Nova Bíblia Viva
1Agora vou subir à minha torre de vigia e esperar para ver que resposta o Senhor vai dar à minha queixa.
2E o Senhor me disse: “Escreva a minha resposta em tábuas, em letras bem grandes, para que qualquer pessoa possa ler a mensagem facilmente e saia correndo para contar a outros!
3Essas coisas que planejei, porém, não acontecerão imediatamente. Devagar, mas com determinação, certamente vai se aproximando o tempo em que a visão será cumprida. Se aparentemente está demorando muito, não se desespere, porque tudo vai acontecer mesmo! Seja paciente! O cumprimento dessa promessa certamente ocorrerá e não se atrasará!
4“Anote isto: Os homens perversos confiam em si mesmos, seus desejos não são bons e acabam fracassando. O justo, porém, confia em mim e viverá!
5Além do mais, como a riqueza é ilusória, o ímpio é arrogante, cheio de ambição. Ele é voraz, mas como a sepultura e a morte, ele nunca se satisfaz. Apanha para si todas as nações e ajunta para si todos os povos.
6“Logo vai chegar o dia em que os seus escravos zombarão deles, dizendo: ‘Ladrões! Finalmente a justiça acertou as contas com vocês! Agora vocês vão ter o que merecem pela violência e pela exploração que praticaram!’
7De repente os credores surgirão, furiosos, e carregarão consigo tudo o que eles têm, enquanto vocês assistem a tudo, indefesos e tremendo de medo!
8Vocês saquearam muitas nações. Agora, elas vão saquear vocês! Vocês derramaram muito sangue e semearam a violência entre os moradores dos campos e das cidades.
9“Ai de vocês, que ficaram ricos praticando a maldade, tentando com a riqueza escapar do perigo.
10Com os crimes que cometeram, vocês apenas envergonharam suas próprias casas e condenaram sua vida.
11As próprias pedras nas paredes das casas gritarão, condenando-os, e as vigas do telhado farão eco.
12“Ai de vocês, que constroem cidades com o dinheiro ganho em assassinatos e roubos!
13O Senhor dos Exércitos já decretou que as riquezas das nações sem ele se transformarão em cinzas nas suas mãos! Elas se esforçam desesperadamente, mas em vão!
14Vai chegar o dia em que toda a terra ficará cheia do conhecimento da glória do Senhor, tal como as águas enchem o mar.
15“Ai de vocês, que fizeram seus vizinhos cambalear e se arrastar como bêbados, fazendo-os sofrer com sua violência e rindo quando eles ficavam nus e envergonhados!
16Logo a sua própria glória será transformada em vergonha. A taça da mão direita do Senhor é dada a vocês. Tropecem e caiam!
17Vocês derrubaram as florestas do Líbano e agora serão derrubados! Vocês aterrorizaram os animais selvagens que apanharam em suas armadilhas e agora o terror vai cair sobre vocês por causa de toda a violência e derramamento de sangue que cometeram contra os moradores das cidades em toda parte.
18“Qual foi o proveito de adorar ídolos feitos por homens? Que mentira estúpida dizer que eles poderiam ajudar! Como vocês foram tolos em confiar em ídolos que não são capazes de falar!
19Ai daqueles que ordenam a seus ídolos de madeira, sem vida, que os salvem! Ai dos que gritam à pedra muda, pedindo que ela lhes diga o que fazer! Quando é que imagens poderiam falar em lugar de Deus? Elas são cobertas de ouro e prata, mas dentro delas não há o menor sinal de vida!
20Mas o Senhor está em seu santo templo. Todos os habitantes da terra devem se calar diante dele”.

