Jeremías 17
Nova Bíblia Viva
1“Parece que o pecado foi gravado no coração de tábua do povo de Judá com um ferro bem afiado, com a ponta de um diamante, bem como nas pontas dos seus altares.
2Os seus filhos lembram dos altares dos falsos deuses, debaixo das grandes árvores, no alto dos montes
3e sobre as montanhas do campo. Por isso, vou entregar aos inimigos as riquezas e tesouros do povo de Judá; eu os darei como despojo. Eles dominarão sobre a terra, inclusive os montes onde vocês pecaram, em todo o país; esse vai ser o castigo pelo pecado do povo.
4Vocês mesmos serão culpados de perder a maravilhosa herança que eu lhes dei. Vocês serão levados como escravos dos seus inimigos para uma terra estranha e distante, pois acendeu-se a minha ira, e ela vai queimar para sempre”.
5Assim diz o Senhor: “Maldito é o homem que confia nas suas próprias forças e na capacidade humana, afastando o seu coração do Senhor.
6Ele será como uma pequena árvore seca no meio do deserto. A sua vida será como o deserto de Judá, seco e salgado, uma terra onde ninguém é capaz de viver. A verdadeira felicidade passa muito longe dele!
7“Mas o homem que confia no Senhor, que colocou no Senhor toda a sua esperança, esse sim é muito feliz! A sua vida é cheia de bênçãos.
8Ele será como uma árvore plantada à beira de um rio; as suas raízes entram profundamente na terra, em direção à água. Por isso, ele não se incomodará com o calor, e suas folhas continuam sempre verdes; mesmo no tempo da seca ele não fica ansioso, nem deixa de produzir frutos.
9O coração é mais mentiroso e traiçoeiro que qualquer outra coisa; o coração do homem é terrivelmente cheio de maldade. Não há ninguém capaz de saber até que ponto é mau e pecador o coração humano!
10Somente o Senhor sabe! Ele examina cuidadosamente o coração e os pensamentos do homem para dar a cada um a justa recompensa, de acordo com a sua conduta e de acordo com as suas obras”.
11O homem que consegue muitas riquezas com a desonestidade é como a perdiz que choca ovos de outros pássaros. Quando os filhotes crescerem, eles a abandonarão, assim também as riquezas do homem desonesto desaparecerão, e no final ele não passará de um tolo.
12Um trono glorioso, exaltado desde o princípio, é o lugar do nosso templo.
13Ó Senhor, esperança de Israel, quem o abandona acabará na maior desgraça; quem se afasta do Senhor será levado embora, como palavras escritas no pó. Tudo isso porque abandonaram o Senhor, a fonte das águas vivas.
14Ó Deus, só o Senhor pode me curar, somente o Senhor pode me salvar. Por isso, eu louvo apenas o Senhor!
15O povo zomba de mim e pergunta: “Como é, Jeremias? Onde estão as ameaças que você anda fazendo em nome do Senhor? Quando elas vão ser cumpridas?”
16Senhor, eu não desobedeci às suas ordens e me tornei profeta; mas não estou torcendo para o meu povo ser castigado com tanto sofrimento. Tudo que anunciei ao povo é do seu conhecimento.
17Senhor, não seja para mim motivo de pavor! O Senhor é minha única esperança no dia da desgraça.
18Castigue essa gente que deseja me matar; faça cair sobre eles a vergonha e a desgraça que desejam para mim. Apresse sobre eles o dia da desgraça; dê a todos eles um castigo dobrado!
19Então o Senhor me respondeu: “Vá e fique junto à porta do Povo, ao portão por onde os reis entram e saem da cidade. Depois faça o mesmo junto de cada portão de Jerusalém
20e anuncie ao povo: Ouçam a palavra do Senhor, reis de Judá e todo o povo de Judá e habitantes de Jerusalém, vocês que passam por estas portas”.
21Assim diz o Senhor: “Se vocês amam suas próprias vidas, não façam comércio no dia de sábado! Não levem cargas nem passem pelas portas de Jerusalém no dia de sábado.
22Não façam trabalho algum; não levem carga alguma para fora de casa, mas separem para o Senhor o dia de sábado, como dia santo, como ordenei aos seus pais.
23Mas eles não me deram ouvidos. Foram teimosos e desobedientes, não quiseram ser ensinados por mim.
