1AUSSPRUCH über Babel, ein Gesicht Jesajas, des Sohnes des Amoz.
2Auf kahlem Berge pflanzet ein Panier auf, laut rufet ihnen zu! Winket mit der Hand, dass sie durch die Tore der hohen Herren einziehen!
3Ich selbst habe zum Zorngericht entboten meine Geweihten, ich habe auch berufen meine Helden, meine stolz Frohlockenden.
4Horch! ein Getöse im Gebirge wie von vielem Kriegsvolk! Horch! ein Getümmel von Königreichen, von versammelten Völkern! Der Herr der Heerscharen mustert das Kriegsheer.
5Sie kommen aus fernem Lande, vom Ende des Himmels, der Herr und die Werkzeuge seines Zorns, die ganze Erde zu verderben.
6Heulet! denn der Tag des Herrn ist nahe; wie Gewalt vom Allgewaltigen kommt er. (a) Joe 1:15
7Darum werden alle Hände schlaff, und jedes Menschenherz verzagt,
8und sie werden bestürzt. Krämpfe und Wehen befallen sie; sie winden sich wie eine Gebärende. Einer starrt den andern an; wie Flammen glüht ihr Gesicht. (a) Jes 26:17
9Siehe, der Tag des Herrn kommt grausam, mit Grimm und glühendem Zorn, die Erde zur Wüste zu machen und ihre Sünder von ihr wegzutilgen.
10Denn die Sterne des Himmels und seine Orione lassen ihr Licht nicht strahlen; die Sonne ist finster bei ihrem Aufgang, und der Mond lässt sein Licht nicht scheinen. (a) Hes 32:7; Joe 3:15; Mt 24:29
11"Ich will die Bosheit an der Welt heimsuchen und an den Gottlosen ihre Verschuldung. Ich will ein Ende machen dem Hochmut der Stolzen und den Übermut der Tyrannen erniedrigen.
12Ich will die Menschen seltener machen als Feingold, die Sterblichen seltener als Golderz von Ophir."
13Darum wird der Himmel erbeben, und die Erde wird aufschrecken von ihrer Stätte bei dem Grimm des Herrn der Heerscharen und am Tage seines glühenden Zorns.
14Und wie aufgescheuchte Gazellen und wie Schafe, die keiner sammelt, wird ein jeder sich zu seinem Volke wenden und ein jeder in sein Land fliehen. (a) Jer 50:16
15Wer gefunden wird, wird durchbohrt, und jeder, der ergriffen wird, fällt durch das Schwert.
16Ihre Kinder werden vor ihren Augen zerschmettert, ihre Häuser geplündert und ihre Frauen geschändet. (a) Na 3:10
17"Siehe, ich hetze wider sie die Meder, die des Silbers nicht achten und am Golde kein Gefallen haben.
18Und Bogen werden Jünglinge zerschmettern. Der Frucht des Leibes werden sie sich nicht erbarmen, und der Kinder werden sie nicht schonen."
19So wird es Babel, der Zier der Königreiche und der stolzen Pracht der Chaldäer, ergehen wie Sodom und Gomorrha, als Gott sie zerstörte. (a) 1Mo 19:24
20Ewig unbesiedelt soll sie bleiben und unbewohnt von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht, und es wird daselbst der Beduine nicht zelten, und die Hirten werden dort nicht lagern lassen; (a) Jer 50:39
21sondern Wüstentiere werden daselbst lagern, und ihre Häuser werden voller Eulen sein. Strausse werden daselbst wohnen und Feldteufel daselbst tanzen,
22Wildhunde heulen in ihren Palästen und Schakale in den Schlössern der Lust. Nahe rückt ihre Zeit, und ihre Tage verziehen nicht. (a) Jes 34:13 14

