Et Rachel vit qu’elle ne donnait pas d’enfants à Jacob, et Rachel fut jalouse de sa sœur, et dit à Jacob : Donne-moi des fils, sinon je meurs.

Y VIENDO Rachêl que no daba hijos á Jacob, tuvo envidia de su hermana, y decía á Jacob: Dame hijos, ó si no, me muero.

And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die.

When Rachel saw that she bore Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister. She said to Jacob, “Give me children, or else I will die.”

Et la colère de Jacob s’enflamma contre Rachel, et il dit : Suis-je à la place de Dieu, qui t’a refusé le fruit du ventre ?

Y Jacob se enojaba contra Rachêl, y decía: ¿Soy yo en lugar de Dios, que te impidió el fruto de tu vientre?

And Jacob’s anger was kindled against Rachel: and he said, Am I in God’s stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?

Jacob’s anger burned against Rachel, and he said, “Am I in God’s place, who has withheld from you the fruit of the womb?”

Et elle dit : Voici ma servante Bilha : va vers elle ; et elle enfantera sur mes genoux, et moi aussi j’aurai des enfants par elle.

Y ella dijo: He aquí mi sierva Bilha; entra á ella, y parirá sobre mis rodillas, y yo también tendré hijos de ella.

And she said, Behold my maid Bilhah, go in unto her; and she shall bear upon my knees, that I may also have children by her.

She said, “Behold, my maid Bilhah. Go in to her, that she may bear on my knees, and I also may obtain children by her.”

Et elle lui donna Bilha, sa servante, pour femme ; et Jacob vint vers elle.

Así le dió á Bilha su sierva por mujer; y Jacob entró á ella.

And she gave him Bilhah her handmaid to wife: and Jacob went in unto her.

She gave him Bilhah her servant as wife, and Jacob went in to her.

Et Bilha conçut, et enfanta un fils à Jacob.

Y concibió Bilha, y parió á Jacob un hijo.

And Bilhah conceived, and bare Jacob a son.

Bilhah conceived, and bore Jacob a son.

Et Rachel dit : Dieu m’a fait justice, et il a aussi entendu ma voix, et m’a donné un fils ; c’est pourquoi elle appela son nom Dan.

Y dijo Rachêl: Juzgóme Dios, y también oyó mi voz, y dióme un hijo. Por tanto llamó su nombre Dan.

And Rachel said, God hath judged me, and hath also heard my voice, and hath given me a son: therefore called she his name Dan.

Rachel said, “God has judged me, and has also heard my voice, and has given me a son.” Therefore she called his name Dan.

Et Bilha, servante de Rachel, conçut encore, et enfanta un second fils à Jacob.

Y concibió otra vez Bilha, la sierva de Rachêl, y parió el hijo segundo á Jacob.

And Bilhah Rachel’s maid conceived again, and bare Jacob a second son.

Bilhah, Rachel’s servant, conceived again, and bore Jacob a second son.

Et Rachel dit : J’ai soutenu des luttes de Dieu avec ma sœur, aussi je l’ai emporté. Et elle appela son nom Nephthali.

Y dijo Rachêl: Con luchas de Dios he contendido con mi hermana, y he vencido. Y llamó su nombre Nephtalí.

And Rachel said, With great wrestlings have I wrestled with my sister, and I have prevailed: and she called his name Naphtali.

Rachel said, “I have wrestled with my sister with mighty wrestlings, and have prevailed.” She named him Naphtali.

Et Léa vit qu’elle avait cessé d’enfanter, et elle prit Zilpa, sa servante, et la donna pour femme à Jacob.

Y viendo Lea que había dejado de parir, tomó á Zilpa su sierva, y dióla á Jacob por mujer.

When Leah saw that she had left bearing, she took Zilpah her maid, and gave her Jacob to wife.

When Leah saw that she had finished bearing, she took Zilpah, her servant, and gave her to Jacob as a wife.

Et Zilpa, servante de Léa, enfanta un fils à Jacob.

Y Zilpa, sierva de Lea, parió á Jacob un hijo.

And Zilpah Leah’s maid bare Jacob a son.

Zilpah, Leah’s servant, bore Jacob a son.

