1Vision du désert. Comme une tempête venant de la terre passe de désert en désert, ainsi terrible
2Et épouvantable une vision m'a été révélée : Le prévaricateur marche à ses prévarications, l'homme inique à ses iniquités. Sur moi viennent les Élamites, sur moi les anciens des Perses. Maintenant je gémirai et je me consolerai moi - même.
3Voilà pourquoi mes reins ont défailli, et des douleurs comme celles de l'enfantement m'ont saisi. Ce que j'entends me fait mal, et je fais tout pour ne pas voir.
4Mon cœur s'égare, l'iniquité m'inonde, mon âme succombe dans la terreur.
5Dressez la table, mangez, buvez. Levez-vous, princes, préparez vos boucliers ;
6Car voici ce que m'a dit le Seigneur : Va, place-toi en sentinelle, et ce que tu verras, publie-le.
7Et je vis deux cavaliers : un cavalier monté sur un âne, un autre sur un chameau. Écoute avec une grande attention,
8Et appelle Urie au lieu d'observation. Ainsi dit le Seigneur. Et moi je me tins debout tout le jour, et je surveillai le camp toute la nuit.
9Et voilà que vint à moi un homme sur un char à deux chevaux. Et, répondant à ma demande, il dit : Elle est tombée, elle est tombée, Babylone ; et toutes ses statues et toutes les œuvres de ses mains sont brisées contre terre.
10Écoutez, ô vous qui êtes délaissés ; et vous qui pleurez, écoutez ce que j'ai appris du Seigneur Dieu des armées, ce que m'a annoncé le Dieu d'Israël.
11On me crie de Séir : Gardez les créneaux !
12Je les garde dès le matin et durant la nuit. Si tu cherches un secours, cherche-le bien, et demeure près de moi.
13Tu dormiras le soir dans la forêt sur le chemin de Daidan.
14Portez de l'eau à la rencontre de l'homme qui a soif ; et vous qui habitez la terre de Théman, portez des pains au-devant de ceux qui fuient ;
15Multitude d'hommes massacrés, multitude d'égarés, multitude de glaives et d'arcs tendus, multitude de guerriers tombés dans le combat.
16Car voici ce que m'a dit le Seigneur : Encore une année, une année de mercenaire, et la gloire des fils de Cédar sera effacée,
17Et il ne restera qu'un petit nombre des vaillants archers de Cédar. Ainsi dit le Seigneur, Dieu d'Israël.

2Visión dura me ha sido mostrada. El prevaricador prevarica, y el destructor destruye. Sube, Persa; cerca, Medo. Todo su gemido hice cesar.
3Por tanto mis lomos se han llenado de dolor; angustias se apoderaron de mí, como angustias de mujer de parto: agobiéme oyendo, y al ver heme espantado.
4Pasmóse mi corazón, el horror me ha intimidado; la noche de mi deseo se me tornó en espanto.
5Pon la mesa, mira del atalaya, come, bebe: levantaos, príncipes, ungid el escudo.
6Porque el Señor me dijo así: Ve, pon centinela que haga saber lo que viere.
7Y vió un carro de un par de caballeros, un carro de asno, y un carro de camello. Luego miró muy más atentamente.
8Y gritó como un león: Señor, sobre la atalaya estoy yo continuamente de día, y las noches enteras sobre mi guarda:
9Y he aquí este carro de hombres viene, un par de caballeros. Después habló, y dijo: Cayó, cayó Babilonia; y todos los ídolos de sus dioses quebrantó en tierra.
10Trilla mía, y paja de mi era: os he dicho lo que oí de Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel.
11Carga de Duma. Danme voces de Seir: Guarda, ¿qué de la noche? Guarda, ¿qué de la noche?
12El guarda respondió: La mañana viene, y después la noche: si preguntareis, preguntad; volved, venid.
13Carga sobre Arabia. En el monte tendréis la noche en Arabia, oh caminantes de Dedanim.
14Salid á encontrar al sediento; llevadle aguas, moradores de tierra de Tema, socorred con su pan al que huye.
15Porque de la presencia de las espadas huyen, de la presencia de la espada desnuda, de la presencia del arco entesado, de la presencia del peso de la batalla.
16Porque así me ha dicho Jehová: De aquí á un año, semejante á años de mozo de soldada, toda la gloria de Cedar será deshecha;
17Y las reliquias del número de los valientes flecheros, hijos de Cedar, serán apocadas: porque Jehová Dios de Israel lo ha dicho.