24Mas, se vocês me obedecerem”, diz o Senhor, “e deixarem de trabalhar no meu dia de descanso, não fizerem passar carga alguma pelas portas desta cidade no sábado, mas separarem o dia de sábado como dia consagrado,
25então esta nação continuará existindo. Sempre haverá reis, da família de Davi, assentados no trono de Judá; os reis e os príncipes marcharão pelas ruas e passarão pelos portões de Jerusalém, em belos cavalos e carruagens! Jerusalém será habitada para sempre.
26Virá gente de todas as partes de Judá, das cidades de Benjamim, das vilas próximas a Jerusalém e da Sefelá, das montanhas do Neguebe, para apresentar ofertas queimadas de animais e cereais. Eles trarão incenso e farão ofertas de gratidão, para louvar o Senhor no seu templo.
27Mas, se vocês não me obedecerem e continuarem a fazer comércio, a trazer mercadorias pelos portões, deixando de guardar o sábado como dia consagrado, vou pôr fogo nos portões de Jerusalém onde vocês negociam. Esse fogo vai se espalhar pelos palácios, e ninguém será capaz de apagar o incêndio!”

1EL pecado de Judá escrito está con cincel de hierro, y con punta de diamante: esculpido está en la tabla de su corazón, y en los lados de vuestros altares;
2Cuando sus hijos se acuerdan de sus altares y de sus bosques, junto á los árboles verdes y en los collados altos.
3¡Oh mi montaña! tu hacienda en el campo y todos tus tesoros daré á saco, por el pecado de tus altos en todos tus términos.
4Y habrá en ti cesación de tu heredad, la cual yo te dí, y te haré servir á tus enemigos en tierra que no conociste; porque fuego habéis encendido en mi furor, para siempre arderá.
5Así ha dicho Jehová: Maldito el varón que confía en el hombre, y pone carne por su brazo, y su corazón se aparta de Jehová.
6Pues será como la retama en el desierto, y no verá cuando viniere el bien; sino que morará en las securas en el desierto, en tierra despoblada y deshabitada.
7Bendito el varón que se fía en Jehová, y cuya confianza es Jehová.
8Porque él será como el árbol plantado junto á las aguas, que junto á la corriente echará sus raices, y no verá cuando viniere el calor, sino que su hoja estará verde; y en el año de sequía no se fatigará, ni dejará de hacer fruto.
9Engañoso es el corazón más que todas las cosas, y perverso; ¿quién lo conocerá?
10Yo Jehová, que escudriño el corazón, que pruebo los riñones, para dar á cada uno según su camino, según el fruto de sus obras.
11Como la perdiz que cubre lo que no puso, es el que allega riquezas, y no con justicia; en medio de sus días las dejará, y en su postrimería será insipiente.
12Trono de gloria, excelso desde el principio, es el lugar de nuestro santuario.
13¡Oh Jehová, esperanza de Israel! todos los que te dejan, serán avergonzados; y los que de mí se apartan, serán escritos en el polvo; porque dejaron la vena de aguas vivas, á Jehová.
14Sáname, oh Jehová, y seré sano; sálvame, y seré salvo: porque tú eres mi alabanza.
15He aquí que ellos me dicen: ¿Dónde está la palabra de Jehová? venga ahora.
16Mas yo no me entrometí á ser pastor en pos de ti, ni deseé día de calamidad, tú lo sabes. Lo que de mi boca ha salido, fué en tu presencia.
17No me seas tú por espanto: esperanza mía eres tú en el día malo.
18Avergüéncense los que me persiguen, y no me avergüence yo; asómbrense ellos, y yo no me asombre: trae sobre ellos día malo, y quebrántalos con doble quebrantamiento.
19Así me ha dicho Jehová: Ve, y ponte á la puerta de los hijos del pueblo, por la cual entran y salen los reyes de Judá, y á todas las puertas de Jerusalem,
20Y diles: Oid la palabra de Jehová, reyes de Judá, y todo Judá, y todos los moradores de Jerusalem que entráis por estas puertas.
21Así ha dicho Jehová: Guardaos por vuestras vidas, y no traigáis carga en el día del sábado, para meter por las puertas de Jerusalem;
22Ni saquéis carga de vuestras casas en el día del sábado, ni hagáis obra alguna: mas santificad el día del sábado, como mandé á vuestros padres;
23Mas ellos no oyeron, ni inclinaron su oído, antes endurecieron su cerviz, por no oir, ni recibir corrección.
