1Setze die Posaune an deinen Mund! Einem Geier gleich kommt einer über das Haus Jahwes! Denn sie haben meine Gebote übertreten und gegen meine Weisung sich empört.
2Dabei schreien sie zu mir: Mein Gott! Wir Israeliten kennen dich ja!
3Die Israeliten haben das Heil verschmäht - darum sollen die Feinde sie jagen!
4Sie allein haben Könige gemacht, die doch nicht von mir berufen wurden, haben sich Häupter erwählt, ohne daß ich darum wußte. Aus ihrem Silber und Gold haben sie sich Götzenbilder gemacht, bloß zu dem Zwecke, daß sie zu Grunde gehen.
5Dein Stierdienst, Samarien, stinkt zum Himmel; mein Zorn ist gegen sie entbrannt. Wie lange wird es ihnen unmöglich sein, Schuldlosigkeit zu erringen!
6Denn aus Israel stammt er; ein Künstler hat ihn angefertigt, aber Gott ist er nicht. Vielmehr, in Stücke soll er gehen, der Stier Samariens!
7Denn Wind säen sie und Sturm werden sie ernten. Da giebt es keine Halme; das Aufgesproßte giebt kein Mehl, und sollte es welches geben, so würden es die Ausländer verschlingen.
8Verschlungen wird Israel selbst! Schon steht es unter den Völkern da wie wertloses Gerät!
9Denn damit, daß sie sich nach Assyrien wandten, wie ein Wildesel, der für sich läuft, haben die Ephraimiten mit Geld um Buhlschaft geworben.
10Aber mögen sie auch mit Geld und Buhlschaft unter den Völkern werben, ich will sie nun in die Enge treiben, daß sie gar bald unter dem Tribut an den Großkönig sich winden wollen.
11Ja, Ephraim hat zahlreiche Altäre gebaut - zur Sünde sind ihm die Altäre ausgeschlagen!
12Mag ich ihm auch meine Weisungen in Mengen aufzeichnen, so werden sie wie die eines Fremden angesehen.
13Schlachtopfer schlachten sie und essen Fleisch - Jahwe hat an ihnen kein Wohlgefallen. So kommt ihm denn ihre Verkehrtheit nicht aus dem Sinn, und ihre Sünden wird er heimsuchen. Gerade diese Leute sollen wieder nach Ägypten zurück müssen und sich in Assyrien von unreinen Speisen nähren.
14Weil sich Israel seinen Schöpfer aus dem Sinne schlug und sich Paläste baute, und weil sich Juda viele feste Städte anlegte, will ich Feuer wider seine Städte entsenden, das soll ihre Burgen verzehren.

1PON á tu boca trompeta. Vendrá como águila contra la casa de Jehová, porque traspasaron mi pacto, y se rebelaron contra mi ley.
2A mí clamará Israel: Dios mío, te hemos conocido.
3Israel desamparó el bien: enemigo lo perseguirá.
4Ellos hicieron reyes, mas no por mí; constituyeron príncipes, mas yo no lo supe: de su plata y de su oro hicieron ídolos para sí, para ser talados.
5Tu becerro, oh Samaria, te hizo alejar; encendióse mi enojo contra ellos, hasta que no pudieron alcanzar inocencia.
6Porque de Israel es, y artífice lo hizo; que no es Dios: por lo que en pedazos será deshecho el becerro de Samaria.
7Porque sembraron viento, y torbellino segarán: no tendrán mies, ni el fruto hará harina; si la hiciere, extraños la tragarán.
8Será tragado Israel: presto serán entre las gentes como vaso en que no hay contentamiento.
9Porque ellos subieron á Assur, asno montés para sí solo: Ephraim con salario alquiló amantes.
10Aunque alquilen á las gentes, ahora las juntaré; y serán un poco afligidos por la carga del rey y de los príncipes.
11Porque multiplicó Ephraim altares para pecar, tuvo altares para pecar.
12Escribíle las grandezas de mi ley, y fueron tenidas por cosas ajenas.
13En los sacrificios de mis dones sacrificaron carne, y comieron: no los quiso Jehová: ahora se acordará de su iniquidad, y visitará su pecado; ellos se tornarán á Egipto.
14Olvidó pues Israel á su Hacedor, y edificó templos, y Judá multiplicó ciudades fuertes: mas yo meteré fuego en sus ciudades, el cual devorará sus palacios.

1Set the trumpet to thy mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the house of the LORD, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.
2Israel shall cry unto me, My God, we know thee.
3Israel hath cast off the thing that is good: the enemy shall pursue him.
4They have set up kings, but not by me: they have made princes, and I knew it not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.
5Thy calf, O Samaria, hath cast thee off; mine anger is kindled against them: how long will it be ere they attain to innocency?
6For from Israel was it also: the workman made it; therefore it is not God: but the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.
7For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk: the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.
8Israel is swallowed up: now shall they be among the Gentiles as a vessel wherein is no pleasure.
9For they are gone up to Assyria, a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath hired lovers.
10Yea, though they have hired among the nations, now will I gather them, and they shall sorrow a little for the burden of the king of princes.
11Because Ephraim hath made many altars to sin, altars shall be unto him to sin.
12I have written to him the great things of my law, but they were counted as a strange thing.
13They sacrifice flesh for the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat it; but the LORD accepteth them not; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.
14For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.

1“Put the trumpet to your lips! Something like an eagle is over the LORD’s house, because they have broken my covenant and rebelled against my law.
2They cry to me, ‘My God, we, Israel, acknowledge you!’
3Israel has cast off that which is good. The enemy will pursue him.
4They have set up kings, but not by me. They have made princes, and I didn’t approve. Of their silver and their gold they have made themselves idols, that they may be cut off.
5Let Samaria throw out his calf idol! My anger burns against them! How long will it be until they are capable of purity?
6For this is even from Israel! The workman made it, and it is no God; indeed, the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.
7For they sow the wind, and they will reap the whirlwind. He has no standing grain. The stalk will yield no head. If it does yield, strangers will swallow it up.
8Israel is swallowed up. Now they are among the nations like a worthless thing.
9For they have gone up to Assyria, like a wild donkey wandering alone. Ephraim has hired lovers for himself.
10But although they sold themselves among the nations, I will now gather them; and they begin to waste away because of the oppression of the king of mighty ones.
11Because Ephraim has multiplied altars for sinning, they became for him altars for sinning.
12I wrote for him the many things of my law, but they were regarded as a strange thing.
13As for the sacrifices of my offerings, they sacrifice meat and eat it, but the LORD doesn’t accept them. Now he will remember their iniquity, and punish their sins. They will return to Egypt.
14For Israel has forgotten his Maker and built palaces; and Judah has multiplied fortified cities; but I will send a fire on his cities, and it will devour its fortresses.”
