Ele se apaixonou por Diná, a filha de Jacó, e falou ternamente a ela.

And his soul clave unto Dinah the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the damsel, and spake kindly unto the damsel.

Siquém disse a seu pai Hamor: "Consegue-me esta mulher para que seja minha esposa".

And Shechem spake unto his father Hamor, saying, Get me this damsel to wife.

Jacó ouviu que ele corrompeu a Diná, sua filha. Seus filhos estavam no campo com os rebanhos; Jacó calou-se até eles voltarem.
Y oyó Jacob que había Sichêm amancillado á Dina su hija: y estando sus hijos con su ganado en el campo, calló Jacob hasta que ellos viniesen.
And Jacob heard that he had defiled Dinah his daughter: now his sons were with his cattle in the field: and Jacob held his peace until they were come.

Os filhos de Jacó voltaram do campo e ouviram sobre o ocorrido. Eles ficaram furiosos, estavam indignados porque ele havia desgraçado Israel, violentando a filha de Jacó, algo que não deveria ter sido feito.

Hamor falou-lhes, dizendo: "Meu filho Siquém ama vossa filha. Por favor, entregai-a a ele para que seja sua esposa.

And Hamor communed with them, saying, The soul of my son Shechem longeth for your daughter: I pray you give her him to wife.

Fazei aliança conosco, dai-nos vossas filhas e tomai nossas filhas para vós.

Siquém disse ao pai e aos irmãos de Diná: "Deixai-me encontrar favor aos vossos olhos e o que me pedirem eu vos darei.
Sichêm también dijo á su padre y á sus hermanos: Halle yo gracia en vuestros ojos, y daré lo que me dijereis.
And Shechem said unto her father and unto her brethren, Let me find grace in your eyes, and what ye shall say unto me I will give.
Shechem said to her father and to her brothers, “Let me find favor in your eyes, and whatever you will tell me I will give.
Pedi-me o que vós quereis pela noiva e eu vos darei o que me pedirem, mas dai-me a mulher para que seja minha esposa.
Aumentad á cargo mío mucho dote y dones, que yo daré cuanto me dijereis, y dadme la moza por mujer.
Ask me never so much dowry and gift, and I will give according as ye shall say unto me: but give me the damsel to wife.

Os filhos de Jacó responderam a Siquém e Hamor, seu pai, com falsidade, devido ao que Siquém havia feito com Diná, irmã deles.
Y respondieron los hijos de Jacob á Sichêm y á Hamor su padre con engaño; y parlaron, por cuanto había amancillado á Dina su hermana.
And the sons of Jacob answered Shechem and Hamor his father deceitfully, and said, because he had defiled Dinah their sister:

Eles disseram: "Nós não podemos fazer isso: dar nossa irmã a qualquer um que esteja incircunciso, isso seria uma desgraça para nós.
Y dijéronles: No podemos hacer esto de dar nuestra hermana á hombre que tiene prepucio; porque entre nosotros es abominación.
And they said unto them, We cannot do this thing, to give our sister to one that is uncircumcised; for that were a reproach unto us:
and said to them, “We can’t do this thing, to give our sister to one who is uncircumcised; for that is a reproach to us.
A única condição para aceitarmos é que vos circuncideis como nós, e que cada homem do vosso povo seja circuncidado.
Mas con esta condición os haremos placer: si habéis de ser como nosotros, que se circuncide entre vosotros todo varón;
But in this will we consent unto you: If ye will be as we be, that every male of you be circumcised;

Então, nós vos daremos as nossas filhas e tomaremos as vossas filhas para nós, assim, viveremos convosco e nos tornaremos um só povo.

Essas palavras agradaram a Hamor e a seu filho Siquém.

And their words pleased Hamor, and Shechem Hamor’s son.

O jovem não tardou em fazer o que eles disseram porque ele gostava da filha de Jacó e porque ele era a pessoa mais honrada da casa de seu pai.
Y no dilató el mozo hacer aquello, porque la hija de Jacob le había agradado: y él era el más honrado de toda la casa de su padre.
And the young man deferred not to do the thing, because he had delight in Jacob’s daughter: and he was more honourable than all the house of his father.

Hamor e o filho Siquém foram ao portão de sua cidade e falaram com todos os homens, dizendo:
Entonces Hamor y Sichêm su hijo vinieron á la puerta de su ciudad, y hablaron á los varones de su ciudad, diciendo:
And Hamor and Shechem his son came unto the gate of their city, and communed with the men of their city, saying,
Hamor and Shechem, his son, came to the gate of their city, and talked with the men of their city, saying,
"Estes homens estão em paz conosco, deixai-os viver na terra e deixai-os fazer negócios, a terra é suficientemente grande para eles. Tomemos suas filhas como esposas e entreguemos-lhes as nossas filhas.
Estos varones son pacíficos con nosotros, y habitarán en el país, y traficarán en él: pues he aquí la tierra es bastante ancha para ellos: nosotros tomaremos sus hijas por mujeres, y les daremos las nuestras.
These men are peaceable with us; therefore let them dwell in the land, and trade therein; for the land, behold, it is large enough for them; let us take their daughters to us for wives, and let us give them our daughters.

