1Oracle sur l'Égypte. Voici que le Seigneur s'est assis sur une nuée légère, et il arrivera en Égypte, et les idoles de l'Égypte seront ébranlées devant sa face, et elle faiblira au fond de son cœur.
2Et les Égyptiens s'élèveront contre les Égyptiens, et le frère combattra le frère, ami contre ami, ville contre ville, nom contre nom.
3Et l'esprit des Égyptiens sera troublé en eux-mêmes, et je dissiperai leurs conseils ; et ils interrogeront leurs dieux, et leurs statues, et ceux qui font sortir leurs voix de la terre, et les magiciens.
4Et je livrerai l'Égypte aux mains de maîtres cruels, et des rois cruels y règneront : voilà ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu des armées.
5Et les Égyptiens boiront de l'eau près de la mer ; car leur fleuve tarira, et il sera desséché.
6Et les fleuves tariront et les canaux du fleuve ; et tout amas d'eau sera desséché, et tous les marais où croissent le roseau et le papyrus ;
7Et le gazon verdoyant au bord du fleuve ; et tout ce qui est semé le long du fleuve sera flétri et desséché par le vent.
8Et les pêcheurs gémiront ; et ils gémiront tous ceux qui jettent l'hameçon dans le fleuve ; et ceux qui jettent des seines et des filets pleureront.
9Et ceux qui travaillent le lin et le byssus, ou qui font des robes, seront confondus.
10Et tous les artisans seront dans la douleur, et ceux Qui font la bière seront attristés, et ils souffriront en leur âme
11Et les princes de Tanis, sages conseillers du roi, deviendront fous ; leur conseil sera folie. Comment pourrez-vous dire au roi : Nous sommes les fils des sages, les fils des anciens rois ?
12Où sont maintenant tes sages ? Qu'ils prophétisent, et qu'ils disent : Qu'a résolu contre l'Égypte le Seigneur Dieu des armées ?
13Les princes de Tanis ont défailli ; ceux de Memphis se sont enorgueillis, et ils ont égaré l'Égypte en toutes ses tribus.
14Car le Seigneur a répandu sur eux un esprit d'erreur, et ils ont égaré l'Égypte en toutes ses œuvres, et ils l'ont fait marcher comme un homme ivre qui vomit.
15Et les Égyptiens ne feront plus rien qui ait une tête et une queue, un commencement et une fin.
16Et, en ce jour, les Égyptiens seront comme des femmes effrayées et tremblantes sous la main du Seigneur des armées, qu'il fera tomber sur eux.
17Et la terre de la Judée sera pour les Égyptiens un objet de terreur ; et quiconque prononcera son nom devant eux les frappera de crainte, à cause des desseins que le Seigneur des armées a formés sur eux-mêmes.
18Ce jour-là, il y aura cinq villes d'Égypte qui parleront la langue de Chanaan, et jureront par le Seigneur Dieu des armées. L'une de ces villes s'appellera Asédec.
19Ce jour-là, il y aura sur le territoire d'Égypte un autel du Seigneur, et à sa frontière une colonne élevée au Seigneur.
20Et ce sera un signe éternel au Seigneur en la terre d'Égypte. Dès lors ils crieront au Seigneur dans leurs tribulations, et il leur enverra un homme pour les sauver ; et il les sauvera en les jugeant.
21Et le Seigneur sera connu des Égyptiens. Et les Égyptiens en ce jour connaîtront le Seigneur, et ils lui sacrifieront des victimes, et ils lui feront des vœux, et ils les accompliront.
22Et le Seigneur frappera d'une plaie les Égyptiens, puis il la guérira ; et ils se convertiront au Seigneur, et il les exaucera, et il leur enverra une entière guérison.
23En ce jour, il y aura une voie de l'Égypte à l'Assyrie ; et les Assyriens entreront en Égypte ; et les Égyptiens iront en Assyrie, et ils seront asservis aux Assyriens.