Et Léa dit : La bonne fortune vient. Et elle appela son nom Gad.

Y dijo Lea: Vino la ventura. Y llamó su nombre Gad.

And Leah said, A troop cometh: and she called his name Gad.

Leah said, “How fortunate!” She named him Gad.

Et Zilpa, servante de Léa, enfanta un second fils à Jacob.

Y Zilpa, la sierva de Lea, parió otro hijo á Jacob.

And Zilpah Leah’s maid bare Jacob a second son.

Zilpah, Leah’s servant, bore Jacob a second son.

Et Léa dit : Pour mon bonheur ! car les filles me diront bienheureuse. Et elle appela son nom Aser.

Y dijo Lea: Para dicha mía; porque las mujeres me dirán dichosa: y llamó su nombre Aser.

And Leah said, Happy am I, for the daughters will call me blessed: and she called his name Asher.

Leah said, “Happy am I, for the daughters will call me happy.” She named him Asher.

Et Ruben sortit aux jours de la moisson du froment, et il trouva des mandragores dans les champs, et les apporta à Léa, sa mère. Et Rachel dit à Léa : Donne-moi, je te prie, des mandragores de ton fils.

Y fué Rubén en tiempo de la siega de los trigos, y halló mandrágoras en el campo, y trájolas á Lea su madre: y dijo Rachêl á Lea: Ruégote que me des de las mandrágoras de tu hijo.

And Reuben went in the days of wheat harvest, and found mandrakes in the field, and brought them unto his mother Leah. Then Rachel said to Leah, Give me, I pray thee, of thy son’s mandrakes.

Et elle lui dit : Est-ce peu de chose que tu m’aies pris mon mari, et tu prends aussi les mandragores de mon fils ! Et Rachel dit : Eh bien, il couchera avec toi cette nuit pour les mandragores de ton fils.

Y ella respondió: ¿Es poco que hayas tomado mi marido, sino que también te has de llevar las mandrágoras de mi hijo? y dijo Rachêl: Pues dormirá contigo esta noche por las mandrágoras de tu hijo.

And she said unto her, Is it a small matter that thou hast taken my husband? and wouldest thou take away my son’s mandrakes also? And Rachel said, Therefore he shall lie with thee to night for thy son’s mandrakes.

Leah said to her, “Is it a small matter that you have taken away my husband? Would you take away my son’s mandrakes, also?” Rachel said, “Therefore he will lie with you tonight for your son’s mandrakes.”

Et Jacob vint des champs sur le soir, et Léa sortit à sa rencontre, et dit : C’est vers moi que tu viendras, car je t’ai loué pour les mandragores de mon fils. Et il coucha avec elle cette nuit-là.

Y cuando Jacob volvía del campo á la tarde, salió Lea á él, y le dijo: A mí has de entrar, porque á la verdad te he alquilado por las mandrágoras de mi hijo. Y durmió con ella aquella noche.

And Jacob came out of the field in the evening, and Leah went out to meet him, and said, Thou must come in unto me; for surely I have hired thee with my son’s mandrakes. And he lay with her that night.

Jacob came from the field in the evening, and Leah went out to meet him, and said, “You must come in to me; for I have surely hired you with my son’s mandrakes.” He lay with her that night.

Et Dieu entendit Léa, et elle conçut, et enfanta à Jacob un cinquième fils.

Y oyó Dios á Lea: y concibió, y parió á Jacob el quinto hijo.

And God hearkened unto Leah, and she conceived, and bare Jacob the fifth son.

God listened to Leah, and she conceived, and bore Jacob a fifth son.

Et Léa dit : Dieu m’a donné mon salaire, parce que j’ai donné ma servante à mon mari. Et elle appela son nom Issacar.

Y dijo Lea: Dios me ha dado mi recompensa, por cuanto dí mi sierva á mi marido: por eso llamó su nombre Issachâr.

And Leah said, God hath given me my hire, because I have given my maiden to my husband: and she called his name Issachar.

Leah said, “God has given me my hire, because I gave my servant to my husband.” She named him Issachar.

Et Léa conçut encore, et enfanta à Jacob un sixième fils.

