Isaías 54

1Regocíjate, pues, ¡oh estéril!, tú que no pares; canta himnos de alabanza y de júbilo tú que no eres fecunda, porque ya son muchos más los hijos de la que había sido desechada, que los de aquella que tenía marido, dice el Señor.
2Toma un sitio más espacioso para tus tiendas, y extiende cuanto puedas las pieles o cubiertas de tus pabellones, alarga tus cuerdas, y afianza más tus estacas.
3Porque tú te extenderás a la derecha y a la izquierda; y tu prole señoreará las naciones, poblará las ciudades ahora desiertas.
4No temas, no quedarás confundida, ni sonrojada, ni tendrás de qué avergonzarte; porque ni memoria conservarás de la confusión de tu mocedad, ni te acordarás más del oprobio de tu viudez.
5Pues será tu dueño y esposo aquel Señor que te ha creado, cuyo nombre es el Señor de los ejércitos; y tu redentor, el Santo de Israel, será llamado el Dios de toda la tierra.
6Porque el Señor te ha llamado a sí cuando eras como una mujer desechada, y angustiada de espíritu, como una mujer que ha sido repudiada desde su tierna edad, dice tu Dios.
7En efecto, por un momento, por poco tiempo te desamparé, dice el Señor; mas ahora yo te reuniré a mí, usando de gran misericordia.
8En el momento de mi indignación aparté de ti mi rostro por un poco; pero en seguida me he compadecido de ti con eterna misericordia, dice el Señor que te ha redimido.
9Hago lo que en los días de Noé , a quien juré que no derramaría más sobre la tierra las aguas del diluvio, así yo juro no enojarme contigo ni vituperarte más.
10Aun cuando los montes sean conmovidos, y se estremezcan los collados, mi misericordia no se apartará de ti, y será firme la alianza de paz que he hecho contigo, dice el Señor, compadecido de ti.
11Pobrecilla, combatida tanto tiempo de la tempestad, privada de todo consuelo. Mira, yo mismo colocaré por orden las piedras, y te edificaré sobre zafiros,
12y haré de jaspe tus baluartes, y de piedras de relieve tus puertas, y de piedras preciosas todos tus recintos.
13Tus hijos todos serán adoctrinados por el mismo Señor, y gozarán abundancia de paz, o completa prosperidad.
14Y tendrás por cimientos la justicia; estarás segura de la opresión, y no tendrás que temerla; y del espanto, el cual no tendrá lugar en ti.
15He aquí que vendrá el forastero que no estaba conmigo; se unirá contigo aquel que en otro tiempo era para ti extranjero.
16Sábete que yo he creado el herrero que soplando con los fuelles enciende los carbones para formar un instrumento para la obra suya, y yo creé también al matador que lo emplea después para matar a los hombres.
17Ningún instrumento preparado contra ti te hará daño; y tú condenarás toda lengua que se presente en juicio contra ti. Esta es la herencia de los siervos del Señor, y ésta es la justicia que deben esperar de mí, dice el Señor.

