Et ce sont ici les nations que l’Éternel laissa subsister pour éprouver par elles Israël, †savoir tous ceux qui n’avaient pas connu toutes les guerres de Canaan ;

ESTAS, pues, son las gentes que dejó Jehová para probar con ellas á Israel, á todos aquellos que no habían conocido todas las guerras de Canaán;

Now these are the nations which the LORD left, to prove Israel by them, even as many of Israel as had not known all the wars of Canaan;

†et cela seulement afin que les générations des fils d’Israël connaissent, en l’apprenant, ce que c’est que la guerre, ceux du moins qui auparavant n’en avaient rien connu :

Para que al menos el linaje de los hijos de Israel conociese, para enseñarlos en la guerra, siquiera fuese á los que antes no la habían conocido:

Only that the generations of the children of Israel might know, to teach them war, at the least such as before knew nothing thereof;

Namely, five lords of the Philistines, and all the Canaanites, and the Sidonians, and the Hivites that dwelt in mount Lebanon, from mount Baal-hermon unto the entering in of Hamath.

elles étaient †laissées pour éprouver par elles Israël, pour savoir s’ils écouteraient les commandements de l’Éternel, qu’il avait commandés à leurs pères par Moïse.

Estos pues fueron para probar por ellos á Israel, para saber si obedecerían á los mandamientos de Jehová, que él había prescrito á sus padres por mano de Moisés.

And they were to prove Israel by them, to know whether they would hearken unto the commandments of the LORD, which he commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses.

They were left to test Israel by them, to know whether they would listen to the LORD’s commandments, which he commanded their fathers by Moses.

*Et les fils d’Israël habitèrent au milieu des Cananéens, des Héthiens, et des Amoréens, et des Phéréziens, et des Héviens, et des Jébusiens.

Así los hijos de Israel habitaban entre los Cananeos, Hetheos, Amorrheos, Pherezeos, Heveos, y Jebuseos:

And the children of Israel dwelt among the Canaanites, Hittites, and Amorites, and Perizzites, and Hivites, and Jebusites:

The children of Israel lived among the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

Et ils prirent leurs filles pour femmes, et donnèrent leurs filles à leurs fils, et servirent leurs dieux.

Y tomaron de sus hijas por mujeres, y dieron sus hijas á los hijos de ellos, y sirvieron á sus dioses.

And they took their daughters to be their wives, and gave their daughters to their sons, and served their gods.

Et les fils d’Israël firent ce qui est mauvais aux yeux de l’Éternel, et ils oublièrent l’Éternel, leur Dieu, et servirent les Baals et les ashères.

Hicieron, pues, los hijos de Israel lo malo en ojos de Jehová: y olvidados de Jehová su Dios, sirvieron á los Baales, y á los ídolos de los bosques.

And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and forgat the LORD their God, and served Baalim and the groves.

Et la colère de l’Éternel s’embrasa contre Israël, et il les vendit en la main de Cushan-Rishhathaïm, roi d’Aram-Naharaïm. Et les fils d’Israël servirent Cushan-Rishhathaïm huit ans.

Y la saña de Jehová se encendió contra Israel, y vendiólos en manos de Chusan-risathaim, rey de Mesopotamia; y sirvieron los hijos de Israel á Chusan-risathaim ocho años.

Therefore the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Chushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia: and the children of Israel served Chushan-rishathaim eight years.

Therefore the LORD’s anger burned against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Cushan Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia; and the children of Israel served Cushan Rishathaim eight years.

Et les fils d’Israël crièrent à l’Éternel ; et l’Éternel suscita aux fils d’Israël un sauveur qui les délivra, Othniel, fils de Kenaz, frère puîné de Caleb.

Y clamaron los hijos de Israel á Jehová; y Jehová suscitó salvador á los hijos de Israel y librólos; es á saber, á Othoniel hijo de Cenez, hermano menor de Caleb.

And when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother.

When the children of Israel cried to the LORD, the LORD raised up a savior to the children of Israel, who saved them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother.

Et l’Esprit de l’Éternel fut sur lui, et il jugea Israël ; et il sortit pour la guerre, et l’Éternel livra en sa main Cushan-Rishhathaïm, roi d’Aram, et sa main fut forte contre Cushan-Rishhathaïm.

Y el espíritu de Jehová fué sobre él, y juzgó á Israel, y salió á batalla, y Jehová entregó en su mano á Chusan-risathaim, rey de Siria, y prevaleció su mano contra Chusan-risathaim.

And the Spirit of the LORD came upon him, and he judged Israel, and went out to war: and the LORD delivered Chushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed against Chushan-rishathaim.

Et le pays fut en repos 40 ans. Et Othniel, fils de Kenaz, mourut.

Y reposó la tierra cuarenta años; y murió Othoniel, hijo de Cenez.

And the land had rest forty years. And Othniel the son of Kenaz died.