24En ce jour, Israël sera la troisième avec les Égyptiens et les Assyriens, et il sera béni sur la terre
25Que le Seigneur des armées a bénie, disant : Béni soit mon peuple qui est en Égypte et qui est en Assyrie ; et béni soit Israël mon héritage !

1CARGA de Egipto. He aquí que Jehová monta sobre una ligera nube, y entrará en Egipto; y los ídolos de Egipto se moverán delante de él, y desleiráse el corazón de los Egipcios en medio de ellos.
2Y revolveré Egipcios contra Egipcios, y cada uno peleará contra su hermano, cada uno contra su prójimo: ciudad contra ciudad, y reino contra reino.
3Y el espíritu de Egipto se desvanecerá en medio de él, y destruiré su consejo; y preguntarán á sus imágenes, á sus mágicos, á sus pythones y á sus adivinos.
4Y entregaré á Egipto en manos de señor duro; y rey violento se enseñoreará de ellos, dice el Señor Jehová de los ejércitos.
5Y las aguas de la mar faltarán, y el río se agotará y secará.
6Y alejaránse los ríos, se agotarán y secarán las corrientes de los fosos: la caña y el carrizo serán cortados.
7Las verduras de junto al río, de junto á la ribera del río, y toda sementera del río, se secarán, se perderán, y no serán.
8Los pescadores también se entristecerán; y harán duelo todos los que echan anzuelo en el río, y desfallecerán los que extienden red sobre las aguas.
9Los que labran lino fino, y los que tejen redes, serán confundidos;
10Porque todas sus redes serán rotas: y se entristecerán todos los que hacen viveros para peces.
11Ciertamente son necios los príncipes de Zoán; el consejo de los prudentes consejeros de Faraón, se ha desvanecido. ¿Cómo diréis á Faraón: Yo soy hijo de los sabios, é hijo de los reyes antiguos?
12¿Dónde están ahora aquellos tus prudentes? Dígante ahora, ó hágante saber qué es lo que Jehová de los ejércitos ha determinado sobre Egipto.
13Hanse desvanecido los príncipes de Zoán, se han engañado los príncipes de Noph: engañaron á Egipto las esquinas de sus familias.
14Jehová mezcló espíritu de vahido en medio de él; é hicieron errar á Egipto en toda su obra, como desatina el borracho en su vómito.
15Y no aprovechará á Egipto cosa que haga la cabeza ó la cola, el ramo ó el junco.
16En aquel día serán los Egipcios como mujeres; porque se asombrarán y temerán, en la presencia de la mano alta de Jehová de los ejércitos, que él ha de levantar sobre ellos.
17Y la tierra de Judá será de espanto á Egipto; todo hombre que de ella se acordare se asombrará, por causa del consejo que Jehová de los ejércitos acordó sobre aquél.
18En aquel tiempo habrá cinco ciudades en la tierra de Egipto que hablen la lengua de Canaán, y que juren por Jehová de los ejércitos: una será llamada la ciudad Herez.
19En aquel tiempo habrá altar para Jehová en medio de la tierra de Egipto, y el trofeo de Jehová junto á su término.
20Y será por señal y por testimonio á Jehová de los ejércitos en la tierra de Egipto: porque á Jehová clamarán á causa de sus opresores, y él les enviará salvador y príncipe que los libre.
21Y Jehová será conocido de Egipto, y los de Egipto conocerán á Jehová en aquel día; y harán sacrificio y oblación; y harán votos á Jehová, y los cumplirán.
22Y herirá Jehová á Egipto, herirá y sanará; y se convertirán á Jehová, y les será clemente, y los sanará.
23En aquel tiempo habrá una calzada de Egipto á Asiria, y Asirios entrarán en Egipto, y Egipcios en Asiria; y los Egipcios servirán con los Asirios á Jehová.
24En aquel tiempo, Israel será tercero con Egipto y con Asiria; será bendición en medio de la tierra;
25Porque Jehová de los ejércitos los bendecirá, diciendo: Bendito el pueblo mío Egipto, y el Asirio obra de mis manos, é Israel mi heredad.