Y concibió Lea otra vez, y parió el sexto hijo á Jacob.

And Leah conceived again, and bare Jacob the sixth son.

Leah conceived again, and bore a sixth son to Jacob.

Et Léa dit : Dieu m’a fait un beau don ; cette fois mon mari habitera avec moi, car je lui ai enfanté six fils. Et elle appela son nom Zabulon.

Y dijo Lea: Dios me ha dado una buena dote: ahora morará conmigo mi marido, porque le he parido seis hijos: y llamó su nombre Zabulón.

And Leah said, God hath endued me with a good dowry; now will my husband dwell with me, because I have born him six sons: and she called his name Zebulun.

Leah said, “God has endowed me with a good dowry. Now my husband will live with me, because I have borne him six sons.” She named him Zebulun.

Et après, elle enfanta une fille, et appela son nom Dina.

Y después parió una hija, y llamó su nombre Dina.

And afterwards she bare a daughter, and called her name Dinah.

Afterwards, she bore a daughter, and named her Dinah.

Et Dieu se souvint de Rachel ; et Dieu l’écouta et ouvrit sa matrice.

Y acordóse Dios de Rachêl, y oyóla Dios, y abrió su matriz.

And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.

Et elle conçut, et enfanta un fils, et dit : Dieu a ôté mon opprobre.

Y concibió, y parió un hijo: y dijo: Quitado ha Dios mi afrenta:

And she conceived, and bare a son; and said, God hath taken away my reproach:

She conceived, bore a son, and said, “God has taken away my reproach.”

Et elle appela son nom Joseph, en disant : Que l’Éternel m’ajoute un autre fils !

Y llamó su nombre José, diciendo: Añádame Jehová otro hijo.

And she called his name Joseph; and said, The LORD shall add to me another son.

She named him Joseph, saying, “May the LORD add another son to me.”

Et il arriva, quand Rachel eut enfanté Joseph, que Jacob dit à Laban : Renvoie-moi, et j’irai dans mon lieu et dans mon pays.

Y aconteció, cuando Rachêl hubo parido á José, que Jacob dijo á Labán: Envíame, é iré á mi lugar, y á mi tierra.

And it came to pass, when Rachel had born Joseph, that Jacob said unto Laban, Send me away, that I may go unto mine own place, and to my country.

When Rachel had borne Joseph, Jacob said to Laban, “Send me away, that I may go to my own place, and to my country.

Donne-moi mes femmes pour lesquelles je t’ai servi, et mes enfants, et je m’en irai ; car tu sais quel a été le service que je t’ai rendu.

Dame mis mujeres y mis hijos, por las cuales he servido contigo, y déjame ir; pues tú sabes los servicios que te he hecho.

Give me my wives and my children, for whom I have served thee, and let me go: for thou knowest my service which I have done thee.

Give me my wives and my children for whom I have served you, and let me go; for you know my service with which I have served you.”

Et Laban lui dit : †Écoute, si au moins j’ai trouvé grâce à tes yeux ! J’ai aperçu que l’Éternel m’a béni à cause de toi.

Y Labán le respondió: Halle yo ahora gracia en tus ojos, y quédate; experimentado he que Jehová me ha bendecido por tu causa.

And Laban said unto him, I pray thee, if I have found favour in thine eyes, tarry: for I have learned by experience that the LORD hath blessed me for thy sake.

Laban said to him, “If now I have found favor in your eyes, stay here, for I have divined that the LORD has blessed me for your sake.”

Et il dit : Fixe-moi ton salaire, et je te le donnerai.

Y dijo: Señálame tu salario, que yo lo daré.

And he said, Appoint me thy wages, and I will give it.

He said, “Appoint me your wages, and I will give it.”

Et il lui dit : Tu sais comment je t’ai servi, et ce qu’est devenu ton troupeau avec moi ;

Y él respondió: Tú sabes cómo te he servido, y cómo ha estado tu ganado conmigo;

And he said unto him, Thou knowest how I have served thee, and how thy cattle was with me.