1CARGA de Babilonia, que vió Isaías, hijo de Amoz.
2Levantad bandera sobre un alto monte; alzad la voz á ellos, alzad la mano, para que entren por puertas de príncipes.
3Yo mandé á mis santificados, asimismo llamé á mis valientes para mi ira, á los que se alegran con mi gloria.
4Murmullo de multitud en los montes, como de mucho pueblo; murmullo de ruido de reinos, de gentes reunidas: Jehová de los ejércitos ordena las tropas de la batalla.
5Vienen de lejana tierra, de lo postrero de los cielos, Jehová y los instrumentos de su furor, para destruir toda la tierra.
6Aullad, porque cerca está el día de Jehová; vendrá como asolamiento del Todopoderoso.
7Por tanto, se enervarán todas la manos, y desleiráse todo corazón de hombre:
8Y se llenarán de terror; angustias y dolores los comprenderán; tendrán dolores como mujer de parto; pasmaráse cada cual al mirar á su compañero; sus rostros, rostros de llamas.
9He aquí el día de Jehová viene, crudo, y de saña y ardor de ira, para tornar la tierra en soledad, y raer de ella sus pecadores.
10Por lo cual las estrellas de los cielos y sus luceros no derramarán su lumbre; y el sol se oscurecerá en naciendo, y la luna no echará su resplandor.
11Y visitaré la maldad sobre el mundo, y sobre los impíos su iniquidad; y haré que cese la arrogancia de los soberbios, y abatiré la altivez de los fuertes.
12Haré más precioso que el oro fino al varón, y más que el oro de Ophir al hombre.
13Porque haré estremecer los cielos, y la tierra se moverá de su lugar, en la indignación de Jehová de los ejércitos, y en el día de la ira de su furor.
14Y será que como corza amontada, y como oveja sin pastor, cada cual mirará hacia su pueblo, y cada uno huirá á su tierra.
15Cualquiera que fuere hallado, será alanceado; y cualquiera que á ellos se juntare, caerá á cuchillo.
16Sus niños serán estrellados delante de ellos; sus casas serán saqueadas, y forzadas sus mujeres.
17He aquí que yo despierto contra ellos á los Medos, que no curarán de la plata, ni codiciarán oro.
18Y con arcos tirarán á los niños, y no tendrán misericordia de fruto de vientre, ni su ojo perdonará á hijos.
19Y Babilonia, hermosura de reinos y ornamento de la grandeza de los Caldeos, será como Sodoma y Gomorra, á las que trastornó Dios.
20Nunca más será habitada, ni se morará en ella de generación en generación; ni hincará allí tienda el Arabe, ni pastores tendrán allí majada:
21Sino que dormirán allí bestias fieras, y sus casas se llenarán de hurones, allí habitarán hijas del buho, y allí saltarán peludos.
22Y en sus palacios gritarán gatos cervales, y chacales en sus casas de deleite: y abocado está á venir su tiempo, y sus días no se alargarán.

1The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see.
2Lift ye up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.
3I have commanded my sanctified ones, I have also called my mighty ones for mine anger, even them that rejoice in my highness.
4The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the LORD of hosts mustereth the host of the battle.
5They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the LORD, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.
6Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.
7Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man’s heart shall melt:
8And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames.
9Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
10For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.
11And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
12I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.
13Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.
14And it shall be as the chased roe, and as a sheep that no man taketh up: they shall every man turn to his own people, and flee every one into his own land.
15Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword.
16Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished.
17Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.
18Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eye shall not spare children.
19And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees’ excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.
20It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.
21But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.
22And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.

1The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz saw.
2Set up a banner on the bare mountain! Lift up your voice to them! Wave your hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.
3I have commanded my consecrated ones; yes, I have called my mighty men for my anger, even my proudly exulting ones.
4The noise of a multitude is in the mountains, as of a great people; the noise of an uproar of the kingdoms of the nations gathered together! The LORD of Armies is mustering the army for the battle.
5They come from a far country, from the uttermost part of heaven, even the LORD, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.
6Wail, for the LORD’s day is at hand! It will come as destruction from the Almighty.
7Therefore all hands will be feeble, and everyone’s heart will melt.
8They will be dismayed. Pangs and sorrows will seize them. They will be in pain like a woman in labor. They will look in amazement one at another. Their faces will be faces of flame.
9Behold, the day of the LORD comes, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger; to make the land a desolation, and to destroy its sinners out of it.
10For the stars of the sky and its constellations will not give their light. The sun will be darkened in its going out, and the moon will not cause its light to shine.
11I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity. I will cause the arrogance of the proud to cease, and will humble the arrogance of the terrible.
12I will make people more rare than fine gold, even a person than the pure gold of Ophir.
13Therefore I will make the heavens tremble, and the earth will be shaken out of its place in the LORD of Armies’ wrath, and in the day of his fierce anger.
14It will happen that like a hunted gazelle and like sheep that no one gathers, they will each turn to their own people, and will each flee to their own land.
15Everyone who is found will be thrust through. Everyone who is captured will fall by the sword.
16Their infants also will be dashed in pieces before their eyes. Their houses will be ransacked, and their wives raped.
17Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, who will not value silver, and as for gold, they will not delight in it.
18Their bows will dash the young men in pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb. Their eyes will not spare children.
19Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldeans’ pride, will be like when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.
20It will never be inhabited, neither will it be lived in from generation to generation. The Arabian will not pitch a tent there, neither will shepherds make their flocks lie down there.
21But wild animals of the desert will lie there, and their houses will be full of jackals. Ostriches will dwell there, and wild goats will frolic there.
22Hyenas will cry in their fortresses, and jackals in the pleasant palaces. Her time is near to come, and her days will not be prolonged.