Esta foi a única condição com a qual os homens concordaram para viverem conosco e nos tornarmos um só povo: Se cada homem entre nós for circuncidado, assim como eles o são.
Mas con esta condición nos harán estos hombres el placer de habitar con nosotros, para que seamos un pueblo: si se circuncidare en nosotros todo varón, así como ellos son circuncidados.
Only herein will the men consent unto us for to dwell with us, to be one people, if every male among us be circumcised, as they are circumcised.

Não serão todos os seus rebanhos e suas propriedades também nossos? Vamos entrar em acordo e, então, eles viverão conosco".
Sus ganados, y su hacienda y todas sus bestias, serán nuestras: solamente convengamos con ellos, y habitarán con nosotros.
Shall not their cattle and their substance and every beast of theirs be ours? only let us consent unto them, and they will dwell with us.

Todos os homens da cidade ouviram Hamor e Siquém, seu filho. E cada homem foi circuncidado.
Y obedecieron á Hamor y á Sichêm su hijo todos los que salían por la puerta de la ciudad, y circuncidaron á todo varón, á cuantos salían por la puerta de su ciudad.
And unto Hamor and unto Shechem his son hearkened all that went out of the gate of his city; and every male was circumcised, all that went out of the gate of his city.
All who went out of the gate of his city listened to Hamor, and to Shechem his son; and every male was circumcised, all who went out of the gate of his city.
No terceiro dia, quando eles estavam ainda com dores, dois filhos de Jacó, Simeão e Levi, irmãos de Diná, tomaram suas espadas, entraram silenciosamente na cidade e mataram todos os homens.
Y sucedió que al tercer día, cuando sentían ellos el mayor dolor, los dos hijos de Jacob, Simeón y Leví, hermanos de Dina, tomaron cada uno su espada, y vinieron contra la ciudad animosamente, y mataron á todo varón.
And it came to pass on the third day, when they were sore, that two of the sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi, Dinah’s brethren, took each man his sword, and came upon the city boldly, and slew all the males.

Os outros filhos de Jacó foram até onde estavam os corpos e saquearam a cidade porque o povo havia desonrado a irmã deles.
Y los hijos de Jacob vinieron á los muertos, y saquearon la ciudad; por cuanto habían amancillado á su hermana.
The sons of Jacob came upon the slain, and spoiled the city, because they had defiled their sister.

Eles tomaram seus rebanhos, manadas, jumentos e todas as coisas que havia na cidade e nos campos ao redor,
Tomaron sus ovejas y vacas y sus asnos, y lo que había en la ciudad y en el campo,
They took their sheep, and their oxen, and their asses, and that which was in the city, and that which was in the field,
They took their flocks, their herds, their donkeys, that which was in the city, that which was in the field,
todas as suas riquezas. Todas as crianças e suas esposas foram capturadas. Eles tomaram todas as coisas que estavam em suas casas.
Y toda su hacienda; se llevaron cautivos á todos sus niños y sus mujeres, y robaron todo lo que había en casa.
And all their wealth, and all their little ones, and their wives took they captive, and spoiled even all that was in the house.

Jacó disse a Simeão e a Levi: "Vós causastes grandes problemas para mim, fazendo com que os habitantes desta terra, cananeus e perizeus, me odeiem. Como somos em pouco número, se eles se juntarem para me atacar, irão destruir a mim e a minha casa".
Entonces dijo Jacob á Simeón y á Leví: Habéisme turbado con hacerme abominable á los moradores de aquesta tierra, el Cananeo y el Pherezeo; y teniendo yo pocos hombres, juntarse han contra mí, y me herirán, y seré destruído yo y mi casa.
And Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, Ye have troubled me to make me to stink among the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the Perizzites: and I being few in number, they shall gather themselves together against me, and slay me; and I shall be destroyed, I and my house.
Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, “You have troubled me, to make me odious to the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the Perizzites. I am few in number. They will gather themselves together against me and strike me, and I will be destroyed, I and my house.”
Mas Simeão e Levi disseram: "Deveria Siquém ter tratado nossa irmã como uma prostituta?".
Y ellos respondieron: ¿Había él de tratar á nuestra hermana como á una ramera?
And they said, Should he deal with our sister as with an harlot?
They said, “Should he deal with our sister as with a prostitute?”
