1KOMMET herzu, ihr Völker, zu hören, und ihr Nationen, merket auf! Es höre die Erde und was sie erfüllt, der Erdkreis und alles, was ihm entsprosst!
2Denn zornig ist der Herr über alle Völker und ergrimmt über all ihr Heer; er hat sie dem Banne geweiht, sie zur Schlachtbank geliefert,
3und ihre Erschlagenen werden hingeworfen, und von ihren Leichen steigt der Gestank auf; die Berge zerfliessen von ihrem Blute,
4und alle Hügel zergehen. Der Himmel rollt sich zusammen wie eine Schriftrolle, und all sein Heer welkt ab, wie das Blatt am Weinstock abwelkt und wie welkes Laub am Feigenbaum. (a) Mt 24:29; 2Pe 3:10; Off 6:13 14
5Denn trunken ward im Himmel das Schwert des Herrn; siehe, auf Edom fährt es herab, auf das Volk, das er dem Banne geweiht hat, zum Gerichte.
6Ein Schwert führt der Herr, das voll ist von Blut, bedeckt von Fett, von dem Blute der Lämmer und Böcke, von dem Nierenfette der Widder; denn ein Opferfest hält der Herr in Bozra, ein grosses Schlachten im Lande Edom.
7Da werden Wildochsen mit jenen fallen und Farren mit starken (Stieren); und ihr Land wird getränkt von Blut und ihr Erdreich von Fett gedüngt.
8Denn ein Tag der Rache kommt vom Herrn, ein Jahr der Vergeltung für den Hader mit Zion. (a) Jes 63:4
9Und seine Bäche wandeln sich in Pech und sein Erdreich in Schwefel, und sein Land wird zu Pech, brennend bei Nacht und bei Tage.
10Nimmer wird es erlöschen; sein Rauch steigt auf von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht. Wüste liegt es auf ewige Zeiten, niemand wandert hindurch. (a) Off 14:11; 19:3
11Rohrdommel und Igel werden es besitzen, Uhu und Rabe darin wohnen; und der Herr wird die Messschnur der Verödung darüber spannen und das Senkblei der Verwüstung. (a) 2Kön 21:13; Zef 2:14
12Feldteufel werden darin wohnen, und seine Edlen werden nicht mehr sein; kein Königtum gibt's dort mehr auszurufen, und alle seine Fürsten sind dahin.
13In seinen Palästen werden Dornen wachsen, Nesseln und Disteln in seinen Burgen, dass sie eine Wohnstatt der Schakale werden und ein Gehöfte für die Strausse.
14Da stossen Wüstenwölfe auf Hyänen, und Feldteufel begegnen einander; das Nachtgespenst nur wird dort rasten und eine Ruhestatt für sich finden. (a) Jes 13:21
15Daselbst nistet die Pfeilschlange und legt, häuft ihre Eier und brütet sie aus; die Geier nur sammeln sich dort und geben sich ihr Stelldichein.
16Forschet in der Schrift des Herrn und leset: Keines von ihnen bleibt aus; denn der Mund des Herrn hat es geboten, und sein Geist hat sie versammelt. (a) Mt 24:35
17Und er selbst hat ihnen das Los gefällt und seine Hand es ihnen zugemessen; bis in Ewigkeit werden sie es besitzen, von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht darin wohnen.

1GENTES, allegaos á oir; y escuchad, pueblos. Oiga la tierra y lo que la hinche, el mundo y todo lo que él produce.
2Porque Jehová está airado sobre todas las gentes, é irritado sobre todo el ejército de ellas: destruirálas y entregarálas al matadero.
3Y los muertos de ellas serán arrojados, y de sus cadáveres se levantará hedor; y los montes se desleirán por la sangre de ellos.
4Y todo el ejército de los cielos se corromperá, y plegarse han los cielos como un libro: y caerá todo su ejército, como se cae la hoja de la parra, y como se cae la de la higuera.
5Porque en los cielos se embriagará mi espada: he aquí que descenderá sobre Edom en juicio, y sobre el pueblo de mi anatema.
6Llena está de sangre la espada de Jehová, engrasada está de grosura, de sangre de corderos y de cabritos, de grosura de riñones de carneros: porque Jehová tiene sacrificios en Bosra, y grande matanza en tierra de Edom.
7Y con ellos vendrán abajo unicornios, y toros con becerros; y su tierra se embriagará de sangre, y su polvo se engrasará de grosura.
8Porque es día de venganza de Jehová, año de retribuciones en el pleito de Sión.
