Habacuc 1
Nova Bíblia Viva
1Esta é a mensagem que veio ao profeta Habacuque, numa visão que ele recebeu de Deus:
2Ó Senhor, quanto tempo ainda vou ter de pedir ajuda antes que o Senhor me ouça? Eu grito ao Senhor, mas é em vão. Não recebo resposta. “Socorro! Violência!” é o meu grito, mas ninguém aparece para socorrer!
3Por que o Senhor me faz ver a injustiça e contemplar toda essa maldade? Para qualquer lugar que eu olhe, existe violência e destruição. Há luta e briga por todo lado.
4A lei não é cumprida, nem nos tribunais se faz justiça, pois os perversos são muito mais numerosos que os justos e com isto a justiça é torcida.
5O Senhor respondeu: “Prestem atenção e ficarão de boca aberta! Vocês ficarão espantados com o que eu vou fazer muito em breve! Ainda enquanto estiverem vivos, eu farei uma coisa que vocês terão de ver para crer.
6Eu estou preparando os caldeus, uma nação cruel e violenta que marchará por toda a terra para apoderar-se de moradias que não são suas.
7É uma nação apavorante e temível. Fazem o que bem entendem, criando as suas próprias leis e ordens.
8Seus cavalos são mais velozes que os leopardos, mais ferozes que os lobos quando anoitece. As suas tropas de cavalaria marcham orgulhosamente, vindas de uma terra distante. Caem de repente sobre suas vítimas, como fazem as águias quando estão caçando.
9Quando eles surgem para atacar, todos ficam tão apavorados que não é possível organizar a reação. Fazem tantos prisioneiros que é impossível contar!
10Zombam de reis, de príncipes e das fortalezas de seus inimigos. Constroem rampas de terra contra os muros das fortalezas e as conquistam.
11Atacam e se retiram com a rapidez do vento. Mas a sua culpa é grande, pois têm como deus a sua própria força”.
12Ó Senhor, meu Deus, meu Santo, o Senhor é eterno. Será que o seu plano em tudo isso é nos destruir? É claro que não! Ó Deus, nossa Rocha, o Senhor resolveu dar poder aos caldeus para nos castigar e corrigir por causa de nossos pecados.
13Nós somos perversos, mas eles são piores que nós! Será que o Senhor, que não tolera o pecado de maneira alguma, vai ficar assistindo calmamente enquanto eles nos devoram? O Senhor poderia ficar quieto enquanto os perversos destroem os que são mais justos do que eles?
14O Senhor tornou os homens como peixes do mar ou como um enxame de insetos que não têm um líder para liderá-los?
15Será que acabaremos fisgados pelos anzóis e apanhados pelas redes dos inimigos, enquanto eles festejam?
16Então eles adorarão seus equipamentos de guerra e queimarão incenso a eles! E dirão: “Estes são os deuses que nos deram toda essa riqueza!”
17O Senhor vai permitir que eles façam isso para sempre? Será que sempre sairão vitoriosos em suas guerras tão cruéis?

