1Und die Schlange war listiger als alle Tiere des Feldes, die Gott der HERR gemacht hatte; und sie sprach zu der Frau: Hat Gott wirklich gesagt: Ihr sollt nicht essen von jedem Baum des Gartens?
2Und die Frau sprach zu der Schlange: Von der Frucht der Bäume des Gartens essen wir;
3aber von der Frucht des Baumes, der in der Mitte des Gartens ist, hat Gott gesagt: Davon sollt ihr nicht essen und sie nicht anrühren, damit ihr nicht sterbt.
4Und die Schlange sprach zu der Frau: Keineswegs werdet ihr sterben,
5sondern Gott weiß, dass an dem Tag, da ihr davon esst, eure Augen aufgetan werden und ihr sein werdet wie Gott, erkennend Gutes und Böses.
6Und die Frau sah, dass der Baum gut zur Speise und dass er eine Lust für die Augen und dass der Baum begehrenswert wäre, um Einsicht zu geben; und sie nahm von seiner Frucht und aß, und sie gab auch ihrem Mann mit ihr, und er aß.
7Da wurden ihrer beider Augen aufgetan, und sie erkannten, dass sie nackt waren; und sie hefteten Feigenblätter zusammen und machten sich Schürzen.
8Und sie hörten die Stimme Gottes des HERRN, der im Garten wandelte bei der Kühle des Tages. Und der Mensch und seine Frau versteckten sich vor dem Angesicht Gottes des HERRN mitten unter die Bäume des Gartens.
9Und Gott der HERR rief den Menschen und sprach zu ihm: Wo bist du?
10Und er sprach: Ich hörte deine Stimme im Garten, und ich fürchtete mich, denn ich bin nackt, und ich versteckte mich.
11Und er sprach: Wer hat dir mitgeteilt, dass du nackt bist? Hast du gegessen von dem Baum, von dem ich dir geboten habe, nicht davon zu essen?
12Und der Mensch sprach: Die Frau, die du mir beigegeben hast, sie gab mir von dem Baum, und ich aß.
13Und Gott der HERR sprach zu der Frau: Was hast du da getan! Und die Frau sprach: Die Schlange betrog mich, und ich aß.
14Und Gott der HERR sprach zu der Schlange: Weil du dieses getan hast, sollst du verflucht sein vor allem Vieh und vor allen Tieren des Feldes! Auf deinem Bauch sollst du kriechen und Staub fressen alle Tage deines Lebens.
15Und ich werde Feindschaft setzen zwischen dir und der Frau und zwischen deinen Nachkommen und ihren Nachkommen; er wird dir den Kopf zermalmen, und du, du wirst ihm die Ferse zermalmen.
16Zu der Frau sprach er: Ich werde sehr vermehren die Mühsal deiner Schwangerschaft, mit Schmerzen sollst du Kinder gebären; und nach deinem Mann wird dein Verlangen sein, er aber wird über dich herrschen.
17Und zu Adam sprach er: Weil du auf die Stimme deiner Frau gehört und gegessen hast von dem Baum, von dem ich dir geboten und gesprochen habe: Du sollst nicht davon essen, – so sei der Erdboden verflucht um deinetwillen: mit Mühsal sollst du davon essen alle Tage deines Lebens;
18und Dornen und Disteln wird er dir sprossen lassen, und du wirst das Kraut des Feldes essen.
19Im Schweiß deines Angesichts wirst du dein Brot essen, bis du zurückkehrst zur Erde, denn von ihr bist du genommen. Denn Staub bist du, und zum Staub wirst du zurückkehren!
20Und der Mensch gab seiner Frau den Namen Eva, denn sie war die Mutter aller Lebendigen.
21Und Gott der HERR machte Adam und seiner Frau Röcke von Fell und bekleidete sie.
22Und Gott der HERR sprach: Siehe, der Mensch ist geworden wie einer von uns, zu erkennen Gutes und Böses; und nun, dass er seine Hand nicht ausstrecke und nehme auch von dem Baum des Lebens und esse und lebe ewiglich!
23Und Gott der HERR schickte ihn aus dem Garten Eden hinaus, um den Erdboden zu bebauen, wovon er genommen war;
24und er trieb den Menschen aus und ließ im Osten vom Garten Eden die Cherubim und die Flamme des kreisenden Schwertes lagern, um den Weg zum Baum des Lebens zu bewahren.

1EMPERO la serpiente era astuta, más que todos los animales del campo que Jehová Dios había hecho; la cual dijo á la mujer: ¿Conque Dios os ha dicho: No comáis de todo árbol del huerto?
2Y la mujer respondió á la serpiente: Del fruto de los árboles del huerto comemos;
3Mas del fruto del árbol que está en medio del huerto dijo Dios: No comeréis de él, ni le tocaréis, porque no muráis.