9Y sus arroyos se tornarán en pez, y su polvo en azufre, y su tierra en pez ardiente.
10No se apagará de noche ni de día, perpetuamente subirá su humo: de generación en generación será asolada, nunca jamás pasará nadie por ella.
11Y la poseerán el pelícano y el mochuelo, la lechuza y el cuervo morarán en ella: y extenderáse sobre ella cordel de destrucción, y niveles de asolamiento.
12Llamarán á sus príncipes, príncipes sin reino: y todos sus grandes serán nada.
13En sus alcázares crecerán espinas, y ortigas y cardos en sus fortalezas; y serán morada de chacales, patio para los pollos de los avestruces.
14Y las bestias monteses se encontrarán con los gatos cervales, y el peludo gritará á su compañero: la lamia también tendrá allí asiento, y hallará para sí reposo.
15Allí anidará el cuclillo, conservará sus huevos, y sacará sus pollos, y juntarálos debajo de sus alas: también se ayuntarán allí buitres, cada uno con su compañera.
16Inquirid en el libro de Jehová, y leed si faltó alguno de ellos: ninguno faltó con su compañera; porque su boca mandó, y reuniólos su mismo espíritu.
17Y él les echó las suertes, y su mano les repartió con cordel: para siempre la tendrán por heredad, de generación en generación morarán allí.

1Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye people: let the earth hear, and all that is therein; the world, and all things that come forth of it.
2For the indignation of the LORD is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter.
3Their slain also shall be cast out, and their stink shall come up out of their carcases, and the mountains shall be melted with their blood.
4And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.
5For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment.
6The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.
7And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness.
8For it is the day of the LORD’s vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.
9And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch.
10It shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever.
11But the cormorant and the bittern shall possess it; the owl also and the raven shall dwell in it: and he shall stretch out upon it the line of confusion, and the stones of emptiness.
12They shall call the nobles thereof to the kingdom, but none shall be there, and all her princes shall be nothing.
13And thorns shall come up in her palaces, nettles and brambles in the fortresses thereof: and it shall be an habitation of dragons, and a court for owls.
14The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the wild beasts of the island, and the satyr shall cry to his fellow; the screech owl also shall rest there, and find for herself a place of rest.
15There shall the great owl make her nest, and lay, and hatch, and gather under her shadow: there shall the vultures also be gathered, every one with her mate.
16Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.
17And he hath cast the lot for them, and his hand hath divided it unto them by line: they shall possess it for ever, from generation to generation shall they dwell therein.
World English Bible
1Come near, you nations, to hear! Listen, you peoples. Let the earth and all it contains hear, the world, and everything that comes from it.
2For the LORD is enraged against all the nations, and angry with all their armies. He has utterly destroyed them. He has given them over for slaughter.
3Their slain will also be cast out, and the stench of their dead bodies will come up. The mountains will melt in their blood.
4All of the army of the sky will be dissolved. The sky will be rolled up like a scroll, and all its armies will fade away, as a leaf fades from off a vine or a fig tree.
5For my sword has drunk its fill in the sky. Behold, it will come down on Edom, and on the people of my curse, for judgment.
6The LORD’s sword is filled with blood. It is covered with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams; for the LORD has a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Edom.
7The wild oxen will come down with them, and the young bulls with the mighty bulls; and their land will be drunken with blood, and their dust made greasy with fat.
8For the LORD has a day of vengeance, a year of recompense for the cause of Zion.
9Its streams will be turned into pitch, its dust into sulfur, and its land will become burning pitch.
10It won’t be quenched night or day. Its smoke will go up forever. From generation to generation, it will lie waste. No one will pass through it forever and ever.
11But the pelican and the porcupine will possess it. The owl and the raven will dwell in it. He will stretch the line of confusion over it, and the plumb line of emptiness.
12They shall call its nobles to the kingdom, but none shall be there; and all its princes shall be nothing.
13Thorns will come up in its palaces, nettles and thistles in its fortresses; and it will be a habitation of jackals, a court for ostriches.
14The wild animals of the desert will meet with the wolves, and the wild goat will cry to his fellow. Yes, the night creature shall settle there, and shall find herself a place of rest.
15The arrow snake will make her nest there, and lay, hatch, and gather under her shade. Yes, the kites will be gathered there, every one with her mate.
16Search in the book of the LORD, and read: not one of these will be missing. None will lack her mate. For my mouth has commanded, and his Spirit has gathered them.
17He has cast the lot for them, and his hand has divided it to them with a measuring line. They shall possess it forever. From generation to generation they will dwell in it.