1ALÉGRATE, oh estéril, la que no paría; levanta canción, y da voces de júbilo, la que nunca estuvo de parto: porque más son los hijos de la dejada que los de la casada, ha dicho Jehová.
2Ensancha el sitio de tu cabaña, y las cortinas de tus tiendas sean extendidas; no seas escasa; alarga tus cuerdas, y fortifica tus estacas.
3Porque á la mano derecha y á la mano izquierda has de crecer; y tu simiente heredará gentes, y habitarán las ciudades asoladas.
4No temas, que no serás avergonzada; y no te avergüences, que no serás afrentada: antes, te olvidarás de la vergüenza de tu mocedad, y de la afrenta de tu viudez no tendrás más memoria.
5Porque tu marido es tu Hacedor; Jehová de los ejércitos es su nombre: y tu redentor, el Santo de Israel; Dios de toda la tierra será llamado.
6Porque como á mujer dejada y triste de espíritu te llamó Jehová, y como á mujer moza que es repudiada, dijo el Dios tuyo.
7Por un pequeño momento te dejé; mas te recogeré con grandes misericordias.
8Con un poco de ira escondí mi rostro de ti por un momento; mas con misericordia eterna tendré compasión de ti, dijo tu Redentor Jehová.
9Porque esto me será como las aguas de Noé; que juré que nunca más las aguas de Noé pasarían sobre la tierra; así he jurado que no me enojaré contra ti, ni te reñiré.
10Porque los montes se moverán, y los collados temblarán; mas no se apartará de ti mi misericordia, ni el pacto de mi paz vacilará, dijo Jehová, el que tiene misericordia de ti.
11Pobrecita, fatigada con tempestad, sin consuelo; he aquí que yo cimentaré tus piedras sobre carbunclo, y sobre zafiros te fundaré.
12Tus ventanas pondré de piedras preciosas, tus puertas de piedras de carbunclo, y todo tu término de piedras de buen gusto.
13Y todos tus hijos serán enseñados de Jehová; y multiplicará la paz de tus hijos.
14Con justicia serás adornada; estarás lejos de opresión, porque no temerás; y de temor, porque no se acercará á ti.
15Si alguno conspirare contra ti, será sin mí: el que contra ti conspirare, delante de ti caerá.
16He aquí que yo crié al herrero que sopla las ascuas en el fuego, y que saca la herramienta para su obra; y yo he criado al destruidor para destruir.
17Toda herramienta que fuere fabricada contra ti, no prosperará; y tú condenarás toda lengua que se levantare contra ti en juicio. Esta es la heredad de los siervos de Jehová, y su justicia de por mí, dijo Jehová.

1Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.
2Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;
3For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.
4Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.
5For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.
6For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God.
7For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.
8In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer.
9For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.
10For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.
11O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted, behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colours, and lay thy foundations with sapphires.
12And I will make thy windows of agates, and thy gates of carbuncles, and all thy borders of pleasant stones.
13And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.
14In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.
15Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.
16Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.
17No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

1“Sing, barren, you who didn’t give birth! Break out into singing, and cry aloud, you who didn’t travail with child! For more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife,” says the LORD.
2“Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch out the curtains of your habitations; don’t spare; lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes.
3For you will spread out on the right hand and on the left; and your offspring will possess the nations and settle in desolate cities.
4“Don’t be afraid, for you will not be ashamed. Don’t be confounded, for you will not be disappointed. For you will forget the shame of your youth. You will remember the reproach of your widowhood no more.
5For your Maker is your husband; the LORD of Armies is his name. The Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer. He will be called the God of the whole earth.
6For the LORD has called you as a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit, even a wife of youth, when she is cast off,” says your God.
7“For a small moment I have forsaken you, but I will gather you with great mercies.
8In overflowing wrath I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting loving kindness I will have mercy on you,” says the LORD your Redeemer.
9“For this is like the waters of Noah to me; for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah will no more go over the earth, so I have sworn that I will not be angry with you, nor rebuke you.
10For the mountains may depart, and the hills be removed, but my loving kindness will not depart from you, and my covenant of peace will not be removed,” says the LORD who has mercy on you.
11“You afflicted, tossed with storms, and not comforted, behold, I will set your stones in beautiful colors, and lay your foundations with sapphires.
12I will make your pinnacles of rubies, your gates of sparkling jewels, and all your walls of precious stones.
13All your children will be taught by the LORD, and your children’s peace will be great.
14You will be established in righteousness. You will be far from oppression, for you will not be afraid, and far from terror, for it shall not come near you.
15Behold, they may gather together, but not by me. Whoever gathers together against you will fall because of you.
16“Behold, I have created the blacksmith who fans the coals into flame, and forges a weapon for his work; and I have created the destroyer to destroy.
17No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the LORD’s servants, and their righteousness is of me,” says the LORD.