1The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.
2And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.
3And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.
4And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts.
5And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up.
6And they shall turn the rivers far away; and the brooks of defence shall be emptied and dried up: the reeds and flags shall wither.
7The paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks, and every thing sown by the brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no more.
8The fishers also shall mourn, and all they that cast angle into the brooks shall lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall languish.
9Moreover they that work in fine flax, and they that weave networks, shall be confounded.
10And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluices and ponds for fish.
11Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellors of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say ye unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?
12Where are they? where are thy wise men? and let them tell thee now, and let them know what the LORD of hosts hath purposed upon Egypt.
13The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even they that are the stay of the tribes thereof.
14The LORD hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.
15Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do.
16In that day shall Egypt be like unto women: and it shall be afraid and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which he shaketh over it.
17And the land of Judah shall be a terror unto Egypt, every one that maketh mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he hath determined against it.
18In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction.
19In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the LORD.
20And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the LORD because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them.
21And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea, they shall vow a vow unto the LORD, and perform it.
22And the LORD shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal it: and they shall return even to the LORD, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them.
23In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.
24In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land:
25Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.

1The burden of Egypt. “Behold, the LORD rides on a swift cloud, and comes to Egypt. The idols of Egypt will tremble at his presence; and the heart of Egypt will melt within it.
2I will stir up the Egyptians against the Egyptians, and they will fight everyone against his brother, and everyone against his neighbor; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.
3The spirit of the Egyptians will fail within them. I will destroy their counsel. They will seek the idols, the charmers, those who have familiar spirits, and the wizards.
4I will give over the Egyptians into the hand of a cruel lord. A fierce king will rule over them,” says the Lord, GOD of Armies.
5The waters will fail from the sea, and the river will be wasted and become dry.
6The rivers will become foul. The streams of Egypt will be diminished and dried up. The reeds and flags will wither away.
7The meadows by the Nile, by the brink of the Nile, and all the sown fields of the Nile, will become dry, be driven away, and be no more.
8The fishermen will lament, and all those who fish in the Nile will mourn, and those who spread nets on the waters will languish.
9Moreover those who work in combed flax, and those who weave white cloth, will be confounded.
10The pillars will be broken in pieces. All those who work for hire will be grieved in soul.
11The princes of Zoan are utterly foolish. The counsel of the wisest counselors of Pharaoh has become stupid. How do you say to Pharaoh, “I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings”?
12Where then are your wise men? Let them tell you now; and let them know what the LORD of Armies has purposed concerning Egypt.
13The princes of Zoan have become fools. The princes of Memphis are deceived. They have caused Egypt to go astray, those who are the cornerstone of her tribes.
14The LORD has mixed a spirit of perverseness in the middle of her; and they have caused Egypt to go astray in all of its works, like a drunken man staggers in his vomit.
15Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which head or tail, palm branch or rush, may do.
16In that day the Egyptians will be like women. They will tremble and fear because of the shaking of the LORD of Armies’s hand, which he shakes over them.
17The land of Judah will become a terror to Egypt. Everyone to whom mention is made of it will be afraid, because of the plans of the LORD of Armies, which he determines against it.
18In that day, there will be five cities in the land of Egypt that speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of Armies. One will be called “The city of destruction.”
19In that day, there will be an altar to the LORD in the middle of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the LORD at its border.
20It will be for a sign and for a witness to the LORD of Armies in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the LORD because of oppressors, and he will send them a savior and a defender, and he will deliver them.
21The LORD will be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the LORD in that day. Yes, they will worship with sacrifice and offering, and will vow a vow to the LORD, and will perform it.
22The LORD will strike Egypt, striking and healing. They will return to the LORD, and he will be entreated by them, and will heal them.
23In that day there will be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria; and the Egyptians will worship with the Assyrians.
24In that day, Israel will be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, a blessing within the earth;
25because the LORD of Armies has blessed them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel my inheritance.”