1LA carga que vió Habacuc profeta.
2¿Hasta cuándo, oh Jehová, clamaré, y no oirás; y daré voces á ti á causa de la violencia, y no salvarás?
3¿Por qué me haces ver iniquidad, y haces que mire molestia, y saco y violencia delante de mí, habiendo además quien levante pleito y contienda?
4Por lo cual la ley es debilitada, y el juicio no sale verdadero: por cuanto el impío asedia al justo, por eso sale torcido el juicio.
5Mirad en las gentes, y ved, y maravillaos pasmosamente; porque obra será hecha en vuestros días, que aun cuando se os contare, no la creeréis.
6Porque he aquí, yo levanto los Caldeos, gente amarga y presurosa, que camina por la anchura de la tierra para poseer las habitaciones ajenas.
7Espantosa es y terrible: de ella misma saldrá su derecho y su grandeza.
8Y serán sus caballos más ligeros que tigres, y más agudos que lobos de tarde; y sus jinetes se multiplicarán: vendrán de lejos sus caballeros, y volarán como águilas que se apresuran á la comida.
9Toda ella vendrá á la presa: delante de sus caras viento solano; y juntará cautivos como arena.
10Y escarnecerá de los reyes, y de los príncipes hará burla: reiráse de toda fortaleza, y amontonará polvo, y la tomará.
11Luego mudará espíritu, y pasará adelante, y ofenderá atribuyendo esta su potencia á su dios.
12¿No eres tú desde el principio, oh Jehová, Dios mío, Santo mío? No moriremos. Oh Jehová, para juicio lo pusiste; y tú, oh Roca, lo fundaste para castigar.
13Muy limpio eres de ojos para ver el mal, ni puedes ver el agravio: ¿por qué ves los menospreciadores, y callas cuando destruye el impío al más justo que él,
14Y haces que sean los hombres como los peces de la mar, como reptiles que no tienen señor?
15Sacará á todos con anzuelo, cogerálos con su red, y juntarálos en su aljerife: por lo cual se holgará y hará alegrías.
16Por esto hará sacrificios á su red, y ofrecerá sahumerios á su aljerife: porque con ellos engordó su porción, y engrasó su comida.
17¿Vaciará por eso su red, ó tendrá piedad de matar gentes continuamente?

1The burden which Habakkuk the prophet did see.
2O LORD, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! even cry out unto thee of violence, and thou wilt not save!
3Why dost thou shew me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance? for spoiling and violence are before me: and there are that raise up strife and contention.
4Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceedeth.
5Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you.
6For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces that are not theirs.
7They are terrible and dreadful: their judgment and their dignity shall proceed of themselves.
8Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves: and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to eat.
9They shall come all for violence: their faces shall sup up as the east wind, and they shall gather the captivity as the sand.
10And they shall scoff at the kings, and the princes shall be a scorn unto them: they shall deride every strong hold; for they shall heap dust, and take it.
11Then shall his mind change, and he shall pass over, and offend, imputing this his power unto his god.
12Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.
13Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?
14And makest men as the fishes of the sea, as the creeping things, that have no ruler over them?
15They take up all of them with the angle, they catch them in their net, and gather them in their drag: therefore they rejoice and are glad.
16Therefore they sacrifice unto their net, and burn incense unto their drag; because by them their portion is fat, and their meat plenteous.
17Shall they therefore empty their net, and not spare continually to slay the nations?

1The revelation which Habakkuk the prophet saw.
2LORD, how long will I cry, and you will not hear? I cry out to you “Violence!” and will you not save?
3Why do you show me iniquity, and look at perversity? For destruction and violence are before me. There is strife, and contention rises up.
4Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never prevails; for the wicked surround the righteous; therefore justice comes out perverted.
5“Look among the nations, watch, and wonder marvelously; for I am working a work in your days which you will not believe though it is told you.
6For, behold, I am raising up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation who march through the width of the earth, to possess dwelling places that are not theirs.
7They are feared and dreaded. Their judgment and their dignity proceed from themselves.
8Their horses also are swifter than leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves. Their horsemen press proudly on. Yes, their horsemen come from afar. They fly as an eagle that hurries to devour.
9All of them come for violence. Their hordes face forward. They gather prisoners like sand.
10Yes, they scoff at kings, and princes are a derision to them. They laugh at every stronghold, for they build up an earthen ramp and take it.
11Then they sweep by like the wind and go on. They are indeed guilty, whose strength is their god.”
12Aren’t you from everlasting, LORD my God, my Holy One? We will not die. LORD, you have appointed them for judgment. You, Rock, have established him to punish.
13You who have purer eyes than to see evil, and who cannot look on perversity, why do you tolerate those who deal treacherously and keep silent when the wicked swallows up the man who is more righteous than he,
14and make men like the fish of the sea, like the creeping things that have no ruler over them?
15He takes up all of them with the hook. He catches them in his net and gathers them in his dragnet. Therefore he rejoices and is glad.
16Therefore he sacrifices to his net and burns incense to his dragnet, because by them his life is luxurious and his food is good.
17Will he therefore continually empty his net, and kill the nations without mercy?
