en aperçoit pas, et son feuillage reste vert: une année de sécheresse, il ne s'en inquiète point, il ne cessera pas de porter des fruits.
9Le coeur est plus que toute chose plein de détours, et iI est malade: qui pourrait le connaître?
10Moi, l'Eternel, moi je scrute les coeurs, je sonde les reins, je sais payer chacun selon ses voies, selon le fruit de ses oeuvres.
11La perdrix s'entoure d'une famille qu'elle n'a point mise au monde; tel est celui qui acquiert l'opulence d'une manière inique au beau milieu de ses jours, il devra l'abandonner et sa fin sera misérable.
12C'est un trône glorieux, sublime de toute éternité, que le lieu de notre sanctuaire!
13O espérance d'Israël, Eternel, tous ceux qui te délaissent seront confondus! Oui, ceux qui se tiennent éloignés de moi seront inscrits sur la poussière, car ils ont abandonné la source d'eaux vives: l'Eternel.
14Guéris-moi, Seigneur, et je serai guéri; sauve-moi et je serai sauvé, car tu es l'objet de mes louanges.
15Voici, ils me disent: "Où est la parole de l'Eternel? Qu'elle s'accomplisse donc!"
16Pourtant, moi, je n'ai point refusé d'être un fidèle pasteur à ta suite, ni appelé de mes voeux le jour du malheur, tu le sais bien! Les paroles sorties de mes lèvres sont à découvert devant toi.
17Ne deviens pas pour moi une cause d'effroi: tu es mon abri au jour de l'adversité!
18Que mes persécuteurs soient confondus, et que je ne sois pas confondu, moi! Qu'ils soient atterrés, mais que je ne sois pas atterré, moi! Laisse arriver sur eux le jour de la calamité et inflige-leur une double catastrophe!
19Ainsi me parla l'Eternel: "Va et tiens-toi à la porte des Enfants du Peuple, par où entrent les rois de Juda et par où ils sortent, et à toutes les portes de Jérusalem;
20et tu leur diras: Ecoutez la parole de l'Eternel, rois de Juda et vous tous, gens de Juda et habitants de Jérusalem, qui franchissez ces portes!
21Ainsi parle l'Eternel: Evitez avec soin, pour votre salut, de porter des fardeaux le jour du Sabbat et de les introduire par les portes de Jérusalem.
22Ne transportez pas non plus de fardeau hors de vos maisons le jour du Sabbat et ne faites aucun ouvrage; mais sanctifiez le jour du Sabbat, comme je l'ai ordonné à vos ancêtres.
23Eux, toutefois, n'ont ni obéi ni prêté attention, raidissant la nuque pour ne pas écouter ni accepter de remontrance.
24Et maintenant, si vous voulez bien m'obéir, dit l'Eternel, ne pas introduire de fardeau par les portes de cette ville le jour du Sabbat, mais sanctifier le jour du Sabbat en vous abstenant d'y faire aucun travail;
25alors, par les portes de cette ville, des rois et des princes qui occupent le trône de David entreront, montés sur des chars et des chevaux; ils entreront, eux et leurs princes, les hommes de Juda et les habitants de Jérusalem, et cette cité sera habitée à jamais.
26De plus, on viendra des villes de Juda, des environs de Jérusalem, du pays de Benjamin, des basses terres, de la montagne et du midi, en apportant des holocaustes et d'autres sacrifices, des oblations et de l'encens, en apportant des offrandes de reconnaissance dans la maison de l'Eternel.
27Mais si vous ne m'obéissez pas en sanctifiant le jour du Sabbat et en vous abstenant de transporter des fardeaux et de franchir les portes de Jérusalem le jour du Sabbat, je mettrai le feu à ses portes; il dévorera les palais de Jérusalem et ne s'éteindra pas.

