Isaías 28

1Ein Wehe jener stolzen Krone der Trunkenbolde Ephraims, dem wohlbesprengten Blumenkranz und seinem wunderschönen Schmuck, der auf dem Haupt des früchtereichen Tales liegt, der auf dem Haupte der vom Weine Trunkenen ist!
2Einen Mächtigen und Starken hält der Herr gleich Hagel und Verderbens Sturm bereit. Gleichwie ein Schwall gewaltiger Wassergüsse, so wirft er rücklings sie zu Boden.
3Mit Füßen wird getreten die stolze Krone dieser Trunkenbolde Ephraims.
4Dem wohlbesprengten Blumenkranz und seinem wunderschönen Schmuck, der auf dem Haupt des früchtereichen Tales ist, ergeht es wie der frühen Feige vor dem Sommer. Wer sie erblickt, der pflückt sie ab und hat sie schon verschlungen. Kaum hat er sie in seiner Hand, verschlingt er sie. -
5An jenem Tage ist der Heeresscharen Herr selbst eine schmucke Krone, ein wundervolles Diadem dem Reste seines Volkes.
6Und mit dem Geiste der Gerechtigkeit beseelt er den, der auf dem Richterstuhle sitzt, mit Tapferkeit die Männer, die den Kampf zum Tor zurückdrängen.
7Doch diese wanken auch vom Wein und taumeln von dem Biere. Vom Biere wanken Priester und Propheten; vom Weine werden sie verwirrt. Sie taumeln von dem Biere; beim Schauen wanken sie; schwanken beim Schlichten.
8Die Tische alle voller Unrat, voll Unflat bis zum letzten Platze!
9Wen kann man da Erkenntnis lehren und wem die Offenbarung deuten? Allein noch den der Milch Entwöhnten, nur den der Brust Entwachsenen!
10"Saw lasaw, saw lasaw, kaw lakaw, kaw lakaw", das heißt: "Nichts als Befehlen und nichts als Warten!" - Kurzformen hier und dort.
11Jawohl! In solch unschöner Rede, in einer fremden Sprache wird er zu diesem Volke reden,
12er, der zu ihm gesprochen hat: "Kriegsruhe ist nur dies: Den Müden gönnet Ruhe! Nur dann gibt's Friedenszeit." Sie aber wollen nimmer hören.
13An sie ergeht deshalb des Herren Wort: "Saw lasaw; saw lasaw, kaw lakaw, kaw lakaw", "Schon angeordnet! Nur warten, warten!" - Kurzformen hier und dort, - daß sie auf ihrem Wege strauchelnd rücklings fallen und sich zerschmettern und, verstrickt, gefangen werden.
14Des Spottes Männer, hört daher das Wort des Herrn, Gebieter dieses Volks, die zu Jerusalem ihr weilt!
15Zwar saget ihr: "Wir schließen mit dem Tode einen Bund und machen mit der Unterwelt Verträge. Wenn des Verderbens Flut hier einbricht, uns erreicht sie nicht. Denn Lügen machen wir zu unsrer Burg, verstecken uns in Trug."
16Dagegen spricht der Herr: "Schon gründe ich in Sion einen Stein, solch einen Stein, gar wohl erprobt, solch einen Eckstein, köstlich für die Gründung, ein fester Grund, der sich nicht ändert.
17Und ich bestimme Recht zur Meßschnur, Gerechtigkeit zur Waage. Die Lügenburg schlägt Hagel nieder, und Wasser überschwemmt den Unterschlupf."
18Und euer Bündnis mit dem Tod wird aufgehoben, und eure Übereinkunft mit der Unterwelt, sie gilt nicht mehr. Wenn des Verderbens Flut herflutet, werdet ihr davon vernichtet.
19Wenn sie herströmt, schwemmt sie euch fort, sei's morgens, dann am Morgen. Wenn sie bei Tag, bei Nacht herflutet, nur mit Schauder hört man diese Kunde. -
20Zu kurz ist dann das Bett, euch darin auszustrecken, zu schmal die Decke, euch dareinzuwickeln. -
21Wie einst am Berge Perasim, wird sich der Herr erheben. Wie in der Ebene von Gibeon, so wird er donnern, um seine Tat zu tun, sein so befremdlich Werk, um so sein Werk zu wirken, sein seltsam Unterfangen.
22Deswegen spöttelt nicht darüber. Sonst werden eure Fesseln sich verstärken. Verheerung, wenn auch kurze, vernahm ich von dem Herrn, der Heeresscharen Herrn, für dieses ganze Land.
23Horcht auf! Auf meine Stimme hört! Merkt auf! Hört meine Rede!
24Pflügt einer denn beim Saatgeschäft den ganzen Tag? Umbricht er nur und eggt sein Ackerland?