24Será empero, si vosotros me obedeciereis, dice Jehová, no metiendo carga por las puertas de esta ciudad en el día del sábado, sino que santificareis el día del sábado, no haciendo en él ninguna obra;
25Que entrarán por las puertas de esta ciudad, en carros y en caballos, los reyes y los príncipes que se sientan sobre el trono de David, ellos y sus príncipes, los varones de Judá, y los moradores de Jerusalem: y esta ciudad será habitada para siempre.
26Y vendrán de las ciudades de Judá, y de los alrededores de Jerusalem, y de tierra de Benjamín, y de los campos, y del monte, y del austro, trayendo holocausto y sacrificio, y ofrenda é incienso, y trayendo sacrificio de alabanza á la casa de Jehová.
27Mas si no me oyereis para santificar el día del sábado, y para no traer carga ni meterla por las puertas de Jerusalem en día de sábado, yo haré encender fuego en sus puertas, y consumirá los palacios de Jerusalem, y no se apagará.

1The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the table of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars;
2Whilst their children remember their altars and their groves by the green trees upon the high hills.
3O my mountain in the field, I will give thy substance and all thy treasures to the spoil, and thy high places for sin, throughout all thy borders.
4And thou, even thyself, shalt discontinue from thine heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest not: for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever.
5Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
6For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
7Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
8For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
9The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
10I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
11As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.
12A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary.
13O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.
14Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.
15Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of the LORD? let it come now.
16As for me, I have not hastened from being a pastor to follow thee: neither have I desired the woeful day; thou knowest: that which came out of my lips was right before thee.
17Be not a terror unto me: thou art my hope in the day of evil.
18Let them be confounded that persecute me, but let not me be confounded: let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed: bring upon them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.
19Thus said the LORD unto me; Go and stand in the gate of the children of the people, whereby the kings of Judah come in, and by the which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem;
20And say unto them, Hear ye the word of the LORD, ye kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates:
21Thus saith the LORD; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem;
22Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work, but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers.
23But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction.
24And it shall come to pass, if ye diligently hearken unto me, saith the LORD, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but hallow the sabbath day, to do no work therein;
25Then shall there enter into the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and this city shall remain for ever.
26And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and meat offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise, unto the house of the LORD.
27But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.

1“The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond. It is engraved on the tablet of their heart, and on the horns of your altars.
2Even their children remember their altars and their Asherah poles by the green trees on the high hills.
3My mountain in the field, I will give your substance and all your treasures for a plunder, and your high places, because of sin, throughout all your borders.
4You, even of yourself, will discontinue from your heritage that I gave you. I will cause you to serve your enemies in the land which you don’t know, for you have kindled a fire in my anger which will burn forever.”
5The LORD says: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man, relies on strength of flesh, and whose heart departs from the LORD.
6For he will be like a bush in the desert, and will not see when good comes, but will inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, an uninhabited salt land.
7“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose confidence is in the LORD.
8For he will be as a tree planted by the waters, who spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes, but its leaf will be green, and will not be concerned in the year of drought. It won’t cease from yielding fruit.
9The heart is deceitful above all things and it is exceedingly corrupt. Who can know it?
10“I, the LORD, search the mind. I try the heart, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.”

21The LORD says, “Be careful, and bear no burden on the Sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem.
22Don’t carry a burden out of your houses on the Sabbath day. Don’t do any work, but make the Sabbath day holy, as I commanded your fathers.
23But they didn’t listen. They didn’t turn their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, and might not receive instruction.
24It will happen, if you diligently listen to me,” says the LORD, “to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the Sabbath day, but to make the Sabbath day holy, to do no work therein;
25then there will enter in by the gates of this city kings and princes sitting on David’s throne, riding in chariots and on horses, they and their princes, the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and this city will remain forever.
26They will come from the cities of Judah, and from the places around Jerusalem, from the land of Benjamin, from the lowland, from the hill country, and from the South, bringing burnt offerings, sacrifices, meal offerings, and frankincense, and bringing sacrifices of thanksgiving to the LORD’s house.
27But if you will not listen to me to make the Sabbath day holy, and not to bear a burden and enter in at the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day, then I will kindle a fire in its gates, and it will devour the palaces of Jerusalem. It will not be quenched.”’”
