Y LLEVADO José á Egipto, comprólo Potiphar, eunuco de Faraón, capitán de los de la guardia, varón Egipcio, de mano de los Ismaelitas que lo habían llevado allá.
And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down thither.

And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.

Y aconteció que, desde cuando le dió el encargo de su casa, y de todo lo que tenía, Jehová bendijo la casa del Egipcio á causa de José; y la bendición de Jehová fué sobre todo lo que tenía, así en casa como en el campo.
And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field.

Darum liefi er alles unter Josephs Handen, was er hatte; und er nahm sich keines Dinges an, weil er ihn hatte, denn daß er ali und trank. Und Joseph war schdn und hubsch von Angesicht.
Y dejó todo lo que tenía en mano de José; ni con él sabía de nada más que del pan que comía. Y era José de hermoso semblante y bella presencia.
And he left all that he had in Joseph’s hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured.

And it came to pass after these things, that his master’s wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.

Er weigerte sich's aber und sprach zu ihr: Siehe, mein Herr nimmt sich nichts an vor mir, was im Hause ist; und alles, was er hat, das hat er unter meine Hande getan;

But he refused, and said unto his master’s wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand;

und hat nichts so grofi in dem Hause, das ervor mirverhohlen habe, ohne dich, indem du sein Weib bist. Wie sollt ich denn nun ein solch groli Obel tun und wider Gott sundigen?
No hay otro mayor que yo en esta casa, y ninguna cosa me ha reservado sino á ti, por cuanto tú eres su mujer; ¿cómo, pues, haría yo este grande mal, y pecaría contra Dios?
There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?

Und sie trieb solche Worte gegen Joseph taglich. Aber er gehorchte ihr nicht, daß er nahe bei ihr schlief noch um sie ware.
Y fué que hablando ella á José cada día, y no escuchándola él para acostarse al lado de ella, para estar con ella,
And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her.

Es begab sich der Tage einen, daß Joseph in das Haus ging, sein Geschaft zu tun, und war kein Mensch vom Gesinde des Hauses dabei.
Aconteció que entró él un día en casa para hacer su oficio, y no había nadie de los de casa allí en casa:
And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within.

Und sie erwischte ihn bei seinem Kleid und sprach: Schlafe bei mir! Aber er lieli das Kleid in ihrer Hand und floh und lief zum Hause hinaus.
Y asiólo ella por su ropa, diciendo: Duerme conmigo. Entonces dejóla él su ropa en las manos, y huyó, y salióse fuera.
And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.

Y acaeció que cuando vió ella que le había dejado su ropa en sus manos, y había huído fuera,

rief sie dem Gesinde im Hause und sprach zu ihnen: Sehet, er hat uns den ebraischen Mann hereingebracht, daß er uns zuschanden mache. Er kam zu mir herein und wollte bei mir schlafen; ich rief aber mit lauterßtimme.
Llamó á los de casa, y hablóles diciendo: Mirad, nos ha traído un Hebreo, para que hiciese burla de nosotros: vino él á mí para dormir conmigo, y yo dí grandes voces;
That she called unto the men of her house, and spake unto them, saying, See, he hath brought in an Hebrew unto us to mock us; he came in unto me to lie with me, and I cried with a loud voice:

Und da erhorete, daß ich ein Geschrei machte und rief, da lieli er sein Kleid bei mir und floh und lief hinaus.
Y viendo que yo alzaba la voz y gritaba, dejó junto á mí su ropa, y huyó, y salióse fuera.
And it came to pass, when he heard that I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled, and got him out.

And she spake unto him according to these words, saying, The Hebrew servant, which thou hast brought unto us, came in unto me to mock me:

Da ich aber ein Geschrei machte und rief, da lieli er sein Kleid bei mir und floh hinaus.
Y como yo alcé mi voz y grité, él dejó su ropa junto á mí, y huyó fuera.
And it came to pass, as I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled out.

Als sein Herr horete die Rede seines Weibes, die sie ihm sagte und sprach: Also hat mir dein Knecht getan, ward er sehr zornig.
Y sucedió que como oyó su señor las palabras que su mujer le hablara, diciendo: Así me ha tratado tu siervo; encendióse su furor.
And it came to pass, when his master heard the words of his wife, which she spake unto him, saying, After this manner did thy servant to me; that his wrath was kindled.
