Tappen müssen wir wie Blinde an der Wand und wie Augenlose müssen wir umhertappen; am hellen Mittage straucheln wir wie in der Dämmerung: unter Kraftstrotzenden gleichen wir den Toten.

Palpamos la pared como ciegos, y andamos á tiento como sin ojos; tropezamos al medio día como de noche; estamos en oscuros lugares como muertos.

We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men.