1SOBRE mi guarda estaré, y sobre la fortaleza afirmaré el pie, y atalayaré para ver qué hablará en mí, y qué tengo de responder á mi pregunta.
2Y Jehová me respondió, y dijo: Escribe la visión, y declárala en tablas, para que corra el que leyere en ella.
3Aunque la visión tardará aún por tiempo, mas al fin hablará, y no mentirá: aunque se tardare, espéralo, que sin duda vendrá; no tardará.
4He aquí se enorgullece aquel cuya alma no es derecha en él: mas el justo en su fe vivirá.
5Y también, por cuanto peca por el vino, es un hombre soberbio, y no permanecerá: que ensanchó como el infierno su alma, y es como la muerte, que no se hartará: antes reunió á sí todas las gentes, y amontonó á sí todos los pueblos.
6¿No han de levantar todos estos sobre él parábola, y sarcasmos contra él? Y dirán: ¡Ay del que multiplicó lo que no era suyo! ¿Y hasta cuándo había de amontonar sobre sí espeso lodo?
7¿No se levantarán de repente los que te han de morder, y se despertarán los que te han de quitar de tu lugar, y serás á ellos por rapiña?
8Porque tú has despojado muchas gentes, todos los otros pueblos te despojarán; á causa de las sangres humanas, y robos de la tierra, de las ciudades y de todos los que moraban en ellas.
9¡Ay del que codicia maligna codicia para su casa, por poner en alto su nido, por escaparse del poder del mal!
10Tomaste consejo vergonzoso para tu casa, asolaste muchos pueblos, y has pecado contra tu vida.
11Porque la piedra clamará desde el muro, y la tabla del enmaderado le responderá.
12¡Ay del que edifica la ciudad con sangres, y del que funda la villa con iniquidad!
13¿No es esto de Jehová de los ejércitos? Los pueblos pues trabajarán para el fuego, y las gentes se fatigarán en vano.
14Porque la tierra será llena de conocimiento de la gloria de Jehová, como las aguas cubren la mar.
15¡Ay del que da de beber á sus compañeros, que les acercas tu hiel y embriagas, para mirar sus desnudeces!
16Haste llenado de deshonra más que de honra: bebe tú también, y serás descubierto; el cáliz de la mano derecha de Jehová volverá sobre ti, y vómito de afrenta sobre tu gloria.
17Porque la rapiña del Líbano caerá sobre ti, y la destrucción de las fieras lo quebrantará; á causa de las sangres humanas, y del robo de la tierra, de las ciudades, y de todos los que en ellas moraban.
18¿De qué sirve la escultura que esculpió el que la hizo? ¿la estatua de fundición, que enseña mentira, para que haciendo imágenes mudas confíe el hacedor en su obra?
19¡Ay del que dice al palo: Despiértate; y á la piedra muda: Levántate! ¿Podrá él enseñar? He aquí él está cubierto de oro y plata, y no hay dentro de él espíritu.
20Mas Jehová está en su santo templo: calle delante de él toda la tierra.

1I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
2And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
3For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
4Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
5Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a proud man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all people:
6Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, Woe to him that increaseth that which is not his! how long? and to him that ladeth himself with thick clay!
7Shall they not rise up suddenly that shall bite thee, and awake that shall vex thee, and thou shalt be for booties unto them?
8Because thou hast spoiled many nations, all the remnant of the people shall spoil thee; because of men’s blood, and for the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein.
9Woe to him that coveteth an evil covetousness to his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of evil!
10Thou hast consulted shame to thy house by cutting off many people, and hast sinned against thy soul.
11For the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it.
12Woe to him that buildeth a town with blood, and stablisheth a city by iniquity!
13Behold, is it not of the LORD of hosts that the people shall labour in the very fire, and the people shall weary themselves for very vanity?
14For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
15Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest look on their nakedness!
16Thou art filled with shame for glory: drink thou also, and let thy foreskin be uncovered: the cup of the LORD’s right hand shall be turned unto thee, and shameful spewing shall be on thy glory.
17For the violence of Lebanon shall cover thee, and the spoil of beasts, which made them afraid, because of men’s blood, and for the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein.
18What profiteth the graven image that the maker thereof hath graven it; the molten image, and a teacher of lies, that the maker of his work trusteth therein, to make dumb idols?
19Woe unto him that saith to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it is laid over with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it.
20But the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.

1I will stand at my watch and set myself on the ramparts, and will look out to see what he will say to me, and what I will answer concerning my complaint.
2The LORD answered me, “Write the vision, and make it plain on tablets, that he who runs may read it.
3For the vision is yet for the appointed time, and it hurries toward the end, and won’t prove false. Though it takes time, wait for it, because it will surely come. It won’t delay.
4Behold, his soul is puffed up. It is not upright in him, but the righteous will live by his faith.
5Yes, moreover, wine is treacherous: an arrogant man who doesn’t stay at home, who enlarges his desire as Sheol; he is like death and can’t be satisfied, but gathers to himself all nations and heaps to himself all peoples.
6Won’t all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, ‘Woe to him who increases that which is not his, and who enriches himself by extortion! How long?’
7Won’t your debtors rise up suddenly, and wake up those who make you tremble, and you will be their victim?
8Because you have plundered many nations, all the remnant of the peoples will plunder you because of men’s blood, and for the violence done to the land, to the city and to all who dwell in it.
9Woe to him who gets an evil gain for his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the hand of evil!
10You have devised shame to your house by cutting off many peoples, and have sinned against your soul.
11For the stone will cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the woodwork will answer it.
12Woe to him who builds a town with blood, and establishes a city by iniquity!
13Behold, isn’t it from the LORD of Armies that the peoples labor for the fire, and the nations weary themselves for vanity?
14For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the LORD’s glory, as the waters cover the sea.
15“Woe to him who gives his neighbor drink, pouring your inflaming wine until they are drunk, so that you may gaze at their naked bodies!
16You are filled with shame, and not glory. You will also drink and be exposed! The cup of the LORD’s right hand will come around to you, and disgrace will cover your glory.
17For the violence done to Lebanon will overwhelm you, and the destruction of the animals will terrify you, because of men’s blood and for the violence done to the land, to every city and to those who dwell in them.
18“What value does the engraved image have, that its maker has engraved it; the molten image, even the teacher of lies, that he who fashions its form trusts in it, to make mute idols?
19Woe to him who says to the wood, ‘Awake!’ or to the mute stone, ‘Arise!’ Shall this teach? Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all within it.
20But the LORD is in his holy temple. Let all the earth be silent before him!”