1The burden of the desert of the sea. As whirlwinds in the south pass through; so it cometh from the desert, from a terrible land.
2A grievous vision is declared unto me; the treacherous dealer dealeth treacherously, and the spoiler spoileth. Go up, O Elam: besiege, O Media; all the sighing thereof have I made to cease.
3Therefore are my loins filled with pain: pangs have taken hold upon me, as the pangs of a woman that travaileth: I was bowed down at the hearing of it; I was dismayed at the seeing of it.
4My heart panted, fearfulness affrighted me: the night of my pleasure hath he turned into fear unto me.
5Prepare the table, watch in the watchtower, eat, drink: arise, ye princes, and anoint the shield.
6For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth.
7And he saw a chariot with a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses, and a chariot of camels; and he hearkened diligently with much heed:
8And he cried, A lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights:
9And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground.
10O my threshing, and the corn of my floor: that which I have heard of the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared unto you.
11The burden of Dumah. He calleth to me out of Seir, Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?
12The watchman said, The morning cometh, and also the night: if ye will enquire, enquire ye: return, come.
13The burden upon Arabia. In the forest in Arabia shall ye lodge, O ye travelling companies of Dedanim.
14The inhabitants of the land of Tema brought water to him that was thirsty, they prevented with their bread him that fled.
15For they fled from the swords, from the drawn sword, and from the bent bow, and from the grievousness of war.
16For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of an hireling, and all the glory of Kedar shall fail:
17And the residue of the number of archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, shall be diminished: for the LORD God of Israel hath spoken it.

1The burden of the wilderness of the sea. As whirlwinds in the South sweep through, it comes from the wilderness, from an awesome land.
2A grievous vision is declared to me. The treacherous man deals treacherously, and the destroyer destroys. Go up, Elam; attack! I have stopped all of Media’s sighing.
3Therefore my thighs are filled with anguish. Pains have seized me, like the pains of a woman in labor. I am in so much pain that I can’t hear. I am so dismayed that I can’t see.
4My heart flutters. Horror has frightened me. The twilight that I desired has been turned into trembling for me.
5They prepare the table. They set the watch. They eat. They drink. Rise up, you princes, oil the shield!
6For the Lord said to me, “Go, set a watchman. Let him declare what he sees.
7When he sees a troop, horsemen in pairs, a troop of donkeys, a troop of camels, he shall listen diligently with great attentiveness.”
8He cried like a lion: “Lord, I stand continually on the watchtower in the daytime, and every night I stay at my post.
9Behold, here comes a troop of men, horsemen in pairs.” He answered, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon; and all the engraved images of her gods are broken to the ground.
10You are my threshing, and the grain of my floor!” That which I have heard from the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, I have declared to you.
11The burden of Dumah. One calls to me out of Seir, “Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?”
12The watchman said, “The morning comes, and also the night. If you will inquire, inquire. Come back again.”
13The burden on Arabia. You will lodge in the thickets in Arabia, you caravans of Dedanites.
14They brought water to him who was thirsty. The inhabitants of the land of Tema met the fugitives with their bread.
15For they fled away from the swords, from the drawn sword, from the bent bow, and from the heat of battle.
16For the Lord said to me, “Within a year, as a worker bound by contract would count it, all the glory of Kedar will fail,
17and the residue of the number of the archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, will be few; for the LORD, the God of Israel, has spoken it.”