4Entonces la serpiente dijo á la mujer: No moriréis;
5Mas sabe Dios que el día que comiereis de él, serán abiertos vuestros ojos, y seréis como dioses sabiendo el bien y el mal.
6Y vió la mujer que el árbol era bueno para comer, y que era agradable á los ojos, y árbol codiciable para alcanzar la sabiduría; y tomó de su fruto, y comió; y dió también á su marido, el cual comió así como ella.
7Y fueron abiertos los ojos de entrambos, y conocieron que estaban desnudos: entonces cosieron hojas de higuera, y se hicieron delantales.
8Y oyeron la voz de Jehová Dios que se paseaba en el huerto al aire del día: y escondióse el hombre y su mujer de la presencia de Jehová Dios entre los árboles del huerto.
9Y llamó Jehová Dios al hombre, y le dijo: ¿Dónde estás tú?
10Y él respondió: Oí tu voz en el huerto, y tuve miedo, porque estaba desnudo; y escondíme.
11Y díjole: ¿Quién te enseñó que estabas desnudo? ¿Has comido del árbol de que yo te mandé no comieses?
12Y el hombre respondió: La mujer que me diste por compañera me dió del árbol, y yo comí.
13Entonces Jehová Dios dijo á la mujer: ¿Qué es lo que has hecho? Y dijo la mujer: La serpiente me engañó, y comí.
14Y Jehová Dios dijo á la serpiente: Por cuanto esto hiciste, maldita serás entre todas las bestias y entre todos los animales del campo; sobre tu pecho andarás, y polvo comerás todos los días de tu vida:
15Y enemistad pondré entre ti y la mujer, y entre tu simiente y la simiente suya; ésta te herirá en la cabeza, y tú le herirás en el calcañar.
16A la mujer dijo: Multiplicaré en gran manera tus dolores y tus preñeces; con dolor parirás los hijos; y á tu marido será tu deseo, y él se enseñoreará de ti.
17Y al hombre dijo: Por cuanto obedeciste á la voz de tu mujer, y comiste del árbol de que te mandé diciendo, No comerás de él; maldita será la tierra por amor de ti; con dolor comerás de ella todos los días de tu vida;
18Espinos y cardos te producirá, y comerás hierba del campo;
19En el sudor de tu rostro comerás el pan hasta que vuelvas á la tierra; porque de ella fuiste tomado: pues polvo eres, y al polvo serás tornado.
20Y llamó el hombre el nombre de su mujer, Eva; por cuanto ella era madre de todos los vivientes.
21Y Jehová Dios hizo al hombre y á su mujer túnicas de pieles, y vistiólos.
22Y dijo Jehová Dios: He aquí el hombre es como uno de Nos sabiendo el bien y el mal: ahora, pues, porque no alargue su mano, y tome también del árbol de la vida, y coma, y viva para siempre:
23Y sacólo Jehová del huerto de Edén, para que labrase la tierra de que fué tomado.
24Echó, pues, fuera al hombre, y puso al oriente del huerto de Edén querubines, y una espada encendida que se revolvía á todos lados, para guardar el camino del árbol de la vida.

1Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
6And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
7And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
8And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
9And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
10And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
11And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
12And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.
13And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
14And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
15And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
16Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
17And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
18Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
19In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
20And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.
21Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
22And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
23Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
24So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
World English Bible
1Now the serpent was more subtle than any animal of the field which the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, “Has God really said, ‘You shall not eat of any tree of the garden’?”
2The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees of the garden,
3but not the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden. God has said, ‘You shall not eat of it. You shall not touch it, lest you die.’”
4The serpent said to the woman, “You won’t really die,
5for God knows that in the day you eat it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
6When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took some of its fruit, and ate. Then she gave some to her husband with her, and he ate it, too.
7Their eyes were opened, and they both knew that they were naked. They sewed fig leaves together, and made coverings for themselves.
8They heard the LORD God’s voice walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.
9The LORD God called to the man, and said to him, “Where are you?”
10The man said, “I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; so I hid myself.”
11God said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”
12The man said, “The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”
13The LORD God said to the woman, “What have you done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
14The LORD God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, you are cursed above all livestock, and above every animal of the field. You shall go on your belly and you shall eat dust all the days of your life.
15I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will bruise your head, and you will bruise his heel.”
16To the woman he said, “I will greatly multiply your pain in childbirth. You will bear children in pain. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.”
17To Adam he said, “Because you have listened to your wife’s voice, and have eaten from the tree, about which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it,’ the ground is cursed for your sake. You will eat from it with much labor all the days of your life.
18It will yield thorns and thistles to you; and you will eat the herb of the field.
19You will eat bread by the sweat of your face until you return to the ground, for you were taken out of it. For you are dust, and you shall return to dust.”
20The man called his wife Eve because she would be the mother of all the living.
21The LORD God made garments of animal skins for Adam and for his wife, and clothed them.
22The LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand, and also take of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever—”
23Therefore the LORD God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken.
24So he drove out the man; and he placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.