Jacob said to him, “You know how I have served you, and how your livestock have fared with me.

car ce que tu avais avant moi était peu de chose, et s’est accru et est devenu une multitude ; et l’Éternel t’a béni depuis que je suis venu. Et maintenant, quand travaillerai-je, moi aussi, pour ma maison ?

Porque poco tenías antes de mi venida, y ha crecido en gran número; y Jehová te ha bendecido con mi llegada: y ahora ¿cuándo tengo de hacer yo también por mi propia casa?

For it was little which thou hadst before I came, and it is now increased unto a multitude; and the LORD hath blessed thee since my coming: and now when shall I provide for mine own house also?

For it was little which you had before I came, and it has increased to a multitude. The LORD has blessed you wherever I turned. Now when will I provide for my own house also?”

Et †Laban dit : Que te donnerai-je ? Et Jacob dit : Tu ne me donneras rien. Si tu veux faire ceci pour moi, je paîtrai encore ton bétail, †et je le garderai :

Y él dijo: ¿Qué te daré? Y respondió Jacob: No me des nada: si hicieres por mí esto, volveré á apacentar tus ovejas.

And he said, What shall I give thee? And Jacob said, Thou shalt not give me any thing: if thou wilt do this thing for me, I will again feed and keep thy flock:

Laban said, “What shall I give you?” Jacob said, “You shall not give me anything. If you will do this thing for me, I will again feed your flock and keep it.

je passerai aujourd’hui par tout ton bétail, j’en ôterai toute bête marquetée et tachetée, et tous les agneaux foncés, et ce qui est tacheté et marqueté parmi les chèvres ; et ce sera là mon salaire.

Yo pasaré hoy por todas tus ovejas, poniendo aparte todas las reses manchadas y de color vario, y todas las reses de color oscuro entre las ovejas, y las manchadas y de color vario entre las cabras; y esto será mi salario.

I will pass through all thy flock to day, removing from thence all the speckled and spotted cattle, and all the brown cattle among the sheep, and the spotted and speckled among the goats: and of such shall be my hire.

I will pass through all your flock today, removing from there every speckled and spotted one, and every black one among the sheep, and the spotted and speckled among the goats. This will be my hire.

Et ma justice répondra pour moi désormais, quand elle viendra devant toi pour mon salaire ; tout ce qui ne sera pas marqueté et tacheté parmi les chèvres, et foncé parmi les agneaux, auprès de moi, sera tenu pour volé.

Así responderá por mí mi justicia mañana, cuando me viniere mi salario delante de ti: toda la que no fuere pintada ni manchada en las cabras y de color oscuro en las ovejas mías, se me ha de tener por de hurto.

So shall my righteousness answer for me in time to come, when it shall come for my hire before thy face: every one that is not speckled and spotted among the goats, and brown among the sheep, that shall be counted stolen with me.

So my righteousness will answer for me hereafter, when you come concerning my hire that is before you. Every one that is not speckled and spotted among the goats, and black among the sheep, that might be with me, will be considered stolen.”

Et Laban dit : Voici, qu’il en soit selon ta parole.

Y dijo Labán: Mira, ojalá fuese como tú dices.

And Laban said, Behold, I would it might be according to thy word.

Laban said, “Behold, let it be according to your word.”

Et il ôta ce jour-là les boucs rayés et tachetés, et toutes les chèvres marquetées et tachetées, toutes celles qui avaient du blanc, et tout ce qui était foncé parmi les agneaux, et il les remit entre les mains de ses fils.

Y apartó aquel día los machos de cabrío rayados y manchados; y todas las cabras manchadas y de color vario, y toda res que tenía en sí algo de blanco, y todas las de color oscuro entre las ovejas, y púsolas en manos de sus hijos;

And he removed that day the he goats that were ringstraked and spotted, and all the she goats that were speckled and spotted, and every one that had some white in it, and all the brown among the sheep, and gave them into the hand of his sons.

That day, he removed the male goats that were streaked and spotted, and all the female goats that were speckled and spotted, every one that had white in it, and all the black ones among the sheep, and gave them into the hand of his sons.

Et il mit trois journées de chemin entre lui et Jacob ; et Jacob paissait le reste du bétail de Laban.

Y puso tres días de camino entre sí y Jacob: y Jacob apacentaba las otras ovejas de Labán.