Et les fils d’Israël firent de nouveau ce qui est mauvais aux yeux de l’Éternel, et l’Éternel fortifia Églon, roi de Moab, contre Israël, parce qu’ils faisaient ce qui est mauvais aux yeux de l’Éternel.

Y tornaron los hijos de Israel á hacer lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová; y Jehová esforzó á Eglón rey de Moab contra Israel, por cuanto habían hecho lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová.

And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done evil in the sight of the LORD.

The children of Israel again did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, and the LORD strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done that which was evil in the LORD’s sight.

Et †Églon assembla auprès de lui les fils d’Ammon et Amalek, et il alla et frappa Israël ; et ils prirent possession de la ville des palmiers.

Y juntó consigo á los hijos de Ammón y de Amalec, y fué, é hirió á Israel, y tomó la ciudad de las palmas.

And he gathered unto him the children of Ammon and Amalek, and went and smote Israel, and possessed the city of palm trees.

Et les fils d’Israël servirent Églon, roi de Moab, 18 ans.

Y sirvieron los hijos de Israel á Eglón rey de los Moabitas diez y ocho años.

Y clamaron los hijos de Israel á Jehová; y Jehová les suscitó salvador, á Aod, hijo de Gera, Benjamita, el cual tenía cerrada la mano derecha. Y los hijos de Israel enviaron con él un presente á Eglón rey de Moab.

But when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised them up a deliverer, Ehud the son of Gera, a Benjamite, a man lefthanded: and by him the children of Israel sent a present unto Eglon the king of Moab.

But when the children of Israel cried to the LORD, the LORD raised up a savior for them: Ehud the son of Gera, the Benjamite, a left-handed man. The children of Israel sent tribute by him to Eglon the king of Moab.

Et Éhud se fit faire une épée à deux tranchants, longue d’une petite coudée, et il la ceignit par-dessous ses vêtements, sur la hanche droite.

Y Aod se había hecho un puñal de dos filos, de un codo de largo; y ciñósele debajo de sus vestidos á su lado derecho.

But Ehud made him a dagger which had two edges, of a cubit length; and he did gird it under his raiment upon his right thigh.

Ehud made himself a sword which had two edges, a cubit in length; and he wore it under his clothing on his right thigh.

Et il offrit le présent à Églon, roi de Moab ; or Églon était un homme très gras.

Y presentó el presente á Eglón rey de Moab; y era Eglón hombre muy grueso.

And he brought the present unto Eglon king of Moab: and Eglon was a very fat man.

He offered the tribute to Eglon king of Moab. Now Eglon was a very fat man.

Et il arriva que, lorsqu’il eut achevé d’offrir le présent, il renvoya les gens qui avaient apporté le présent.

Y luego que hubo presentado el don, despidió á la gente que lo había traído.

And when he had made an end to offer the present, he sent away the people that bare the present.

When Ehud had finished offering the tribute, he sent away the people who carried the tribute.

Mais lui s’en revint des images taillées, qui étaient près de Guilgal, et dit : J’ai pour toi une parole secrète, ô roi ! Et il dit : Silence ! Et tous ceux qui étaient près de lui sortirent d’auprès de lui.

Mas él se volvió desde los ídolos que están en Gilgal, y dijo: Rey, una palabra secreta tengo que decirte. El entonces dijo: Calla. Y saliéronse de con él todos los que delante de él estaban.

But he himself turned again from the quarries that were by Gilgal, and said, I have a secret errand unto thee, O king: who said, Keep silence. And all that stood by him went out from him.

But he himself turned back from the stone idols that were by Gilgal, and said, “I have a secret message for you, O king.” The king said, “Keep silence!” All who stood by him left him.

Et Éhud entra vers lui ; or il était assis dans une chambre haute de rafraîchissement, qui était pour lui seul ; et Éhud dit : J’ai une parole de Dieu pour toi. Et †le roi se leva de son siège ;

Y llegóse Aod á él, el cual estaba sentado solo en una sala de verano. Y Aod dijo: Tengo palabra de Dios para ti. El entonces se levantó de la silla.

And Ehud came unto him; and he was sitting in a summer parlour, which he had for himself alone. And Ehud said, I have a message from God unto thee. And he arose out of his seat.

Ehud came to him; and he was sitting by himself alone in the cool upper room. Ehud said, “I have a message from God to you.” He arose out of his seat.

et Éhud étendit sa main gauche, et prit l’épée de dessus son côté droit, et la lui enfonça dans le ventre ;

Mas Aod metió su mano izquierda, y tomó el puñal de su lado derecho, y metióselo por el vientre;

And Ehud put forth his left hand, and took the dagger from his right thigh, and thrust it into his belly:

Ehud put out his left hand, and took the sword from his right thigh, and thrust it into his body.

et même la poignée entra après la lame, et la graisse se referma sur la lame ; car il ne retira pas l’épée de son ventre, et elle sortit entre les jambes.

De tal manera que la empuñadura entró también tras la hoja, y la grosura encerró la hoja, que él no sacó el puñal de su vientre: y salió el estiércol.