25Nicht wahr? Hat er die Fläche eingeebnet, dann streut er Dill, sät Kümmel aus, bestimmt dem Weizen und dem Dinkel, der Gerste und der Hirse sowie dem Emmer jedem seine Felder.
26So unterweist Er ihn im Rechten, sein Gott belehrt ihn so.
27Denn Dill wird nicht mit Schlitten ausgerieben; auf Kümmel dreht sich nicht das Wagenrad. Der Dill wird mit dem Stecken ausgeklopft, der Kümmel mit dem Stocke.
28Brotkorn wird ausgetreten; doch immerfort drischt man nicht bloß drauf los. Nicht immer drehen sich darauf die Wagenräder; nicht immer treten's seine Rosse aus.
29Auch dieses geht vom Herrn der Heeresscharen aus. In Plänen ist er wunderbar und groß in ihrer Ausführung.

1¡AY de la corona de soberbia, de los ebrios de Ephraim, y de la flor caduca de la hermosura de su gloria, que está sobre la cabeza del valle fértil de los aturdidos del vino!
2He aquí Jehová tiene un fuerte y poderoso: como turbión de granizo y como torbellino trastornador; como ímpetu de recias aguas que inundan, con fuerza derriba á tierra.
3Con los pies será hollada la corona de soberbia de los borrachos de Ephraim;
4Y será la flor caduca de la hermosura de su gloria que está sobre la cabeza del valle fértil, como la fruta temprana, la primera del verano, la cual, en viéndola el que la mira, se la traga tan luego como la tiene á mano.
5En aquel día Jehová de los ejércitos será por corona de gloria y diadema de hermosura á las reliquias de su pueblo;
6Y por espíritu de juicio al que se sentare en juicio, y por fortaleza á los que harán tornar la batalla hasta la puerta.
7Mas también éstos erraron con el vino, y con la sidra se entontecieron; el sacerdote y el profeta erraron con la sidra, fueron trastornados del vino, aturdiéronse con la sidra, erraron en la visión, tropezaron en el juicio.
8Porque todas las mesas están llenas de vómito y suciedad, hasta no haber lugar limpio.
9¿A quién se enseñará ciencia, ó á quién se hará entender doctrina? ¿A los quitados de la leche? ¿á los arrancados de los pechos?
10Porque mandamiento tras mandamiento, mandato sobre mandato, renglón tras renglón, línea sobre línea, un poquito allí, otro poquito allá:
11Porque en lengua de tartamudos, y en extraña lengua hablará á este pueblo,
12A los cuales él dijo: Este es el reposo: dad reposo al cansado; y éste es el refrigerio: mas no quisieron oir.
13La palabra pues de Jehová les será mandamiento tras mandamiento, mandato sobre mandato, renglón tras renglón, línea sobre línea, un poquito allí, otro poquito allá; que vayan y caigan de espaldas, y sean quebrantados, y enlazados, y presos.
14Por tanto, varones burladores, que estáis enseñoreados sobre este pueblo que está en Jerusalem, oid la palabra de Jehová.
15Porque habéis dicho: Concierto tenemos hecho con la muerte, é hicimos acuerdo con la sepultura; cuando pasare el turbión del azote, no llegará á nosotros, pues que hemos puesto nuestra acogida en la mentira, y en la falsedad nos esconderemos:
16Por tanto, el Señor Jehová dice así: He aquí que yo fundo en Sión una piedra, piedra de fortaleza, de esquina, de precio, de cimiento estable: el que creyere, no se apresure.
17Y ajustaré el juicio á cordel, y á nivel la justicia; y granizo barrerá la acogida de la mentira, y aguas arrollarán el escondrijo.
18Y será anulado vuestro concierto con la muerte, y vuestro acuerdo con el sepulcro no será firme: cuando pasare el turbión del azote, seréis de él hollados.
19Luego que comenzare á pasar, él os arrebatará; porque de mañana de mañana pasará, de día y de noche; y será que el espanto solamente haga entender lo oído.
20Porque la cama es tan angosta que no basta, y la cubierta estrecha para recoger.
21Porque Jehová se levantará como en el monte Perasim, como en el valle de Gabaón se enojará; para hacer su obra, su extraña obra, y para hacer su operación, su extraña operación.
22Ahora pues, no os burléis, porque no se aprieten más vuestras ataduras: porque consumación y acabamiento sobre toda la tierra he oído del Señor Jehová de los ejércitos.
23Estad atentos, y oid mi voz; estad atentos, y oid mi dicho.
24El que ara para sembrar, ¿arará todo el día; romperá y quebrará los terrones de la tierra?
25Después que hubiere igualado su superficie, ¿no derramará la neguilla, sembrará el comino, pondrá el trigo por su orden, y la cebada en su señal, y la avena en su término?
