Por que você me enganou e saiu às escondidas? Por que não me contou o seu plano para que eu pudesse celebrar a sua partida com uma grande festa, com canções, com tamborins e com harpa?

¿Por qué te escondiste para huir, y me hurtaste, y no me diste noticia, para que yo te enviara con alegría y con cantares, con tamborín y vihuela?

Wherefore didst thou flee away secretly, and steal away from me; and didst not tell me, that I might have sent thee away with mirth, and with songs, with tabret, and with harp?
