Joseph acquit tout le sol de l'Égypte au profit de Pharaon, les Égyptiens ayant vendu chacun leurs champs, contraints qu'ils étaient par la famine: ainsi la contrée appartint à Pharaon.

Entonces compró José toda la tierra de Egipto para Faraón; pues los Egipcios vendieron cada uno sus tierras, porque se agravó el hambre sobre ellos: y la tierra vino á ser de Faraón.

And Joseph bought all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh; for the Egyptians sold every man his field, because the famine prevailed over them: so the land became Pharaoh’s.