And he set three days’ journey betwixt himself and Jacob: and Jacob fed the rest of Laban’s flocks.

He set three days’ journey between himself and Jacob, and Jacob fed the rest of Laban’s flocks.

– Et Jacob prit des branches fraîches de peuplier blanc, de coudrier, et d’érable, et y pela des raies blanches, mettant à nu le blanc qui était aux branches.

Y tomóse Jacob varas de álamo verdes, y de avellano, y de castaño, y descortezó en ellas mondaduras blancas, descubriendo así lo blanco de las varas.

And Jacob took him rods of green poplar, and of the hazel and chesnut tree; and pilled white strakes in them, and made the white appear which was in the rods.

Jacob took to himself rods of fresh poplar, almond, and plane tree, peeled white streaks in them, and made the white appear which was in the rods.

Et il plaça les branches, qu’il avait pelées, devant le bétail dans les auges, dans les abreuvoirs où le bétail venait boire ; et le bétail entrait en chaleur lorsqu’il venait boire ;

Y puso las varas que había mondado en las pilas, delante del ganado, en los abrevaderos del agua donde venían á beber las ovejas, las cuales se recalentaban viniendo á beber.

And he set the rods which he had pilled before the flocks in the gutters in the watering troughs when the flocks came to drink, that they should conceive when they came to drink.

He set the rods which he had peeled opposite the flocks in the watering troughs where the flocks came to drink. They conceived when they came to drink.

le bétail entrait en chaleur devant les branches, et il faisait des petits, rayés, marquetés, et tachetés.

Y concebían las ovejas delante de las varas, y parían borregos listados, pintados y salpicados de diversos colores.

And the flocks conceived before the rods, and brought forth cattle ringstraked, speckled, and spotted.

The flocks conceived before the rods, and the flocks produced streaked, speckled, and spotted.

Et Jacob sépara les agneaux, et tourna la face du troupeau vers ce qui était rayé et tout ce qui était foncé dans le bétail de Laban ; et il mit ses troupeaux à part, et ne les mit pas auprès du bétail de Laban.

Y apartaba Jacob los corderos, y poníalos con su rebaño, los listados, y todo lo que era oscuro en el hato de Labán. Y ponía su hato aparte, y no lo ponía con las ovejas de Labán.

And Jacob did separate the lambs, and set the faces of the flocks toward the ringstraked, and all the brown in the flock of Laban; and he put his own flocks by themselves, and put them not unto Laban’s cattle.

Jacob separated the lambs, and set the faces of the flocks toward the streaked and all the black in Laban’s flock. He put his own droves apart, and didn’t put them into Laban’s flock.

Et il arrivait que toutes les fois que les bêtes vigoureuses entraient en chaleur, Jacob mettait les branches dans les auges, devant les yeux du bétail, afin qu’elles entrent en chaleur en face des branches.

Y sucedía que cuantas veces se recalentaban las tempranas, Jacob ponía las varas delante de las ovejas en las pilas, para que concibiesen á la vista de las varas.

And it came to pass, whensoever the stronger cattle did conceive, that Jacob laid the rods before the eyes of the cattle in the gutters, that they might conceive among the rods.

Whenever the stronger of the flock conceived, Jacob laid the rods in front of the eyes of the flock in the watering troughs, that they might conceive among the rods;

Mais quand les bêtes étaient chétives, il ne les mettait pas ; et les chétives étaient à Laban, et les vigoureuses à Jacob.

Y cuando venían las ovejas tardías, no las ponía: así eran las tardías para Labán, y las tempranas para Jacob.

But when the cattle were feeble, he put them not in: so the feebler were Laban’s, and the stronger Jacob’s.

but when the flock were feeble, he didn’t put them in. So the feebler were Laban’s, and the stronger Jacob’s.

Et l’homme s’accrut extrêmement, et eut un bétail nombreux, et des servantes et des serviteurs, et des chameaux et des ânes.

Y acreció el varón muy mucho, y tuvo muchas ovejas, y siervas y siervos, y camellos y asnos.

And the man increased exceedingly, and had much cattle, and maidservants, and menservants, and camels, and asses.