26Porque su Dios le instruye, y le enseña á juicio;
27Que la neguilla no se trillará con trillo, ni sobre el comino rodará rueda de carreta; sino que con un palo se sacude la neguilla, y el comino con una vara.
28El pan se trilla; mas no siempre lo trillará, ni lo comprimirá con la rueda de su carreta, ni lo quebrantará con los dientes de su trillo.
29También esto salió de Jehová de los ejércitos, para hacer maravilloso el consejo y engrandecer la sabiduría.

1Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine!
2Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand.
3The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim, shall be trodden under feet:
4And the glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley, shall be a fading flower, and as the hasty fruit before the summer; which when he that looketh upon it seeth, while it is yet in his hand he eateth it up.
5In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people,
6And for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate.
7But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.
8For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean.
9Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
10For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
11For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
12To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
13But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
14Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.
15Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:
16Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
17Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
18And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.
19From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report.
20For the bed is shorter than that a man can stretch himself on it: and the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself in it.
21For the LORD shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act.
22Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.
23Give ye ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech.
24Doth the plowman plow all day to sow? doth he open and break the clods of his ground?
25When he hath made plain the face thereof, doth he not cast abroad the fitches, and scatter the cummin, and cast in the principal wheat and the appointed barley and the rie in their place?
26For his God doth instruct him to discretion, and doth teach him.
27For the fitches are not threshed with a threshing instrument, neither is a cart wheel turned about upon the cummin; but the fitches are beaten out with a staff, and the cummin with a rod.
28Bread corn is bruised; because he will not ever be threshing it, nor break it with the wheel of his cart, nor bruise it with his horsemen.
29This also cometh forth from the LORD of hosts, which is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in working.
World English Bible
1Woe to the crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim, and to the fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fertile valley of those who are overcome with wine!
2Behold, the Lord has one who is mighty and strong. Like a storm of hail, a destroying storm, and like a storm of mighty waters overflowing, he will cast them down to the earth with his hand.
3The crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim will be trodden under foot.
4The fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fertile valley, shall be like the first-ripe fig before the summer, which someone picks and eats as soon as he sees it.
5In that day, the LORD of Armies will become a crown of glory and a diadem of beauty to the residue of his people,
6and a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, and strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.
7They also reel with wine, and stagger with strong drink. The priest and the prophet reel with strong drink. They are swallowed up by wine. They stagger with strong drink. They err in vision. They stumble in judgment.
8For all tables are completely full of filthy vomit and filthiness.
9Whom will he teach knowledge? To whom will he explain the message? Those who are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts?
10For it is precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little.
11But he will speak to this nation with stammering lips and in another language,
12to whom he said, “This is the resting place. Give rest to the weary,” and “This is the refreshing;” yet they would not hear.
13Therefore the LORD’s word will be to them precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little; that they may go, fall backward, be broken, be snared, and be taken.
14Therefore hear the LORD’s word, you scoffers, that rule this people in Jerusalem:
15“Because you have said, ‘We have made a covenant with death, and we are in agreement with Sheol. When the overflowing scourge passes through, it won’t come to us; for we have made lies our refuge, and we have hidden ourselves under falsehood.’”
16Therefore the Lord GOD says, “Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone of a sure foundation. He who believes shall not act hastily.
17I will make justice the measuring line, and righteousness the plumb line. The hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters will overflow the hiding place.
18Your covenant with death shall be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol shall not stand. When the overflowing scourge passes through, then you will be trampled down by it.
19As often as it passes through, it will seize you; for morning by morning it will pass through, by day and by night; and it will be nothing but terror to understand the message.”
20For the bed is too short to stretch out on, and the blanket is too narrow to wrap oneself in.
21For the LORD will rise up as on Mount Perazim. He will be angry as in the valley of Gibeon; that he may do his work, his unusual work, and bring to pass his act, his extraordinary act.
22Now therefore don’t be scoffers, lest your bonds be made strong; for I have heard a decree of destruction from the Lord, GOD of Armies, on the whole earth.
23Give ear, and hear my voice! Listen, and hear my speech!
24Does he who plows to sow plow continually? Does he keep turning the soil and breaking the clods?
25When he has leveled its surface, doesn’t he plant the dill, and scatter the cumin seed, and put in the wheat in rows, the barley in the appointed place, and the spelt in its place?
26For his God instructs him in right judgment and teaches him.
27For the dill isn’t threshed with a sharp instrument, neither is a cart wheel turned over the cumin; but the dill is beaten out with a stick, and the cumin with a rod.
28Bread flour must be ground; so he will not always be threshing it. Although he drives the wheel of his threshing cart over it, his horses don’t grind it.
29This also comes out from the LORD of Armies, who is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in wisdom.
