1In dem Jahre, in welchem Tartan, als ihn Sargon, der König von Assyrien, gesandt hatte, nach Asdod kam und diese Stadt belagerte und eroberte –
2in jener Zeit hatte der HERR durch Jesaja, den Sohn des Amoz, folgende Weisung ausgesprochen: »Wohlan, lege das härene Gewand von deinen Hüften ab und binde dir die Sandalen von deinen Füßen ab!« Da tat er demgemäß, so daß er ohne Obergewand und barfuß einherging.
3Darauf sagte der HERR: »Gleichwie mein Knecht Jesaja ohne Obergewand und barfuß drei Jahre lang einhergegangen ist als ein Wahrzeichen und eine Vorbedeutung für Ägypten und Äthiopien,
4so wird der König von Assyrien die gefangenen Ägypter und die zur Wegführung bestimmten Äthiopier, Jünglinge und Greise, ohne Obergewand und barfuß und mit nacktem Gesäß – eine Schmach für Ägypten – dahinwandern lassen.«
5Da wird man denn (in Juda) bestürzt und enttäuscht sein wegen Äthiopiens, auf das man zuversichtlich gehofft, und wegen Ägyptens, mit dem man geprahlt hatte;
6und die Bewohner dieses Küstenlandes werden zu jener Zeit sagen: »Ach, wenn es denen so ergangen ist, auf die wir zuversichtlich gehofft und zu denen wir unsere Zuflucht genommen hatten, um uns vor dem Könige von Assyrien zu retten: wie sollten wir da entrinnen?«

1EN el año que vino Thartán á Asdod, cuando le envió Sargón rey de Asiria, y peleó contra Asdod y la tomó;
2En aquel tiempo habló Jehová por Isaías hijo de Amoz, diciendo: Ve, y quita el saco de tus lomos, y descalza los zapatos de tus pies. E hízolo así, andando desnudo y descalzo.
3Y dijo Jehová: De la manera que anduvo mi siervo Isaías desnudo y descalzo tres años, señal y pronóstico sobre Egipto y sobre Etiopía;
4Así llevará el rey de Asiria la cautividad de Egipto y la transmigración de Etiopía, de mozos y de viejos, desnuda y descalza, y descubiertas las nalgas para vergüenza de Egipto.
5Y se turbarán y avergonzarán de Etiopía su esperanza, y de Egipto su gloria.
6Y dirá en aquel día el morador de esta isla: Mirad qué tal fué nuestra esperanza, donde nos acogimos por socorro para ser libres de la presencia del rey de Asiria: ¿y cómo escaparemos?

1In the year that Tartan came unto Ashdod, (when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him,) and fought against Ashdod, and took it;
2At the same time spake the LORD by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and put off thy shoe from thy foot. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.
3And the LORD said, Like as my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years for a sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia;
4So shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Ethiopians captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, even with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.
5And they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.
6And the inhabitant of this isle shall say in that day, Behold, such is our expectation, whither we flee for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria: and how shall we escape?

1In the year that Tartan came to Ashdod, when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him, and he fought against Ashdod and took it;
2at that time the LORD spoke by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, “Go, and loosen the sackcloth from off your waist, and take your sandals from off your feet.” He did so, walking naked and barefoot.
3The LORD said, “As my servant Isaiah has walked naked and barefoot three years for a sign and a wonder concerning Egypt and concerning Ethiopia,
4so the king of Assyria will lead away the captives of Egypt and the exiles of Ethiopia, young and old, naked and barefoot, and with buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.
5They will be dismayed and confounded, because of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.
6The inhabitants of this coast land will say in that day, ‘Behold, this is our expectation, where we fled for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria. And we, how will we escape?’”