And the haft also went in after the blade; and the fat closed upon the blade, so that he could not draw the dagger out of his belly; and the dirt came out.

The handle also went in after the blade; and the fat closed on the blade, for he didn’t draw the sword out of his body; and it came out behind.

Et Éhud sortit par le portique, et ferma sur lui les portes de la chambre haute, et mit le verrou.

Y saliendo Aod al patio, cerró tras sí las puertas de la sala.

Then Ehud went forth through the porch, and shut the doors of the parlour upon him, and locked them.

Then Ehud went out onto the porch, and shut the doors of the upper room on him, and locked them.

Et quand il fut sorti, les serviteurs du roi vinrent, et virent : et voici, les portes de la chambre haute étaient fermées au verrou ; et ils dirent : Sans doute il se couvre les pieds dans la chambre de rafraîchissement.

Y salido él, vinieron sus siervos, los cuales viendo las puertas de la sala cerradas, dijeron: Sin duda él cubre sus pies en la sala de verano.

When he was gone out, his servants came; and when they saw that, behold, the doors of the parlour were locked, they said, Surely he covereth his feet in his summer chamber.

After he had gone, his servants came and saw that the doors of the upper room were locked. They said, “Surely he is covering his feet in the upper room.”

Et ils attendirent jusqu’à en avoir honte ; et voici, on n’ouvrait pas les portes de la chambre ; et ils prirent la clé et ouvrirent, et voici, leur seigneur gisait par terre, mort.

Y habiendo esperado hasta estar confusos, pues que él no abría las puertas de la sala, tomaron la llave y abrieron: y he aquí su señor caído en tierra muerto.

And they tarried till they were ashamed: and, behold, he opened not the doors of the parlour; therefore they took a key, and opened them: and, behold, their lord was fallen down dead on the earth.

They waited until they were ashamed; and behold, he didn’t open the doors of the upper room. Therefore they took the key and opened them, and behold, their lord had fallen down dead on the floor.

Et Éhud s’était échappé pendant qu’ils tardaient, et avait dépassé les images taillées ; et il se sauva à Sehira.

Mas entre tanto que ellos se detuvieron, Aod se escapó, y pasando los ídolos, salvóse en Seirath.

And Ehud escaped while they tarried, and passed beyond the quarries, and escaped unto Seirath.

Ehud escaped while they waited, passed beyond the stone idols, and escaped to Seirah.

Et quand il y fut entré, il arriva qu’il sonna de la trompette dans la montagne d’Éphraïm ; et les fils d’Israël descendirent avec lui de la montagne, et lui devant eux.

Y como hubo entrado, tocó el cuerno en el monte de Ephraim, y los hijos de Israel descendieron con él del monte, y él iba delante de ellos.

And it came to pass, when he was come, that he blew a trumpet in the mountain of Ephraim, and the children of Israel went down with him from the mount, and he before them.

When he had come, he blew a trumpet in the hill country of Ephraim; and the children of Israel went down with him from the hill country, and he led them.

Et il leur dit : Suivez-moi, car l’Éternel a livré en votre main vos ennemis, les Moabites. Et ils descendirent après lui, et enlevèrent à Moab les gués du Jourdain, et ne laissèrent passer personne.

Entonces él les dijo: Seguidme, porque Jehová ha entregado vuestros enemigos los Moabitas en vuestras manos. Y descendieron en pos de él, y tomaron los vados del Jordán á Moab, y no dejaron pasar á ninguno.

And he said unto them, Follow after me: for the LORD hath delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand. And they went down after him, and took the fords of Jordan toward Moab, and suffered not a man to pass over.

He said to them, “Follow me; for the LORD has delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand.” They followed him, and took the fords of the Jordan against the Moabites, and didn’t allow any man to pass over.

Et en ce temps-là, ils frappèrent Moab, environ 10 000 hommes, tous forts et tous vaillants, et pas un n’échappa.

Y en aquel tiempo hirieron de los Moabitas como diez mil hombres, todos valientes y todos hombres de guerra; no escapó hombre.

And they slew of Moab at that time about ten thousand men, all lusty, and all men of valour; and there escaped not a man.

They struck at that time about ten thousand men of Moab, every strong man and every man of valor. No man escaped.

Et en ce jour-là, Moab fut abattu sous la main d’Israël ; et le pays fut en repos 80 ans.

Así quedó Moab sojuzgado aquel día bajo la mano de Israel: y reposó la tierra ochenta años.

So Moab was subdued that day under the hand of Israel. And the land had rest fourscore years.

Et après lui, il y eut Shamgar, fils d’Anath ; et il frappa les Philistins, 600 hommes, avec un aiguillon à bœufs. Et lui aussi sauva Israël.

Después de éste fué Samgar hijo de Anat, el cual hirió seiscientos hombres de los Filisteos con una aguijada de bueyes; y él también salvó á Israel.

And after him was Shamgar the son of Anath, which slew of the Philistines six hundred men with an ox goad: and he also delivered Israel.
