And Rachel said, With great wrestlings have I wrestled with my sister, and I have prevailed: and she called his name Naphtali.

And Leah said, God hath endued me with a good dowry; now will my husband dwell with me, because I have born him six sons: and she called his name Zebulun.

Y Labán le respondió: Halle yo ahora gracia en tus ojos, y quédate; experimentado he que Jehová me ha bendecido por tu causa.
And Laban said unto him, I pray thee, if I have found favour in thine eyes, tarry: for I have learned by experience that the LORD hath blessed me for thy sake.
Laban said to him, “If now I have found favor in your eyes, stay here, for I have divined that the LORD has blessed me for your sake.”
Y añadió: “Dime cuánto quieres ganar, y yo te lo pagaré”.
Y dijo: Señálame tu salario, que yo lo daré.
And he said, Appoint me thy wages, and I will give it.
He said, “Appoint me your wages, and I will give it.”
Jacob le contestó: “Tú sabes cómo he trabajado para ti y cómo ha prosperado tu ganado bajo mi cuidado.
Y él respondió: Tú sabes cómo te he servido, y cómo ha estado tu ganado conmigo;
And he said unto him, Thou knowest how I have served thee, and how thy cattle was with me.
Jacob said to him, “You know how I have served you, and how your livestock have fared with me.
Lo poco que tenías antes de que yo llegara se ha multiplicado enormemente, pues Yahvé te ha bendecido desde que estoy aquí. Pero, ¿cuándo voy a trabajar para mi propia familia?”
Porque poco tenías antes de mi venida, y ha crecido en gran número; y Jehová te ha bendecido con mi llegada: y ahora ¿cuándo tengo de hacer yo también por mi propia casa?
For it was little which thou hadst before I came, and it is now increased unto a multitude; and the LORD hath blessed thee since my coming: and now when shall I provide for mine own house also?
For it was little which you had before I came, and it has increased to a multitude. The LORD has blessed you wherever I turned. Now when will I provide for my own house also?”
Y preguntó Labán: “¿Qué quieres que te dé?” Jacob respondió: “No me des nada. Si aceptas esta propuesta, seguiré cuidando y apacentando tus ovejas.
Y él dijo: ¿Qué te daré? Y respondió Jacob: No me des nada: si hicieres por mí esto, volveré á apacentar tus ovejas.
And he said, What shall I give thee? And Jacob said, Thou shalt not give me any thing: if thou wilt do this thing for me, I will again feed and keep thy flock:
Laban said, “What shall I give you?” Jacob said, “You shall not give me anything. If you will do this thing for me, I will again feed your flock and keep it.
Déjame pasar hoy por todos tus rebaños y apartar toda oveja manchada o moteada, y todas las ovejas negras, así como todos los cabritos manchados o moteados. Ése será mi salario.

El día de mañana, mi honradez responderá por mí. Cuando vengas a revisar mi salario, todo cabrito que no esté manchado ni moteado, y toda oveja que no sea negra y que esté conmigo, será considerado un robo”.
Así responderá por mí mi justicia mañana, cuando me viniere mi salario delante de ti: toda la que no fuere pintada ni manchada en las cabras y de color oscuro en las ovejas mías, se me ha de tener por de hurto.
So shall my righteousness answer for me in time to come, when it shall come for my hire before thy face: every one that is not speckled and spotted among the goats, and brown among the sheep, that shall be counted stolen with me.
So my righteousness will answer for me hereafter, when you come concerning my hire that is before you. Every one that is not speckled and spotted among the goats, and black among the sheep, that might be with me, will be considered stolen.”
Labán aceptó: “De acuerdo. Que sea tal como dices”.
Y dijo Labán: Mira, ojalá fuese como tú dices.
And Laban said, Behold, I would it might be according to thy word.
Laban said, “Behold, let it be according to your word.”
Pero ese mismo día, Labán apartó los chivos rayados y manchados, y todas las cabras moteadas y manchadas, es decir, todos los que tenían alguna mancha blanca, junto con todas las ovejas negras, y los puso al cuidado de sus hijos.
Y apartó aquel día los machos de cabrío rayados y manchados; y todas las cabras manchadas y de color vario, y toda res que tenía en sí algo de blanco, y todas las de color oscuro entre las ovejas, y púsolas en manos de sus hijos;
And he removed that day the he goats that were ringstraked and spotted, and all the she goats that were speckled and spotted, and every one that had some white in it, and all the brown among the sheep, and gave them into the hand of his sons.

Y sucedía que cuantas veces se recalentaban las tempranas, Jacob ponía las varas delante de las ovejas en las pilas, para que concibiesen á la vista de las varas.
And it came to pass, whensoever the stronger cattle did conceive, that Jacob laid the rods before the eyes of the cattle in the gutters, that they might conceive among the rods.

Pero cuando se trataba de los animales más débiles, no ponía las ramas. Así que los animales débiles eran para Labán, y los fuertes para Jacob.
Y cuando venían las ovejas tardías, no las ponía: así eran las tardías para Labán, y las tempranas para Jacob.
But when the cattle were feeble, he put them not in: so the feebler were Laban’s, and the stronger Jacob’s.

De esta manera el hombre prosperó muchísimo, y llegó a tener grandes rebaños, además de sirvientas, sirvientes, camellos y burros.