1EL pecado de Judá escrito está con cincel de hierro, y con punta de diamante: esculpido está en la tabla de su corazón, y en los lados de vuestros altares;
2Cuando sus hijos se acuerdan de sus altares y de sus bosques, junto á los árboles verdes y en los collados altos.
3¡Oh mi montaña! tu hacienda en el campo y todos tus tesoros daré á saco, por el pecado de tus altos en todos tus términos.
4Y habrá en ti cesación de tu heredad, la cual yo te dí, y te haré servir á tus enemigos en tierra que no conociste; porque fuego habéis encendido en mi furor, para siempre arderá.
5Así ha dicho Jehová: Maldito el varón que confía en el hombre, y pone carne por su brazo, y su corazón se aparta de Jehová.
6Pues será como la retama en el desierto, y no verá cuando viniere el bien; sino que morará en las securas en el desierto, en tierra despoblada y deshabitada.
7Bendito el varón que se fía en Jehová, y cuya confianza es Jehová.
8Porque él será como el árbol plantado junto á las aguas, que junto á la corriente echará sus raices, y no verá cuando viniere el calor, sino que su hoja estará verde; y en el año de sequía no se fatigará, ni dejará de hacer fruto.
9Engañoso es el corazón más que todas las cosas, y perverso; ¿quién lo conocerá?
10Yo Jehová, que escudriño el corazón, que pruebo los riñones, para dar á cada uno según su camino, según el fruto de sus obras.
11Como la perdiz que cubre lo que no puso, es el que allega riquezas, y no con justicia; en medio de sus días las dejará, y en su postrimería será insipiente.
12Trono de gloria, excelso desde el principio, es el lugar de nuestro santuario.
13¡Oh Jehová, esperanza de Israel! todos los que te dejan, serán avergonzados; y los que de mí se apartan, serán escritos en el polvo; porque dejaron la vena de aguas vivas, á Jehová.
14Sáname, oh Jehová, y seré sano; sálvame, y seré salvo: porque tú eres mi alabanza.
15He aquí que ellos me dicen: ¿Dónde está la palabra de Jehová? venga ahora.
16Mas yo no me entrometí á ser pastor en pos de ti, ni deseé día de calamidad, tú lo sabes. Lo que de mi boca ha salido, fué en tu presencia.
17No me seas tú por espanto: esperanza mía eres tú en el día malo.
18Avergüéncense los que me persiguen, y no me avergüence yo; asómbrense ellos, y yo no me asombre: trae sobre ellos día malo, y quebrántalos con doble quebrantamiento.
19Así me ha dicho Jehová: Ve, y ponte á la puerta de los hijos del pueblo, por la cual entran y salen los reyes de Judá, y á todas las puertas de Jerusalem,
20Y diles: Oid la palabra de Jehová, reyes de Judá, y todo Judá, y todos los moradores de Jerusalem que entráis por estas puertas.
21Así ha dicho Jehová: Guardaos por vuestras vidas, y no traigáis carga en el día del sábado, para meter por las puertas de Jerusalem;
22Ni saquéis carga de vuestras casas en el día del sábado, ni hagáis obra alguna: mas santificad el día del sábado, como mandé á vuestros padres;
23Mas ellos no oyeron, ni inclinaron su oído, antes endurecieron su cerviz, por no oir, ni recibir corrección.
24Será empero, si vosotros me obedeciereis, dice Jehová, no metiendo carga por las puertas de esta ciudad en el día del sábado, sino que santificareis el día del sábado, no haciendo en él ninguna obra;
25Que entrarán por las puertas de esta ciudad, en carros y en caballos, los reyes y los príncipes que se sientan sobre el trono de David, ellos y sus príncipes, los varones de Judá, y los moradores de Jerusalem: y esta ciudad será habitada para siempre.
26Y vendrán de las ciudades de Judá, y de los alrededores de Jerusalem, y de tierra de Benjamín, y de los campos, y del monte, y del austro, trayendo holocausto y sacrificio, y ofrenda é incienso, y trayendo sacrificio de alabanza á la casa de Jehová.
27Mas si no me oyereis para santificar el día del sábado, y para no traer carga ni meterla por las puertas de Jerusalem en día de sábado, yo haré encender fuego en sus puertas, y consumirá los palacios de Jerusalem, y no se apagará.

1The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the table of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars;
2Whilst their children remember their altars and their groves by the green trees upon the high hills.
3O my mountain in the field, I will give thy substance and all thy treasures to the spoil, and thy high places for sin, throughout all thy borders.
4And thou, even thyself, shalt discontinue from thine heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest not: for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever.
5Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
6For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
7Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
8For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
9The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
10I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
11As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.
12A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary.
13O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.
14Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.
15Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of the LORD? let it come now.
16As for me, I have not hastened from being a pastor to follow thee: neither have I desired the woeful day; thou knowest: that which came out of my lips was right before thee.
17Be not a terror unto me: thou art my hope in the day of evil.
18Let them be confounded that persecute me, but let not me be confounded: let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed: bring upon them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.
19Thus said the LORD unto me; Go and stand in the gate of the children of the people, whereby the kings of Judah come in, and by the which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem;
20And say unto them, Hear ye the word of the LORD, ye kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates:
21Thus saith the LORD; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem;
22Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work, but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers.
23But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction.
24And it shall come to pass, if ye diligently hearken unto me, saith the LORD, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but hallow the sabbath day, to do no work therein;
25Then shall there enter into the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and this city shall remain for ever.
26And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and meat offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise, unto the house of the LORD.
27But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.

1“The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond. It is engraved on the tablet of their heart, and on the horns of your altars.
2Even their children remember their altars and their Asherah poles by the green trees on the high hills.
3My mountain in the field, I will give your substance and all your treasures for a plunder, and your high places, because of sin, throughout all your borders.
4You, even of yourself, will discontinue from your heritage that I gave you. I will cause you to serve your enemies in the land which you don’t know, for you have kindled a fire in my anger which will burn forever.”
5The LORD says: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man, relies on strength of flesh, and whose heart departs from the LORD.
6For he will be like a bush in the desert, and will not see when good comes, but will inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, an uninhabited salt land.
7“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose confidence is in the LORD.
8For he will be as a tree planted by the waters, who spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes, but its leaf will be green, and will not be concerned in the year of drought. It won’t cease from yielding fruit.
9The heart is deceitful above all things and it is exceedingly corrupt. Who can know it?

20Tell them, ‘Hear the LORD’s word, you kings of Judah, all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates:
21The LORD says, “Be careful, and bear no burden on the Sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem.
22Don’t carry a burden out of your houses on the Sabbath day. Don’t do any work, but make the Sabbath day holy, as I commanded your fathers.
23But they didn’t listen. They didn’t turn their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, and might not receive instruction.
24It will happen, if you diligently listen to me,” says the LORD, “to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the Sabbath day, but to make the Sabbath day holy, to do no work therein;
25then there will enter in by the gates of this city kings and princes sitting on David’s throne, riding in chariots and on horses, they and their princes, the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and this city will remain forever.
26They will come from the cities of Judah, and from the places around Jerusalem, from the land of Benjamin, from the lowland, from the hill country, and from the South, bringing burnt offerings, sacrifices, meal offerings, and frankincense, and bringing sacrifices of thanksgiving to the LORD’s house.
27But if you will not listen to me to make the Sabbath day holy, and not to bear a burden and enter in at the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day, then I will kindle a fire in its gates, and it will devour the palaces of Jerusalem. It will not be quenched.”’”
